    West Branch State Park Campground

Well kept campground with access to beach and dock

Each campsite in on a leveled cement pad and comes with a fire ring a picnic table. There is plenty of room around your site and you don't feel crowded. Most sites offer nice tree coverage for shade. The restrooms and showers are very clean and well taken care of. There is also a laundry facility and sink outside each one for washing dishes and water fountains throughout the park. There is a nice beachfront for swimming and then a dock that be reached from outside the park. A beautiful lake for kayaking or boating. The store has most camping needs in it and once a week they host an ice cream social. Has a very nice playground and a sand volleyball court. There are some hiking trails, but nothing extensive.

Great Lively Place with lots of Amenities

Starting off, everyone from the employees to the other campers were super friendly! My boyfriend and I rented The Park Model Cabin which was sort of a half trailer with a full bathroom and full kitchen. The bed was the only detractor of our trip, as it was mostly springs. We brought our air mattress in for the second night and slept much better. The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Wooded Waterside Sites

Make reservations! (6 months in advance).  Waterside sites fill up quickly! Check in is very easy as you pass the camp store on your way in. All campsites have a fire ring and picnic table.  West Branch has private, spacious, shady sites. We can launch our kayaks right from our campsite. The shower house and bathrooms are large and clean. There is even a book exchange shelf at the shower house in case of rainy days. The park office loans games and sports equipment to campers. Washers and dryers are also at the shower house. There is an outside sink to wash up dishes. Bring your boat or kayak. There are many inlets to explore or fish. There is a small beach at the campground but a larger one on the other side of the lake. There is a boat launch at the campground.  There are playgrounds for the children. An ice cream social is held on Saturday evenings that my children always love to attend. There is a newer dog park near the intersection of Rock Spring  and Esworthy roads. There are many scenic hiking trails at West Branch. Bridal trails are located on Esworthy Rd. West Branch is our favorite campground and we make sure to visit every year.

    Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point

    Immaculate!

Absolutely beautiful RV park! Gorgeous views of Lake Erie and walking distance to the gate of Cedar Point. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Good little camp store with reasonable(ish) prices. Too chilly to swim but the pool looks nice. Bathhouses are updated, clean and very nice, but pretty far from about half of the sites. One section has premium sites with upgraded grills and fire pits and crazy good lake views. The regular sites are still well landscaped and each have a grill and an extra long picnic table, but no fire pit. You can bring your own fire pit if your site doesn't have one. No bikes or golf carts allowed on the grounds, but there are Cedar Point buses available day & night as well as rickshaws during the day. Until now I have held Disney World's Fort Wilderness as the penultimate place for camping but they could learn a few things from Cedar Point! We stayed five nights in a pull through sites, #231. I would love to snag a premium site for our next trip but it may be difficult because they allow you to book up five years in advance!

    Cabins could be better

The bunk beds have very thin rv style bunk bed mattresses. And the master bed mattress was a weak memory foam. Needs to invest in better mattresses.

    KOA Lake Milton Berlin Lake

    Cabin

Last August rented Cabin. It was beautiful and very clean. The owners were great and very helpful. !! Cabins are a little high in price. No WiFi,. KOA should lower the prices due to that. Activities are great keeps the kids interested. KOA should have on all camping sites Life Guard if there is water sports involved.Game room was nice and clean.Change machine needs to stay stocked.Fishing lake was great. I think with full swing in Season they should offer more activities for adults too.Camp Store should be more orangized. Bathhouse was very clean!.Trash was picked up every day and the Park very clean.! We have booked another Cabin for May 2021. They have a limited rental on Life jacket s. Bring ur own.!

Great base camp for visiting Cedar Point

The owners are very frank about what they have here. This isn't a place to get away from it all. It's behind a car dealership and next to a fairly busy railroad. But they do offer amenities to make your stay easier.
We normally stay at State Parks, so didn't understand all the options they had, and ended up with a deluxe dual site which had more than we needed, but was a pleasant surprise.
Our site was not in the tree shaded area, but instead included a Shelter with table, a patio with furniture and a fire pit, a grill and a free-stranding sink and electricity. the sites are close together, but our neighbors were friendly and comradery was the norm.
The showers are a bit cramped, but plenty of hot water.  There are TWO heated pools, which we didn't have time to use.  Plus there's  a big bouncy hill for the kids, something I've never seen before. A good General store and friendly staff.
We spent all our time at Cedar Point, but here are things for the kids to do here, including a crafts barn.

