    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks surround Blue Rock, Ohio providing electric hookups and water access. Hocking River RV Park offers electric hookups and thirty-amp service with sites positioned along the Hocking River. Shadow Lake RV Resort in Woodsfield provides full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections year-round. Riversedge Campground features both water and sewer hookups with shower facilities. Ashland RV Park in Marietta accommodates larger vehicles with big-rig friendly sites, fifty-amp electrical service, and full hookups including water and sewer. "RV sites were very close together. Site required minimal leveling. We were on like a hilltop and overlooked lower level RV circle."

Many parks in the region have varying degrees of site levelness and utility access. Lakeview RV Park near Lancaster offers water and electric hookups but no reservations, making arrival timing important during busy periods. Several campgrounds provide sanitary dump stations for those without full hookup sites. Most RV parks in the area allow pets, though Stockport RV Park restricts pets on their premises. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region's campgrounds, with stronger signals near larger towns. Travelers with larger motorhomes should note that only three parks in the area specifically advertise big-rig friendly sites. A camper noted that "Burr Oak Cove can be a challenge to level trailers or RVs as the parking pads are sloped," suggesting bringing leveling blocks when visiting parks in this hilly region.

      Harris RV Park

A Peaceful, No‑Frills Gem on the Ohio River

I spent 28 nights at this laid‑back little campground from late May through June, and honestly, it was exactly the kind of no‑frills spot I love. Every site is a pull‑through, long enough for just about any rig and tow vehicle, with a simple grass‑and‑gravel setup that only needed minimal leveling. There’s no shade, so be ready for full sun, but the tradeoff is wide‑open views—especially if you snag sites 11 or 12, which overlook the river beautifully. Hookups were solid across the board: 30/50 amp electric, normal water pressure, and full sewer. Connectivity was fantastic, which made working remotely a breeze. Starlink ran between 250–300 Mbps, Verizon had five bars. I didn’t have a single issue streaming, attending meetings, or getting work done. Amenities are basically nonexistent—no bathrooms, no showers, no pool, and the laundry across the street was closed the entire month I stayed. But honestly, the price reflects that, and I wasn’t paying for extras I didn’t need. Pets are welcome, though there’s no dog park, and families might find it a bit dull since there’s nothing for kids to do. For me, the simplicity was part of the charm. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, with moderate road noise from Route 7 and occasional train and barge traffic along the Ohio River. I actually enjoyed the sounds—they added character. There’s also a nearby church whose bells I found lovely. Most of the other campers were long‑term workers who kept to themselves and were consistently respectful. I rarely saw anyone, which made the whole stay feel peaceful and private. The location is great if you need essentials: gas, ice cream, a post office, and even the occasional food truck. Scenic views and parks are close by, and I stayed here mainly because my family lives nearby and I’ve always loved the area. The staff made the experience even better. Paul greeted me when I arrived, helped me pick a great site, and even assisted with unhooking. Max, the owner, stopped by on the weekend with a packet of local attractions and chatted for a bit. Both were incredibly friendly and welcoming. As for pros, the location, views, and price are hard to beat. The cons are pretty mild—no trees to buffer the road noise and sites that could be a bit roomier—but nothing that ruined the stay. Remote workers, vacationers, and anyone craving a quiet retreat will feel right at home here. My work‑from‑RV score was excellent across connectivity, noise, and comfort, and I’d absolutely work remotely here again. In the end, I genuinely loved my time at this campground. The owner and manager were wonderful, the grounds were well maintained, and the no‑frills vibe fit me perfectly. I fully plan to make this a regular summer stop.

      Hocking River RV Park

Scenic, easy in/out and on the river

Stayed here 4 nights, pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43’ fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material). Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river. Bath house is just ok - not great, not gross. Close proximity to lots of hiking but Hocking Hills itself has become so crowded… don’t come if you want to get away from people.

      Hocking Hills KOA Holiday

      Great first time KOA experience

We have never stayed at a KOA before and were very happy with this campground. The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. We are first-time owners of a 29 ft Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. It offered little in the way of privacy, which was the only negative about the whole experience. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site. They also deliver wood directly to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. The front office includes a little gift shop, ice cream, and pizza. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails, and about 12 miles from Logan. The little road going up to the campground is VERY bumpy. It's not the campground road, it belongs to the Township, so its completely out of their ability to make improvements. This was only our second time out in our fifth wheel camper so it was a little scary, but we just drove slow and our truck handled it just fine. We will definitely be back to this wonderful campground as we love Hocking Hills.

