Several RV parks near Sunbury, North Carolina provide varying levels of accommodation for motorhomes and travel trailers. Treeside RV Park offers 51 sites with electric hookups, fifty-amp service, water connections, and a sanitary dump station. The Virginia Beach KOA features 353 sites open year-round with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer connections, accommodating big rigs with pull-through sites. North Landing Beach Campground provides full hookup sites with concrete pads and is accessible by both road and boat. The Colonies RV and Travel Park has 22 sites with 13 offering full hookups, concrete pads, and 30-50 amp electrical service. "Sites are a little closer than I'm used to but it's not bad because of the way the sites are on an angle," noted one visitor about the Virginia Beach KOA.

Between Virginia Beach and Williamston, most RV parks maintain year-round operations, though availability tightens during summer beach season. Cell service varies significantly across the region, with T-Mobile generally providing 1-2 bars at most locations while Verizon offers stronger coverage. Many parks provide amenities specifically for RV travelers including sanitary dump stations, propane availability, and laundry facilities. Pet policies generally allow leashed animals throughout the campgrounds. During heavy rain, some parks experience drainage issues, particularly in the pull-through sections. One camper shared that "roads are decrepit with major potholes and in need of repair. The roads and some sites flood when raining," highlighting the importance of checking recent reviews before booking during wet seasons.

      Fort Eustis Recreation Area

      Excellent Bargain

      Season: year round

      Reservations: 757-878-2610 or 2565

      Pets: Leashed

      Sites: 9 $20.00 with w/e/s

      Cabins: 5 $75.00 daily

Picnic table, grill, playground, bowling, paintball, tennis, propane, water, electric, trash, laundry, showers, fishing

It was as if they have two sections in the campground. One section seems to have long term and then the section where the 9 sites are is nice and open with many mature trees. There is nice separation between sites. I loved the area but I am a country girl at heart. Nice to be in the heart of the military. BTW"GREAT" Military Transportation Museum. The commissary is fantastic, didn't go to the PX.

This is a private campground and you do not have to be military to stay. It really is in a great location.

Beach, dump, firewood, showers, fire pit, store, ice picnic table, playground, toilets, concrete pads, horseshoes, trash. A wonderful spot for a campground on the Historic Fort Monroe. There is no gate to have to pass through to reach the campground. It is located on the far end and on a beautiful flat grassy area with beautiful mature trees. Well maintained and very quiet. While there you must check out the Fort Monroe Casement Museum. You have water on two sides with excellent walking area.

      Virginia Beach KOA

      Great place

Great location, very close to the beach. Staff was pleasant, and accomodations were nice. Some site are a bit close to a busy road, and you get road noise. But if you ask to be in the back of park, it is quiet. Paved roads and have premium sites that are paved, with concrete pads and beautiful furniture, along with cooking fire pit. Other pull thru sites are gravel and grass. Wifi was awesome. Best yet at campsite. Very clean. Would recommend this site

      Isle of Wight Family Campground

      Nice and Very Quiet!

This is a really nice campground. They have on-site bathrooms/showers as well as laundry. It's mostly RV spots but they also allow tent camping and have a couple cabins available for rent. They have a dog park area, playground and pool. The store has items for purchase and a gathering room. They do potlucks and get togethers often for the campers. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. You can purchase firewood and propane on-site. Each spot has a concrete padded area with a picnic table and fire pit. It is a little ways out of town in any direction bit it's very nice and quiet out here as you're surrounded by woods. They also have a fishing pond and trails on-site. This really is one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to! Definitely recommend.

      Holiday Trav-L-Park

Touristy Campground with shuttle to VB oceanfront

This is a convenient place to stay close to the oceanfront if you’re going to be spending time along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. They have lots of amenities as well as putt-put and several pools.

There are various sections and some of the higher priced sites are very well kept but the newer pull through sites in the rear of the park flooded really badly when we were there and we had constant construction from backhoes and building crews, which took away front the relaxation somewhat. The tent sites are fairly nice unless it rains, which means floating on your air mattress. We had a fairly good experience with our travel trailer but it would have been miserable with a tent setup.

We’ve stayed a couple times prior to getting our camper and have had a good experience overall. The comfort stations are fairly clean but some are nice than others and you don’t know until after arrival if the closest ones are the better ones. There’s quite a division between the fancy side with full hookups and the sites with partial hookups.

Lovely small campground located inside a National Park land. Full hookup sites are named after the original 13 colonies. Nicely situated between Williamsburg, Hampton, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Tent sites, group accommodations, store, firewood, pavilion for rent and typical rv resort activities including corn hole, pickle ball......

Great RV Park near the beach

This is a large modern RV park with all the usual amenities and then some! Full hookups, lots of pull-thru sites, cable tv, multiple pools, multiple camp stores, playgrounds, mini golf, and more. All without leaving the property. Staff even collects trash daily. Sites are a little close, but everyone we met was very friendly. You should know that the park is under the flight path of the local naval base, so expect jet noise, but it wasn’t terrible during our stay. We stayed in the off season, so I think the place is a bit more manicured in the summer. The best perk is a free parking lot right at the beach just for people staying here. It was a short drive and a very nice perk.