    Findley State Park Campground

    Organized Group Site 2

It was difficult to find pictures or reviews of the Findlay group sites. It honestly seemed to me that they didn't exist, so I thought I'd do the service of taking some pictures.

The group sites are away from the main campsites, so you should have plenty of space for your group to set up and enough distance between them to not disturb the peace if you have a large group. OGA2 is heavily forested, I'm not sure about OGA1. There are plenty of trees so both hammock and tent campers should be accommodated. The fire pit is large and there are 4 picnic tables.

The campsite is about 75 yards from the parking area, and there is a vault toilet right before the parking area.

"Beautiful clean serene park with absolutely stunning beach views at sunset," notes a camper who visited with their family, adding that "the park has older shower and bathrooms however there always clean and well taken care of."

A visitor at American Wilderness Campground mentioned, "There are little hideaway trails everywhere, making for a fun adventure!" These smaller paths complement the more extensive trail systems found at larger parks.

Lake recreation: Paddling opportunities exist at several cabin locations during warmer months. "We loved the beach and the fun we have had this is our favorite place to camp," shares a family who stayed at rental cabins, noting the combination of water activities with comfortable accommodations.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Visitors consistently praise the maintenance standards at Countryside Campground where cabin rentals include access to shared facilities. "The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!" explains a guest who rented a cabin at Roundup Lake RV Resort, demonstrating how these rentals offer more than just lodging.

What you should know

Reservation timing: For summer weekends, book cabin accommodations 4-6 months in advance. One visitor to Findley State Park Campground observed, "Only downfall is trying to find an open spot for reservations. Place is booked most of the time. If you're planning a holiday weekend you need to book 6 months in advance."

Cabin quality variations: Accommodations range from basic shelters to fully-furnished units. A camper at Roundup Lake RV Resort shared specific details: "My boyfriend and I rented The Park Model Cabin which was sort of a half trailer with a full bathroom and full kitchen. The bed was the only detractor of our trip, as it was mostly springs."

Water conditions: Some parks have water quality issues that cabin guests should prepare for. At one campground, a visitor warned, "Bring plenty of filters and plan on sanitizing your system after staying there," suggesting that guests might want to bring drinking water for certain locations.

Site specifications: Cabin locations within campgrounds vary significantly in terms of privacy and views. At Findley State Park, one visitor recommended doing "some research on campsites as they range from small to large for the same price," noting the importance of selecting specific units based on your needs.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Playgrounds and game areas keep children entertained during cabin stays. A family at Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA shared, "It was within great proximity to both [attractions] and had all the amenities the kids and I love. Swimming, laundry 24/7, a game room, store with just what we needed."

Wildlife encounters: Families staying in cabins should secure food items from local wildlife. "Every night we were visited by raccoons, they stole our trash on the first night but the other nights we kept everything out of their reach," warned a KOA visitor, adding practical advice about animal-proofing your cabin area.

Seasonal programming: Check for special weekend themes when booking cabin rentals with children. At Countryside Campground, a visitor noted, "Kids trick or treated and all campers were very friendly... Staff had crafts and pumpkin decorating for kids also and were helpful and friendly," showing how campground events enhance family cabin stays.

Beach facilities: Lakefront cabin locations offer swimming opportunities during summer. "The beach was clean and nice," reported a visitor to American Wilderness, while another mentioned that "kids enjoyed the arcade and gem mining," highlighting the combined indoor/outdoor activities available near cabin accommodations.

Tips from RVers

Utility connections: Cabin guests who normally travel by RV note the convenience of full hookups in deluxe units. A visitor to Countryside Campground observed, "We stayed here in a 29'TT, 3 kids, 2 dogs. Well kept smaller campground," adding details about site layout that apply to both RV sites and adjacent cabins.

Site selection: Choose cabin locations based on privacy needs and proximity to facilities. An experienced RVer staying at Streetsboro KOA advised, "It's always nerve wracking when the fire pits are close to the rigs - loved that these sites were wide. And while there are likely people here it feels nice and spread out."

Seasonal considerations: Weather impacts cabin comfort differently than RV camping. A fall visitor noted, "Due to cooler temps pool was closed. The small putt putt course was still open for kids to play," showing how amenities vary by season at cabin rental properties.