      Salt Fork State Park Campground

      Great fall camping

Dated, but pretty clean bath\shower building with clothes washer and dryer ($2). Sites in C-loop are far enough apart to not feel too crammed together. Power pedestal has 20, 30 and 50 amp service. 30 amp worked fine. Lots of trails, allowing dogs on leash. True, other amenities are a drive of at least a couple miles to get to. ATT service was fine for streaming using ROKU and my phone as a hotspot. Paved, level pads, but not long enough for largest trailers. Check size if you have one. Sites at South end of loop get the most shade

      Great Ohio State Park Campground

Amazing trails walkable right from the campground. Old mans cave, upper & lower falls. Bathroom was clean. Showers were ok. My site 108 was not deep, but was wide. Great for my 5X9 travel trailer, but probably not good for a big rig. Shaded & right near the shower house was a plus.

      Big Sycamore Family Campground

      Great small family campground

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here! Some sites are full hook up, some sites are electric and water, and some are primitive. The dump station is easily accessible if you need it. 5 acres with everything we could need. The owners were amazing. Very friendly and helpful! They had only owned the campground for 2 weeks and were in the process of making several improvements. The shower house and bathrooms were clean and adequate. There is a small playground for kids. It is pet friendly. There is a nice sized pool for summer (we camped in October so it was closed for the season). Located within a short drive (about 10 miles/15 minutes) from everything Hocking Hills has to offer. There is even a restaurant close by that will deliver to your campsite. Kroger and Walmart are within 5-7 minutes driving for supplies. The only downside is that it is close to a highway so at night you can hear the traffic. This didn’t bother us so much but might be a problem for some.

    Guide to Blue Rock

RV camping options near Blue Rock, Ohio span across southeastern Ohio's rolling hills and river valleys. The region features several campgrounds situated along the Hocking and Muskingum rivers with varying terrain and amenities. Winter temperatures often drop below freezing, while summer camping typically requires advance planning due to limited availability at the more popular locations.

    What to do

River activities: Riversedge Campground offers kayak and canoe rentals with convenient drop-off service upstream. "We chose rivers edge for our annual father son getaway and we were not disappointed. The tent sites are right next to the water and there is a beach and dock nearby also. If you decide to rent a kayak they will even drop you off upstream to start your trip," notes Ken P.

Swimming options: Lakeview RV Park features a small swimming lake with additional water recreation. "Small swimming lake! Canoe rental and jet pack 'skiing'," mentions Robin R. The lake provides a cooling option during hot summer months.

Hiking trails: Shadow Lake RV Resort sits on 100 acres with trail access. "There are several ponds located on the property and trails meander along and around the 100 acre property. We see deer almost every evening. There are a couple hiking trails nearby (Piatt Park and Raven's Rock) which have incredible rock formations in the gorges," explains Darla.

    What campers like

Waterfront camping: Riversedge Campground offers tent sites directly on the river. "We stayed at one of the riverside tent sites. It was beautiful!!! The sites are well maintained & the bathrooms are clean," reports salena.

Affordable riverfront sites: Harris RV Park provides economical full hookup options. "Right on the Ohio River with full hookup for $25 a night?! Full hookup alone is worth more than 25 bucks," notes Clean Slate D., highlighting the value available at smaller campgrounds in the region.

Clean facilities: Multiple campgrounds maintain well-kept shower houses. "The shower house was clean and freshly painted," reports Ken P. about Riversedge Campground, while other reviewers note similar standards at several area facilities.

    What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds require equipment for leveling. "Pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43' fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material)," notes Tamara W. about Hocking River RV Park.

Highway noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience traffic noise. "It's also right alongside State Route 33, so you hear freeway traffic constantly. Trucks and motorcycles woke me up all night, AND there is a train track right across the river (about 200 yards away)," cautions Megan M.

No-reservation policies: Lakeview RV Park operates on a first-come basis. "We got a nice pull through site for a quick stop over my way to upper Michigan," mentions Bucky W., suggesting early arrival for best site selection.

    Tips for camping with families

Limited activities at some campgrounds: Many rv sites near Blue Rock, Ohio focus on access rather than amenities. "If your taking kids there is nothing at the campground to do. Fishing is ok but the banks of the river are high," warns Joseph E. about Hocking River RV Park.

Consider distance to attractions: Ashland RV Park offers proximity to town while maintaining rural character. "Very close to the nice little downtown Marietta, Ohio but still very rural location," shares James P., making it suitable for families wanting both nature and access to services.

Fire ring placement varies: Fire setups differ across campgrounds. "Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river," explains Tamara W., something parents should consider for nighttime campfire monitoring.

    Tips from RVers

Winter accessibility: Some campgrounds operate year-round. "I stayed here in the worse month possible for camping in ohio but the owner made it a great experience. Shower house was clean and warm," reports Blaine V. about Shadow Lake RV Resort, noting its winter viability.

Entry procedures: Many smaller rv sites near Blue Rock require cash payment. "The owner, Max, met us with a welcome packet in a reusable bag. Cash or Check only," shares Clean Slate D. about Harris RV Park.

Proximity to interstate: Several campgrounds offer convenient overnight stops. "Staff is very friendly and we got a nice pull through site for a quick stop over. Easy in/out," notes Bucky W. about Lakeview RV Park, making it practical for travelers passing through the region.
