Best RV Parks & Resorts near Belmont, NY

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks in western New York provide full hookup options near Belmont. Maple Lane RV Park in Cuba features 50-amp electric, water and sewer hookups for travel trailers and motorhomes, operating from April through October. Misty Mountain RV Park, also in Cuba, offers electric, sewer and water connections with access for larger vehicles, though its big rig accessibility is limited. Plum Good Campground maintains 25 designated RV sites with 30/50-amp electrical hookups, sewer and water connections, accommodating larger motorhomes on its spacious lots. Jellystone Park of Western New York in North Java provides 229 sites with full hookups, including 30/50-amp service across its family-oriented grounds. "We stayed here after spending the day hiking at Letchworth. Got in around 6pm and got a nice site. Very convenient to I-86 and also town of Cuba."

Most parks in the region require reservations, particularly during summer weekends and fall foliage season. Dump stations are available at several facilities, including Letchworth State Park Campground, though not all smaller parks offer this service. Cell coverage varies significantly, with one visitor noting, "Cell coverage was great in the morning but by 3pm each day it was saturated somehow." Pets are welcome at most RV parks, though restrictions apply at certain facilities. Winter camping options are extremely limited, with nearly all parks closing between late October and early May. RV storage is not typically available at campgrounds in the area. Propane refill services are limited, requiring trips to nearby towns for refueling. Many parks have gravel sites rather than paved pads, occasionally requiring leveling blocks depending on terrain.

    Colden Lakes Resort

    Beautiful Campground

This a beautiful campground with very friendly staff. Our site was a level gravel back in site. The back in sites are very wide and roomy, the pull through sites are a little closer together. There are 4 small pristine lakes. It’s about an hour from Niagara Falls and out in the Country, very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely come back

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Beautiful place

Letchworth is absolutely stunning. The views are beautiful, however the scenic areas are at least a 10 minute drive from the campground. The park is massive.

There is a huge variation in site sizes. We lucked out and got a large site with privacy and an area for the kids to run around, however the site directly across from us was little more than the gravel pad and fire pit. Some of the sites are right on top of each other. Great for group camping, not so much if you want any privacy.

Only two out of the 8 loops (200 and 700 loops) have updated bathrooms (single toilet with handheld showers in half of the bathrooms). The others loops have older facilities with three traditional toilet stalls and two showers.

We loved our site but would’ve preferred to stay in a loop with the updated bath houses as we have younger children and a tent trailer.

All sites have electricity. Some loops are pet friendly, some are pet free. The camp store has a good selection of necessities, albeit expensive for discount brands. The pool is 4-5 miles down the road from the camping area.

    Would absolutely camp here again.

    Leonard Harrison State Park Campground

Site 17 Site maps can be deceptive

General: This is a small 28-site campground located on the east rim of the canyon; seven of the sites are electric and six of them are pet-friendly. We reserved site 17 after looking at the site map because it looked like there was a generous amount of separation between this site and the surrounding ones, however, upon arrival, this was not the case. Although some of the sites are generous in size, there is no physical separation between them. Site 1 would, in my opinion, be the best of the non-electric sites for privacy. Sites 6 and 8, while close to the bathhouse, would likely have people walking through your site to get to the bathhouse. Campers have worn a path between these sites to access it. Props to this park for having recycling bins for plastic, glass, and aluminum. While this park is open year-round, the campground is only open from the second Friday in April through the third weekend in October.

Site Quality: The parking pad is delineated by rocks but not very clearly defined. There is a generously sized picnic table and fire ring to complete the grassy site.

Bathhouse: Very clean (we have found most Pennsylvania state parks excel in their bathhouse cleanliness). Hot water (definitely appreciated on this cold weekend!) and one handicap accessible shower (but it was too cold while we were there to want to take a shower although it did look inviting).

Activities: Two hiking trails on the east rim where the campground is located. The Turkey Path was closed about ¾ mile down (by the waterfall) due to storm damage. Although the trail was clearly marked closed at this point, many chose to ignore it and continue on☹. This trail is challenging as it has steep switchbacks down and back up again and it is narrow and slippery but definitely worth doing. The Overlook Trail, while not long (less than a mile), is also challenging with down and uphills. If you don’t want to (or can’t) access these trails, there is an observation platform where you can enjoy great views of the canyon. All of these trails are accessible from the campground. There is also a long multi-use trail for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. There is a nice playground accessible from the campground.

Conclusion: We were here the last weekend the campground was open and while the fall foliage was not experiencing the best year, it was still very beautiful at this park, and we enjoyed the hikes.

Jellystone Park™ of Western New York

Camping resort in the middle of nowhere

There was a great WiFi connection, so it was difficult to get my boys to go explore! We have a 35 foot travel trailer and had zero difficulty backing into a W/E spot. Gravel pads, decent space between RVs. We did need our extra hose to reach our spigot but I think that was unusual. The dump station was easy to get to and clean when we left.

Playgrounds, beach, mini-golf, dog park, bounce pillow, basketball, volleyball, movie nights, wagon rides twice a day with Jellystone characters, lots of daily activities, water park, kayaks, SUP’s, canoes, LIFEGUARDS!... ALL INCLUDED. My kids did mini-golf 4 times. Snack bar (with good wings and delivers!). Golf cart rentals. What was I most impressed with? Trash pickup. You put it in front of your site, somebody picked it up. Any time of day.

There were three types of cabins I saw, but didn’t go inside. You could fish in the pond. The website says Laser Tag but we didn’t explore that far. The town is teeny tiny so no good grocery store around. The grounds were well kept. Niagara Falls were a little more than an hour away. Great day trip!

