Verizon cell service varies significantly across the area, with stronger signals near Watkins Glen and spottier coverage in rural locations. Between wineries and state parks, several campgrounds offer propane sales and firewood delivery directly to sites. A recent review noted that "water pressure was good (used a reducer) and we had no problems with the 50-AMP service." Pets are generally welcome at RV parks throughout the region, though some enforce breed restrictions or require current vaccination records. During fall foliage season, advance reservations are essential as sites fill quickly with weekend travelers touring the wine country.

Robert H. Treman State Park Campground

    Good location

Location: This park is close to Ithaca which was the best part. Trails and Natural Features: We loved the waterfall, swimming area (seasonal so closed when we stayed), and the fall colors. Sites: They have very few electric sites so we decided to boondock. It surprised me that all the full hookup sites were reserved but very people actually showed up for their reservations while we stayed. Lame. And heads up that if you don’t stay in the big clearing for big rigs, there are tight turns between trees to get in and out of the non-electric sites. We ended up making a back-in site into a pull-through site… whoops. Starlink: I work remotely so internet is important. We weren’t camping in the clearing because those sites were booked, but even the Starlink struggled where we were and I ended up working from the library in town. So heads up if you need internet. Bathrooms: They were spacious but older. Temperature in the showers was tricky. Hot is cold and cold it hot. Cool stuff: They had compost bins and provide bags for all campers. That’s cool!

    Canandaigua-Rochester KOA

    Perimeter & Lakeside Are Best

KOA Canandaigua/Rochester NY: (Scale 1- bad, 5-Very good (70 yr olds in 17’ trailer). I rate based on desire for at least a moderate wilderness type experience w at least some camp site privacy. Road Noise: There will some noise at sites near Town Line Rd. Traffic is minimal Through Traffic in campground: None Electric Hookup: Yes Sewer Hookup: Some sites. Dump Station: Yes Potable Water Available: At the site.
Bathroom/ Showers: Individual shower/toilet rooms. VERY clean. Pull Throughs: Yes Cell Service (AT&T): 2 bars.
Setting: Parklike - typical KOA Weather: Highs are pin the low 50s during our stay Bugs: None this time of year. Host: Yes. Johnny on the spot.

    Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground

Great campground in PA northern tier

The owners do a fantastic job keeping the campground shipshape. Restrooms/showers are immaculate any time of day. Heated swimming pool and the splash pad for kiddies is spotless as well. Nice, pull-through on gravel pad withfull-hookups that can take large rigs. Lake is lovely for fishing/kayaks/canoes. Seasonal campers are tidy. Only a few tent sites with water & electricity tucked into woods. Larger pull-through sites don't get a lot of shade, but there are back-in sites for shorter campers in wooded sites and shaded lake front, as well. Campground store sells ice-cream & nachos and supplies. Campground is pretty quiet during the week, but fills up on weekends with guests using own (or renting) golf carts. Activities on weekends. The campground sits atop one of NEPA's "rolling hills" in quiet, rural farming area. Cell service is spotty. Local winery/cafe just down the road for tastings and lunch. Row boat, paddle boat rentals.

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

Beautiful new spacious RV resort in excellent location.

We arrived on Saturday, 10.8.22 and are staying for a week. This is a delightful location. Rachel and Doug are cheerful, attentive, and very personable owners who are on-site at almost all times. This park just opened this year, so we checked in at an entrance building that they're using until their primary building is complete. We were greeted with delicious cookies, our site(#9) backs up to a wooded area(with a hiking path buried in there) with a lot of space. We booked early, which was a good thing because they were 100% full for Indigenous People's Day. We chose this site because there was a lot of room around it and we're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing, so that's not an issue. It's still nice to be on the outskirts. We also chose this section per a review we read to be away from the main road noise, but there really isn't much road noise to worry about, anyway. The WiFi is strong and consistent. We're using 30amps, but they also have 20 and 50amp service to each site. The water pressure is great. The bath house is new and very comfortable. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and lots of room for big rigs. We watched Doug neaten up sites after other RV's vacated, which shows an attention to detail we don't often find. They also drive by each site every morning to collect trash and recycling. The sunsets are spectacular over the lake(we can't see the lake from here, but it's close). There are numerous award-winning wineries surrounding us and up and down the lake. We're headed out for tastings today. We've been hiking the last few days- Watkins Glen State Park- Gorge Trail(go early or it gets REALLY crowded), Taughannock State Park- Gorge& North Ridge Trail over on Cayuga Lake, and a concert(Rufus Wainwright) at Point of the Bluff Winery over on Keuka Lake. We stopped afterward for dinner in Hammondsport at Timber Stone Grill which was truly wonderful. That's about 35- 45 minutes away. Lots more hiking trails to do in the National Forest and surrounding areas. And there's Watkins Glen, a charming town just minutes away. We highly recommend Finger Lakes RV Resort and we'll be back!

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Simple

The only Finger Lakes National Forest designated campground, Blueberry Patch offers a secluded experience in the heart of this sometimes overlooked beautiful geographic region in the State of New York. This campground offers a simple experience, with fire rings and picnic tables at each site and seems to accommodate just tent and small campers. Vault toilets available. On a week day in early summer, 3 of the 9 campsites we’re occupied. Can see it filling up on weekends. Enjoy!

