Best RV Parks & Resorts near Louisville, OH

Evergreen Park RV Resort and Berlin RV Park & Campground provide full hookup options for RVs about 35 miles from Louisville, Ohio, with Evergreen Park open year-round and Berlin operating seasonally from April through December. Concrete pads are available at many sites, with several parks offering 50-amp electrical service for larger units. "Our site was gravel and fairly unlevel. Did our best to level it out but still have water collecting to the left," noted one camper about their experience at a nearby park. Scenic Hills RV Park, operational from April to November, offers big rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp service, though it lacks shower and toilet facilities on-site.

Full-service dump stations are available at multiple parks in the region, with dual lanes at some locations to prevent backup during busy checkout periods. Cell service varies considerably—several travelers reported excellent connectivity for remote work needs while others found limited reception requiring trips to local libraries for internet access. During peak travel seasons, especially summer weekends and fall foliage viewing, advance reservations are strongly recommended as parks reach capacity quickly. Most campgrounds welcome pets but enforce leash requirements, with some offering designated pet areas. Propane fill services are generally not available on-site at campgrounds near Louisville, requiring campers to visit nearby towns for refills.

    Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

    Nice little State Park

Tomlinson Run is a small state park situated in the northern panhandle of West Virginia nestled between eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Plenty of things to do there including but not limited to…. Mini golf, hiking trails, biking, swimming, fishing, paddle boats, parks for the kids, and of course the camping. The campsites here are mainly gravel pads with the exception being the asphalt handicapped spots (2). Most spots are 30 amp with a few 50 amp (new for 2021). The park also has a few primitive spots available and some yurts and cabins to rent. I have a 38’ fifth wheel and the spots are tight for it (even the couple pull thru). Campground facilities are clean but dated. They state new facilities are coming soon. The campground is at the top of a hill and the spots are wooded and shaded. I would consider the camping to be spaced generously (room to stretch out). They have a small camp store and information available. A breakfast is available during peak season for a small fee. They do have water and a dump station available (free for campers to use).

    Amish Country Campsites

    Amish campsite

Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly

    Atwood Lake Park Campground

    Incredible!

The Atwood Lake Campground is a true gem in a beautiful area of eastern Ohio! We’ve visited the Atwood region many times in the past but have never camped - but after this visit we’ll be back for sure. The campground is relatively new, with the campground area being completely revamped beginning in 2017. There are two overnight camping areas with seasonal sites in a separate section; we stayed in “Camp H” which is the newest area. There is a huge bathhouse with two sets of men’s and women’s restrooms and shower facilities along with a very nice laundry area. Adjoining the bathhouse area is a beautiful pavilion and children’s playground - all of which overlooks Atwood Lake. The campsites are nicely spaced though if you’re in the inner loop as we were or even some of the outer ring sites you’ll be looking right into your neighbor’s site. All sites are FHU on level concrete pads and include a metal picnic table and fire ring. If needed there are two very well equipped dump stations if you prefer to use them instead of the sewer connection at your site. Many sites are on cul de sacs directly on the lake with docks and fishing areas adjacent to the campsites. Lots of hiking trails, paved bike paths, a swimming beach and restaurant are in a nearby area. We loved the campground and will return soon!

    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

    Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

    Very wooded campground

General: 50-site (all but six with electric hookups) campground plus two yurts and three cabins. Two sites are handicap accessible.

Site Quality: The sites have gravel pads (except the handicap-accessible ones which were paved). The sites were completely covered with leaves when we were there which made it challenging to determine where the actual (narrow) pad was. Sites appeared to be level. A fire ring and wooden picnic table complete the site.

Bathhouse: A little dated but clean. Two of the stall doors did not latch properly. Didn't use the shower so cannot comment but there was a sign indicating it took a while for the water to warm up.

Activities/Amenities: There is a small camper store, laundry, and a playground. In season, there is lake swimming and a boat dock. There is a fishing area, mini-golf and disc golf, and several short hiking trails. Unfortunately, since we arrived late afternoon and had to depart early the following day (and were camping off-season), we could not take advantage of any of these things. What we lose in activities, we gain in a quieter camping experience with fewer crowds, which is generally preferable for us!