We we will come back next year and bring our cousins!

    Ives Run

    Best campground in Northcentral PA

Taking everything into consideration, it’s hard to find a nicer campground to stay for a night or two weeks.

    • clean, well maintained and monitored.

    • large sites on macadam pads. Large fields behind most sites for activities.

    • full hook ups available

    • numerous hiking trails, large lake for boating, fishing and swimming.

    • centrally located between Mansfield, Wellsboro and Corning

    *pet friendly. Alcohol allowed

the only draw back is that it fills up quickly and you need to reserve many months ahead of time especially for holidays. Not group camping friendly because of the reservation system. No pavilions for group activities within the Campground

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill

    Inexpensive, Peaceful.

I've stayed here on 3 separate occasions, twice in RV 12 and once in RV 6.

I used the 30 AMP hookup and had zero issues.

Beautiful playground for my son to enjoy and meet other kiddos. Deer, chipmunks and rabbits will say hi in the early and late hours.

    Large dumpsters near entrance.

Dump stations are present, but I haven't used them yet.

Potable water is present at a small spigot.

The washrooms facility is very close and speaking for the men's side, it had 2 stalls, 2 urinals, 2 showers, multiple sinks, and a sturdy baby changing station.

Hiking trails with gorgeous views of the valley within a 5 min walk of my campsite.

Guide to Belmont

Campgrounds near Belmont, New York offer diverse options in the Allegheny Plateau region, where elevations range between 1,400-2,500 feet. The area experiences distinct seasons with cold, snowy winters that typically close most campgrounds from late October through April. Located in Allegany County, camping options include sites along creeks, in wooded settings, and near local attractions like Letchworth State Park.

What to do

Creek activities: Several campgrounds feature creek access for seasonal recreation. At Woodstream Campsite, visitors enjoy "rafting on the creek" and many sites are "right on the creek" with direct water access, providing natural water play options during summer months.

Hiking opportunities: The region connects to multiple trail systems, particularly around Letchworth State Park Campground, where "within a short walk were many hiking trails, an old-school fitness path, and a stellar playground." One camper noted the park gives visitors "the distinct feel that she is on a parkway, not unlike Shenendoah, or Blue Ridge."

Wildlife viewing: The natural setting provides opportunities for wildlife observation, particularly at more secluded sites. At Jones Pond Campground, campers report "watching loons, herons, and bald eagles" and mention that "these sites are great for camping, kayaking, fishing (plenty of catfish!)."

What campers like

Seasonal celebrations: Holiday-themed weekends are popular at many campgrounds. Jellystone Park of Western New York hosts special events where "they have the best fireworks for July 4 and their Halloween weekends are full of fun and fright!" Another camper noted they "went on the 4th of July and they had amazing fireworks and activities galore for the kids."

Secluded sites: For those seeking quiet RV sites near Belmont, New York, Evergreen Trails Campground offers more private options. A camper noted, "If you want some peace get one of the sites in the woods and have some time to yourself!" with another mentioning "the scenery was absolute beautiful" and "the sites are very secluded."

Proximity to attractions: Many campers appreciate how the area's campgrounds serve as bases for exploring regional highlights. One visitor at High Pines RV Park mentioned, "The park is close to the Allegheny Reservoir and the Kinzua Bridge," while another appreciated how it's "located near a lot of great attractions and mostly the natural beauty."

What you should know

Site variation: Campground terrain and amenities vary significantly across RV parks and camping areas near Belmont. A camper at Evergreen Trails noted, "I wish I had known the more wooded sites were water and electric. I had full hookup so it was kinda open for my liking." Sites at the same facility can offer dramatically different experiences.

Reservation requirements: Most campgrounds fill quickly during peak seasons. At Woodstream Campsite, visitors warned they "have to stay at least 2 nights" and some found communication challenging, noting "employees say one thing, then boss charges me even though I was told it was okay."

Bathroom facilities: Bathhouse quality varies between parks. While Letchworth's "bathrooms are practically luxurious by most camping standards, with single-use restroom/showers available at all hours," other campgrounds like Woodstream have "outdated, but clean" facilities where "some of the showers cost a quarter and some don't, which was peculiar."

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Campgrounds with programmed activities keep children entertained. At Jellystone Park, "there is something for everyone at this campground. They made recent additions that are awesome," including "free putt putt" and "a beach to their pond" where swimming is allowed.

Playgrounds and water features: Multiple recreational amenities enhance family stays. Woodstream Campsite offers "playground, swimming pond, camp store, fishing trout stream throughout the campground. Miniature golf, game room, basketball court."

Seasonal programming: Family-oriented special events occur throughout the camping season. One Woodstream visitor went "during their Christmas in July weekend. They had a good list of activities from cookie decorating to visits with Santa."

Tips from RVers

Site selection considerations: When booking RV sites near Belmont, NY, consider your specific needs. At Maple Lane RV Park, travelers found it "very convenient to I-86 and also town of Cuba," making it ideal for those wanting easy access to services.

Big rig accessibility: Not all campgrounds accommodate larger motorhomes. High Pines RV Park visitors noted they have "very nice spacious sites" in "the full hookup back in section," though some sites "only had 30A power. Most seem to be that way. Looks like some updates are on the way."

Overnight convenience: RV travelers sometimes need single-night options between destinations. One camper at High Pines "just pulled in here last minute feeling tired and I was able to get a perfect spot in a lovely field all to myself," showing flexibility for transient RVers.
