    West Branch State Park Campground

Well kept campground with access to beach and dock

Each campsite in on a leveled cement pad and comes with a fire ring a picnic table. There is plenty of room around your site and you don't feel crowded. Most sites offer nice tree coverage for shade. The restrooms and showers are very clean and well taken care of. There is also a laundry facility and sink outside each one for washing dishes and water fountains throughout the park. There is a nice beachfront for swimming and then a dock that be reached from outside the park. A beautiful lake for kayaking or boating. The store has most camping needs in it and once a week they host an ice cream social. Has a very nice playground and a sand volleyball court. There are some hiking trails, but nothing extensive.

    Roundup Lake RV Resort

Great Lively Place with lots of Amenities

Starting off, everyone from the employees to the other campers were super friendly! My boyfriend and I rented The Park Model Cabin which was sort of a half trailer with a full bathroom and full kitchen. The bed was the only detractor of our trip, as it was mostly springs. We brought our air mattress in for the second night and slept much better. The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Wooded Waterside Sites

Make reservations! (6 months in advance).  Waterside sites fill up quickly! Check in is very easy as you pass the camp store on your way in. All campsites have a fire ring and picnic table.  West Branch has private, spacious, shady sites. We can launch our kayaks right from our campsite. The shower house and bathrooms are large and clean. There is even a book exchange shelf at the shower house in case of rainy days. The park office loans games and sports equipment to campers. Washers and dryers are also at the shower house. There is an outside sink to wash up dishes. Bring your boat or kayak. There are many inlets to explore or fish. There is a small beach at the campground but a larger one on the other side of the lake. There is a boat launch at the campground.  There are playgrounds for the children. An ice cream social is held on Saturday evenings that my children always love to attend. There is a newer dog park near the intersection of Rock Spring  and Esworthy roads. There are many scenic hiking trails at West Branch. Bridal trails are located on Esworthy Rd. West Branch is our favorite campground and we make sure to visit every year.

    Camp Sandusky

    Very nice campgrounds!

There is so much structure and order to this campground! The grounds are laid out so nicely! One big circle with cross roads all along the way. You can camp however you'd like too! They have RV sites, tent sites and cabins. All mixed in together so you can travel with all your favorite campers. They do breakfast every morning in the front pavilion for $4.50 (all you can eat pancakes, 1 sausage and coffee) I haven't tried it yet, but its certainly popular. Laundry is open 24 hours a day and in an open area. Not the biggest fan of that due to needing to do laundry in the rain. Bathrooms are clean and standard. Row of toilet stalls and showers in a separate room. They have a stellar playground area, I don't have kids but even I was drawn to wanting to play on it. Very pet friendly around here. Close to downtown, near Cedar Point and all the other attractions over here. They have 2 pools, one being heated. We haven't had a bad rain storm while we're here but you can tell by the ground of our spot its going to be bad and super muddy. All in all this campground is pretty awesome.

    Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point

    Immaculate!

Absolutely beautiful RV park! Gorgeous views of Lake Erie and walking distance to the gate of Cedar Point. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Good little camp store with reasonable(ish) prices. Too chilly to swim but the pool looks nice. Bathhouses are updated, clean and very nice, but pretty far from about half of the sites. One section has premium sites with upgraded grills and fire pits and crazy good lake views. The regular sites are still well landscaped and each have a grill and an extra long picnic table, but no fire pit. You can bring your own fire pit if your site doesn't have one. No bikes or golf carts allowed on the grounds, but there are Cedar Point buses available day & night as well as rickshaws during the day. Until now I have held Disney World's Fort Wilderness as the penultimate place for camping but they could learn a few things from Cedar Point! We stayed five nights in a pull through sites, #231. I would love to snag a premium site for our next trip but it may be difficult because they allow you to book up five years in advance!

    Kelleys Island State Park Campground

    Vacation island campground

To reach Kelley's Island, you have to take the only ferry. Our round trip roundtrip fare for 3 adults and a vehicle was a around $100. It's around 25 mins across to the island. The island has about 500 full time residents. The road that runs up the center of the island, Division Street, starts a little west of the ferry stop and ends at the State Park. There are some small shops, restaurants, miniature golf, ice cream and fudge shops. There are golf cart rentals and lots of bikers and walkers on the island. You could walk the

The state park was beautiful. Filled with boaters, families and RVers. The bathrooms were clean, the park sold firewood and ice. There was an ice cream shop across from the entrance. Our tent spot was level. Quiet hours started at 11 pm. Unfortunately, people ignored it. I kept hoping the camp host would walk around and say something. Someone's car alarm went off at 5 am and the dogs got up and our day started. I would recommend watching the sunrise from the park benches at the water's edge. It was beautiful.