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Love the Lake!

This state park has a lot to offer with the highlight being a large 2,650-lake that appeals to fishermen, boaters, and swimmers. The park is over 5,000 acres and not only has camping but hiking, volleyball, fishing, playgrounds, picnicking, hunting, horseback riding, and more.

The campground is divided into three loops with nearly 200 sites. Campsites include those with full hook-up (50 amp), electric only (50 amp), and some with no electric. This campground is suitable for everything from large RVs to tents. Sites and roads are paved and each site has a picnic table and fire pit. In loops where there is no water directly at the site, water spigots are scattered throughout. The restroom/bathhouses in our loop were really nice, modern, clean, and had laundry facilities which is a real plus at a state park campground. Campsites can be reserved online up to six months in advance. Since we were here in April, the campground was practically empty and getting a site was no problem. But, if you want one of the 29 full hook-up sites in the summer, you better book early.

We really enjoyed the hiking trails and being able to leave our campsite and be right on the trails. There are approximately 12 miles of hiking trails and an additional 20 miles that are open to horses and snowmobiles. (Be aware that hunting is permitted in certain areas.)

The park is about 15 miles from Cuyahoga Valley National Park which is a fantastic place to explore with a lot going on for the whole family! If you are interested in football, the National Football Hall of Fame is just down the road in Canton. The town of Hudson has a pretty, historic downtown with a fun old soda fountain.

We would definitely stay at this campground again. It was a perfect place to stay while visiting family in the nearby town of Hudson. Loved having a paved site with full hook-ups especially since there was a lot of rain while we were there. The lake was perfect for kayaking and had we been able to stay longer we would have spent more time on the water.

    Great stop for one night

Great campground on the smaller side, so not too much traffic driving around. Our site was gravel and fairly unlevel. Did our best to level it out but still have water collecting to the left. We lucked out and got a pull through last minute.

Water pressure was low. ATT cell coverage was full. Lots of shade so couldn’t use our Starlink internet but the campground internet was great. Even had video camera meetings on it while working in the morning.

Worth noting we were having some rig problems (slide out stuck in) and after calling four local places not one of them returned our calls. Only stayed the one night because we need to move on to get this fixed.

    Big Arbs Campground

    Lots of Hills

The whole campground is on a hill. Most if not all seasonal sites. The area we stayed was mostly the party crowd and didnt seem to respect quiet time. There is a long list of rules most do not follow. And ownership takes no responsibility. We had to ask several times for a picnic table and fire ring.

    Punderson State Park Campground

    Excellent Park & Campground!

We have just returned from our first stay at Punderson and have no complaints! Sites are smallish, but clean, mostly level and well kept, as is the camping area in general. There are NO pull-through sites I am aware of. Had a picnic with nearby family at one of the pavilions… again, neat and clean and well taken care of. Very quiet at night, which is something we look for. Firewood for sale on site was a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected. Only complaint was lack of strong WIFI, but we have our own uplink. Will definitely return!

Guide to Louisville

Camping areas around Louisville, Ohio typically range between 1,100-1,300 feet in elevation with rolling terrain throughout the region. The area experiences four distinct seasons with summer temperatures averaging 80-85°F and winter lows regularly dropping below freezing. Most campgrounds in Stark County and surrounding areas remain open from April through October, with a few maintaining year-round operations despite the cold Ohio winters.

What to do

Amish country exploration: Campers staying at Berlin RV Park & Campground can enjoy easy access to local Amish attractions. "We spent the weekend here while visiting Amish country in Ohio. For the most part it is just a place to park your camper in a big open area while visiting the area," notes one visitor who appreciated the convenient location. Another camper mentioned, "The campground is right in the middle of Ohio's Amish country with easy access to shopping and food and other great experiences like the large cuckoo clock in Sugar Creek."