    Ferenbaugh Campground

    Relaxing place to stay

This CG has two distinct sections. Near the entrance is the Pull Through Area. Behind a row of trees there are several sites with full hookups including cable TV and Wi-Fi. The sites are open, reasonably level, and a good size. The other sites are in the woods, most of these sites do not have sewer connections. There is a honey wagon service available. We camped with a relative who was new and we were teaching them how to operate their camper. We had a couple of dry days then some rain. Still was a great teaching/learning experience.

Make sure you use a water filter, there was a lot of sediment in the water when we were there. See pictures of 4 days on a new cartridge.

We had a fantastic sunrise one morning.

    Keuka Lake State Park Campground

    Wonderful Finger Lakes Camping

Large grassy sites with privacy between the sites. Most sites have a good level gravel pad to park on.

We stayed in the non-electric loop with a small travel trailer, but there are electric sites available. Spigots for water are spaced well enough that with a few lengths you can fill up.

The hike to the beach wasn't too bad through the woods, with ones being a grassy walking path and the other being a dirt trail through the woods. The beach is typically crowded.

This is a place I would always recommend.

    Ives Run

    Best campground in Northcentral PA

Taking everything into consideration, it’s hard to find a nicer campground to stay for a night or two weeks.

    • clean, well maintained and monitored.

    • large sites on macadam pads. Large fields behind most sites for activities.

    • full hook ups available

    • numerous hiking trails, large lake for boating, fishing and swimming.

    • centrally located between Mansfield, Wellsboro and Corning

    *pet friendly. Alcohol allowed

the only draw back is that it fills up quickly and you need to reserve many months ahead of time especially for holidays. Not group camping friendly because of the reservation system. No pavilions for group activities within the Campground

Guide to Burdett

Seneca Lake forms the western boundary of Burdett, New York, with nearby campgrounds situated between 800-1,200 feet elevation. The camping season typically runs May through October, with fall colors peaking in mid-October. Many campgrounds in this wine country region offer direct access to hiking trails and vineyard tours.

What to do

Hiking waterfall trails: The Finger Lakes region features numerous gorge trails with accessible waterfalls. At Taughannock Falls State Park Campground, "the gorge hikes are moderate and invigorating" with educational signage along trails explaining geological formations.

Wine trail excursions: Several campgrounds provide direct vineyard access. At Finger Lakes RV Resort, campers enjoy "walking paths from the campground to two different wineries" with dozens more within short driving distance.

Lakefront recreation: Public beaches and boat launches provide water access. Smith Memorial Park has "a boat launch/docks, picnic pavilion, and a lovely view of the sunset" making it ideal for evening picnics after a day of exploring.

What campers like

Site spacing: Unlike some crowded parks, certain campgrounds offer generous spacing. Finger Lakes RV Resort "sites are very large and spread out" with "easy maneuverability" for larger vehicles.

Bathroom facilities: Clean restrooms rank high on camper priorities. One reviewer noted that the facilities at Finger Lakes RV Resort are "immaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort" while another mentioned the "bath house is new and very comfortable."

Quiet evenings: Blueberry Patch Campground offers a peaceful retreat described as the "quietest place on earth" where guests "woke up to thrushes singing and fell asleep to nightingales and owls calling."

What you should know

Water availability: Not all campgrounds provide water hookups. At Blueberry Patch Campground, there are "no drinking water (also no streams for filtering water…so come prepared)" making advance planning essential.

Site reservations: During peak season, especially fall foliage, availability becomes limited. Watkins Glen/Corning KOA fills quickly as "we arrived late on a Thursday night but were able to find one spot" with weekends typically at capacity.

Seasonal businesses: Many supporting businesses operate limited hours. "Both times I've been to this campground, the sites have been clean and well maintained" but nearby services may close early or operate weekend-only schedules outside peak season.

Tips for camping with families

Campground amenities: Some parks offer extensive children's activities. Watkins Glen/Corning KOA provides "climbing wall, pool, putt putt, giant bouncy thing, basketball hoop, playground" making it popular for families despite being "super crowded and loud."

Swimming options: Lake access varies by location. Taughannock Falls State Park has "a swimming area, which goes to 12 feet deep and has a dock to jump off of" that's walkable from campground sites.

Educational opportunities: Several parks include nature programs. Taughannock Falls offers "lots of educational posters along the way to keep you informed of what you were seeing and the history about how it was created" making hikes informative for children.

Tips from RVers

Hookup positioning: At Taughannock Falls, "check out which side the hookups are on. Some not situated on the right side so you'll need extra long cords" to reach utilities at certain sites.

Site selection: Lakeview Campsites has a "gravel inclined access road that may not be for new RV owners" requiring experience navigating steeper terrain for rv sites near Burdett, New York.

Site dimensions: When researching rv camping near Burdett, New York, note that Finger Lakes RV Resort provides "level sites" that are "open, reasonably level, and a good size" accommodating larger rigs with less maneuvering required.
