    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill

    Inexpensive, Peaceful.

I've stayed here on 3 separate occasions, twice in RV 12 and once in RV 6.

I used the 30 AMP hookup and had zero issues.

Beautiful playground for my son to enjoy and meet other kiddos. Deer, chipmunks and rabbits will say hi in the early and late hours.

    Large dumpsters near entrance.

Dump stations are present, but I haven't used them yet.

Potable water is present at a small spigot.

The washrooms facility is very close and speaking for the men's side, it had 2 stalls, 2 urinals, 2 showers, multiple sinks, and a sturdy baby changing station.

Hiking trails with gorgeous views of the valley within a 5 min walk of my campsite.

    Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground

    Kid friendly but Bee Problem

We had a lot of fun here and there’s a lot of activities for kids I would typically give this campsite 5 stars but our only problem was there were bees everywhere. I get some bees are apart of the camping experience and nature but we’ve never ran into this problem elsewhere. They were all over the campground it was very unpleasant and there was a nest under the playground we did advise management of.

    Hamlin Beach State Park Campground

    Relaxing 2 weeks

The camp store is closed along with no firewood and no laundry.

We stayed for 2 weeks and it was so relaxing. We loved biking through the loops and by the beach at the park. There was live music at the park during the week. The campground has an activity room full of things to do. As a state park, there are a lot of different people with different values, so be ready for the occasional obnoxious family. Our site was secluded and in the pines. We love it here and will definitely do this again!

    Stay Bristol Woodlands

    Well maintained and friendly Staff!

Campground is adorable, you can see a lot of other campers, but the spots are spaced out. Showers were nice, didn’t get to try the pool out as it was a quick stopover, but this seems like a fun place to spend some time

    Beaver Meadow Family Campground

    Ridiculous pool rule

The campgrounds are nice. The staff, friendly. Brought our RV so I didn’t see the bathrooms. We had a site that was “lake view” which was funny because it’s a pond. It was stocked so fishing was fun. They have a nice heated pool. My only real issue is the ridiculous two adult pool rule if you are with kids. We spent all day at the rodeo. We came back ready to swim after being in the sun all day. Of course my toddler fell asleep so I stayed with him at the campsite and my husband took our other two kids to the pool. They were able to swim for 15 mins before the other people who were at the pool took off. So it was just my husband and kids left. The lady working in the office came out and told them they had to get out because“there has to be two adults and one has to stay on deck”. Like, what?!? Seriously? That’s the stupidest rule I’ve ever heard. So he gets my very disappointed kids out of the pool and they are just hanging out pool side hoping for basically a stranger to come swim so they can swim. They waited nearly an hour before they got defeated and came back to the camper. Stupid rule. I’ve never seen any campground ever have that rule. If you are that worried about a solo parent taking care of their kids, hire a life guard. Or make that pool rule known prior to booking. My kids had life jackets on and my husband is CPR certified. Literally will never come here again because of this rule. Lame lame LAME.

What to do

Fishing at multiple locations: Timberline Lake Park provides a peaceful fishing environment with both shoreline and boat access. "This is a great spot! Their little cabins are really cute and not too expensive too!" notes Mariah G. about this campground located 19 miles south of Adams Basin.

Beach access and swimming: Hamlin Beach State Park Campground offers excellent water recreation opportunities during summer months. "Great access to the shores of Lake Ontario from campground. Also few mile stretch of beaches. Short but pretty nature trail through the woods opposite the lake as well that goes through hard words and into wetlands," mentions Erin T.

Hiking and biking trails: Webster Park provides extensive trail networks through wooded areas. According to Catherine, "I absolutely loved my time here with my son! Camp sites are private and have everything you need for tent camping! Showers and bathrooms clean! Sink available for dishes. Playground. Lots of beautiful trails! I can't wait to go back next week!"

What campers like

Private, secluded sites: Many campgrounds in the Adams Basin area offer sites with good separation between neighbors. At Hamlin Beach State Park Campground, Jason reports: "Our particular site was a little snug getting into but opened up nicely behind the tree line at the road. Overall very nice, roomy, wooded, private sites with a nice beach not too far from the sites."

Lake views and sunsets: Several campgrounds provide views of Lake Ontario. Rino S. notes about Hamlin Beach, "The park is flanked by a nature trail on the south side and a trail on the north side. The park is big. If you're going to do the trails I recommend a bike. The trail on the north side is refered to as the devil's nose. Beautiful sunsets can be seen from that vantage point."