Fishing opportunities: Countryside Campground offers direct access to Mogadore Reservoir. "Lake Accessible. We stayed a few nights on Tent site 4 and had a blast! Stop at Duma Meats to grill something delicious!" writes one reviewer. Another visitor explains, "A nice short walk takes you to Mogadore reservoir, no luck for us fishing from shore." The proximity to fishing spots makes this location appealing for anglers.

Swimming and recreation: Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground features a small lake perfect for summer activities. "Our family really enjoyed staying here, and our kids especially loved swimming and fishing in the lake," shares one camper. The campground maintains other recreational options as noted by another reviewer: "It is beautifully set up with a small lake for swimming, playgrounds, pavillions, games, events, music etc."

What campers like

Clean facilities: Evergreen Park RV Resort earns consistent praise for its maintenance standards. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. Friendly staff and everything was so clean," writes one winter visitor. Another notes, "Club house and pool are immaculate, including public restrooms and showers." This focus on cleanliness stands out in visitor feedback.

Spacious sites: Countryside Campground provides generous spacing for tent campers. "The 9 tent sites are very large and spacious. It is mostly an established Rv Park," explains one reviewer who appreciated the room to spread out. Level sites are also valued, with another camper noting, "Large campground with gravel sites."

Year-round options: Roundup Lake RV Resort offers activities in different seasons. "Given the size and amenities this campground boasts, I feel it must be a real attractive campground for families during the summer," writes one off-season visitor. The campground maintains themed events as another camper points out: "The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!"

What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Many campers note variable site conditions across different rv campgrounds near Louisville, Ohio. "We had difficulty leveling one night in lot 3 but traded to #4 the next night and did fine," reports one camper at Berlin RV Park. This experience highlights the importance of checking site conditions during check-in.

Hookup locations: Utility connections aren't always ideally positioned at some campgrounds. At Scenic Hills RV Park, one camper observed, "The one and only issue is that water and electricity is located in the rear area of RV, while sewer connections are toward the front. I personally used 50' of water line and 30' of sewer line."

Limited kid activities: Some campgrounds cater more to adults than families. "If you have children there is little if anything at all for them here," notes a Scenic Hills visitor. Similarly, at other parks: "Nothing much for kids, so it's nice for peace and quiet," reports another camper, suggesting these locations might be better for couples or seniors seeking tranquility.

Tips for camping with families

Check for seasonal activities: Many campgrounds offer different amenities depending on when you visit. "We arrived mid-September 2020, so Covid has had its impact and it's past Labor Day so pools/lakes are likely closed to swimming most years anyway," notes one Roundup Lake visitor. Planning around these seasonal changes helps avoid disappointment with children.

Consider swimming options: Whispering Hills Jellystone RV Park receives positive feedback for its family-friendly features. "Great activities including mini golf, pool, jumping pad and frisbee golf," writes one camper. Another mentions, "This campground was great. My boys were able to walk across the road to get to the pond that was well stocked with fish."

Look for playground access: Countryside Campground maintains play areas for children. "Playground was a hit for our 8yr and under kids," reports a family. Another visitor confirms the campground offers "Rec hall, playground, dog park," making it suitable for families with varied interests and pets.

Tips from RVers

Extended stay considerations: For longer-term RV camping near Louisville, Ohio, price differences can be significant. At Pride Valley Campground, "full connections for $450 per month, you can't beat that!!" notes one extended-stay camper. This information helps those planning longer visits budget appropriately.

Site conditions: Check site materials and levelness before setting up. "Sites are pretty level, are newer so gravel still settling," reports one RVer about Pride Valley. At Chestnut Ridge, another visitor appreciates that they "keep up on the gravel and leveling which is always appreciated."

Big rig accessibility: Not all campgrounds accommodate larger RVs equally well. Berlin RV Park gets positive reviews for accessibility with one camper noting, "The many pull thru lots looked like a good level base." For larger units, checking in advance about turning radius, site length, and road conditions prevents difficult arrival situations.
