Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Louisville, OH

Cuttys Sunset Camping Resort features full dog-friendly accommodations from May through October, with RV sites, tent camping spaces, and glamping options. The family-oriented campground welcomes pets throughout its property, maintaining clean grounds and enforcing reasonable pet policies that balance freedom with consideration for other campers. Dogs must remain leashed when outside RVs or tents, with multiple waste stations available throughout the grounds. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Akron/Canton, located just 15 miles from Louisville, also accommodates pets across tent sites, RV hookups, and select cabins. Lots of activities, things for kids to do, and a dog-friendly atmosphere make these locations popular with pet owners. Pride Valley Campground and Canton/East Sparta KOA Holiday provide additional pet-friendly options in the area, each offering full hookup sites where dogs are welcome.

The camping experience for dogs varies considerably across properties, with some offering more spacious sites than others. At Cuttys, sites can feel somewhat close together, potentially creating challenges for reactive dogs, while the KOA properties generally provide more space between campsites. Most campgrounds require proof of current rabies vaccination and enforce standard leash policies (typically 6-foot maximum). Hiking opportunities exist at nearby Quail Hollow State Park and Cuyahoga Valley National Park, both offering dog-friendly trails within a reasonable drive. Mosquitoes and ticks present seasonal concerns for pets, particularly during summer months, making preventative treatments advisable when camping in this region. Campers should note that most locations prohibit leaving pets unattended at campsites and enforce quiet hours that include barking restrictions.

    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

    Silver Springs Campground

    Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

Quiet setting: Silver Springs Campground offers a peaceful environment despite its proximity to town. "Very nice, quiet city campground. Many unlevel sites. Only 3-30 amp hooks ups, the rest are 20 amp. No reservations. Fantastic dog park with a swimming beach for dogs only," notes Judy F.

Grass is coming in nicely," notes Fred R., while at Countryside, sites are described as "a tad small but nice and long. Even with the sites close together it was quiet and peaceful."