There were places to put your kayaks in as well as a boat launch by the park. People were fishing off the jetting that protects the swimming area.

It will get chilly at night, the sites on the edge of the water were windier. And bring your bug spray. Beautiful island, fun brewery on the island, sites are crowded. I would easily head back.

    East Harbor State Park Campground

    Beautiful Campground

Very nice campground, it’s large so if you’re walking around, remember to take a map. The campground is right on the shore of Lake Erie, there are a few restaurants nearby. The sites vary in size, lots of shade trees where we camped. There are picnic tables and fire rings, some sites have FHUs, some standard electric, and of course, primitive.

Guide to Olmsted Falls

Cabins near Olmsted Falls, Ohio offer convenient shelter options for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore northeastern Ohio's diverse landscape. The area sits within the glaciated Allegheny Plateau region with gently rolling terrain at approximately 760 feet elevation. Winter temperatures often drop below freezing from December through February, making heated cabin options particularly valuable during colder months.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: American Wilderness Campground provides stocked fishing ponds where visitors can practice catch-and-release. "Beautiful clean serene park with absolutely stunning beach views at sunset," notes Andrew V., who appreciates the water features. Jessica J. adds, "We love the fishing available here we also had the kids they enjoyed the arcade and gem mining."

Hiking trails: Findley State Park Campground offers extensive woodland paths through mature forests. A visitor explains, "Findley state park is well maintained large park! We can easily get lost on 3 mile hikes in the woods and still be on marked paths!" Some trails connect directly to lakeside areas for scenic views.

Water recreation: West Branch State Park Campground features multiple water access points for cabin guests who bring watercraft. "We also took the inflatable kayaks out on the lake twice and it was so smooth and clear," reports one reviewer. For families, the camp beach area provides swimming access during summer months.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Maple Lakes Campground cabins receive consistent praise for maintenance standards. A camper shared, "This may be Heaven on Earth! The loveliest of settings. Friendly helpful staff - super well cared for nestled in the prettiest neighborhood." Bathroom facilities at most cabin locations include shower houses with hot water.

Peaceful settings: Sunset Lake Campground offers more secluded cabin options away from busier campgrounds. "This is a very quiet and relaxing campground. The grounds are clean and the sites are very well spaced," notes one visitor. Cabin locations typically feature fire rings and picnic tables for outdoor meals.

Affordability: East Harbor State Park Campground cabins provide economical alternatives to hotels when visiting Lake Erie attractions. Cabins range from rustic (no plumbing) to modern units with kitchenettes. Park entrance fees are separate from accommodation costs, with most sites requiring advance reservation.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most cabin facilities book months in advance for peak summer weekends, especially those near water. At Kelleys Island State Park Campground, planning becomes essential: "You can reserve a spot ahead and I would absolutely do that during season."

Seasonal availability: Operating schedules vary significantly between locations. Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA operates from May 1 to October 15, closing completely during winter months. Year-round options like West Branch State Park require advance planning as heated cabins remain limited.

Pet policies: Additional fees apply at many locations that permit pets in cabin units. Timber Ridge Campgrounds allows pets with certain restrictions. As one visitor notes, "Hit up the ATM prior to arriving, as this park is cash/check only. It's gorgeous with super large sites."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: American Wilderness Campground includes family-oriented programming during peak season. "We had a nice time the place was clean and the people were nice as in other campers we had a good time we went to the pavilion to a get together," shares Travis O. about the social opportunities.

Beach access: For cabin stays with young children, proximity to swimming areas matters. "The camp beach was right next door too! Great trails, clean facilities, no complaints," explains a camper at West Branch State Park. Beach towels and swim gear remain required items not typically provided in cabin rentals.

Playground facilities: Rvino - Camp Hiyo provides recreational areas for children near cabin sites. "Nice park, two fenced dog parks. Bathrooms were clean," notes Steven V. Playground equipment ranges from basic swing sets to more elaborate climbing structures depending on location.

Tips from RVers

Cabin versus RV considerations: Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA offers both RV sites and cabins for travelers. "It was within great proximity to both [Cleveland attractions] and had all the amenities the kids and I love. Swimming, laundry 24/7, a game room, store with just what we needed," mentions Jennifer H., highlighting facilities available to all guests.

Storage limitations: Cabin interiors typically provide less storage space than RVs. Essential packing includes bedding, cookware, and food storage containers. Standard cabin furnishings consist of beds, small tables, and minimal kitchen equipment.

Electricity access: Most cabin options include standard 120V outlets for basic appliances and device charging. More rustic units may offer limited power outlets, making power strips useful additions to packing lists.
