    Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

    Hocking River RV Park

Scenic, easy in/out and on the river

Stayed here 4 nights, pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43’ fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material). Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river. Bath house is just ok - not great, not gross. Close proximity to lots of hiking but Hocking Hills itself has become so crowded… don’t come if you want to get away from people.

    Hocking Hills KOA Holiday

    Great first time KOA experience

We have never stayed at a KOA before and were very happy with this campground. The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. We are first-time owners of a 29 ft Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. It offered little in the way of privacy, which was the only negative about the whole experience. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site. They also deliver wood directly to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. The front office includes a little gift shop, ice cream, and pizza. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails, and about 12 miles from Logan. The little road going up to the campground is VERY bumpy. It's not the campground road, it belongs to the Township, so its completely out of their ability to make improvements. This was only our second time out in our fifth wheel camper so it was a little scary, but we just drove slow and our truck handled it just fine. We will definitely be back to this wonderful campground as we love Hocking Hills.

    Cross Creek Camping Resort

    Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

    Berkshire Campgrounds

    Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

Guide to Canal Winchester

Canal Winchester's RV parks and campgrounds sit in the gently rolling terrain of central Ohio, with elevations ranging from 750 to 830 feet above sea level. The region experiences four distinct seasons with humid summers reaching the mid-80s and winters dropping to the 20s. Most campgrounds in the area remain open from April through October, though several offer year-round camping options for those seeking RV sites near Canal Winchester, Ohio during winter months.

What to do

Fishing access: Jackson Lake Park features a small lake stocked with fish where campers can spend quiet mornings. "We went to the lake and at the desk was the new managers. They have only had it for 2 weeks now. They were super super sweet," reports a recent visitor to Jackson Lake Park.

Kayaking trips: The Hocking River provides opportunities for paddling near RV camping sites around Canal Winchester. "We also just went up the highway a little to a rafting rental place called murrys landing to raft down the river. It is one of my favorite places to camp!!" notes one visitor to Hocking River RV Park.

Mini golf and recreation: Several campgrounds offer on-site activities beyond typical camping. "Fun location just off the highway. Perfect for a family, has swimming pool, putt putt, and other child friendly activities... also has small fishing pond... convenient to town for supplies," writes a camper about Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention well-maintained grounds as a key factor in their stay satisfaction. "Nice, small, shaded, well maintained campground. Wasn't crowded when we visited in Sep. but I can imagine when it's full it's a little crowded. Beautiful lake, nice a quiet. Lots of waterfowl," writes a reviewer about Kokosing River Campground.

Peaceful atmosphere: Many visitors appreciate the quiet setting of campgrounds in the region. "This is a small, maybe 35 sites, clean well maintained campground. The owners have rules and they DO enforce 'em. As a result it is quiet, grass all in good shape, etc.," notes a camper about Alton RV Park.

Water recreation: Access to swimming areas ranks high among camper preferences. "The little lake was so much fun. My children were upset we had to leave early due to the storm coming in," reports a Jackson Lake Park visitor, highlighting the popularity of water features at RV sites near Canal Winchester.

What you should know

Seasonal availability: While some parks operate year-round, others have limited seasons. Hocking River RV Park operates from April through October, while Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort and several others remain open throughout the year.

Reservation recommendations: Holiday weekends fill quickly at popular campgrounds. "We booked last minute on a holiday weekend and had like 2 options for a spot. I wasn't happy with our spot but again that's my own fault. I would definitely book ahead and look at the map to find a good spot," advises a Jackson Lake Park visitor.

Site variations: Quality and spacing between sites varies significantly between and within campgrounds. "Sites are close but we had plenty of room for what we needed. We could have put out awnings if we had wanted to," reports an Alton RV Park camper.

Tips for camping with families

Look for kid-friendly amenities: Some campgrounds specifically cater to families with children. "Tomorrow Stars Campground is an excellent layover off I-70, offering a family-friendly and quiet atmosphere. The campground features a pool and boasts clean, well-maintained facilities," notes a visitor to Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort.

Check for organized activities: Several parks schedule regular events for younger campers. "They had quite a big staff to take care of the place, life guard, and run the children's events like Tye-dye, archery, etc. if you have kids, the pool and the lake activities will keep them busy all day and give them a great opportunity wear themselves out for a good night sleep," writes a Jackson Lake Park camper.

Consider proximity to bathrooms: Bathroom location matters when camping with kids. "They were VERY far from the camp area (the one in the arcade room was close but it was closed after 11pm) and the bathrooms they did have only typically had one working stall," advises a camper about Jackson Lake Park.

Tips from RVers

Level site considerations: Many RVers note the importance of level sites in the Canal Winchester area. "Pull through we were assigned had very low hanging tree limbs. I called the office and asked if we could use space 41 instead. No problem! Everything is clean, well cared for, and really pretty," reports a visitor to Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort.

Hookup quality: The water and electric connections vary between campgrounds. "We appreciated the full hook-ups and pull through site. The staff came through every morning to pick up the trash. But, the water hook ups were accessible through a hole/pipe and we had to "fish" down to connect our hose," notes a camper about Jackson Lake Park.

Overnight stopover options: Several campgrounds near Canal Winchester serve well for travelers needing a convenient place to park their RV. "Staff is very friendly and we got a nice pull through site for a quick stop over my way to upper Michigan. There's a really nice pond and has water activities if you stay longer. Easy in/out," shares a visitor to Lakeview RV Park.
