Best RV Parks & Resorts near Englewood, NJ

RV camping near Englewood, New Jersey offers several options for motorhome travelers seeking convenient access to New York City and surrounding attractions. Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City provides 90 sites with water and electric hookups (both 30 and 50 amp service), though it lacks sewer connections at individual sites. This big-rig friendly facility includes a sanitary dump station, showers, and toilets, making it a practical base for exploring Manhattan. According to one RV visitor, "Getting in and out is not for someone in a brand new 45' travel trailer. Know your rig and know how to maneuver it in tight spaces." Another reviewer described it as "literally a parking lot with water and electric hookups" where "larger rigs will barely have a yard." For those willing to travel farther, Black Bear RV Park in Florida, NY offers 74 full hookup sites that accommodate large rigs, with both back-in and pull-through options. Mountain Top RV Park in northern New Jersey features newly upgraded infrastructure with 50 amp electrical service and modernized sewer systems, providing a more comfortable camping experience.

Road access varies significantly between RV parks in the region, with some requiring careful navigation through urban areas. Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly at Liberty Harbor where proximity to NYC creates high demand despite premium pricing ($120+ per night). Most RV campgrounds in the area are seasonal, typically operating from April through October or November, though Black Bear RV Park remains open year-round. Dump stations are available at most facilities, but their accessibility for larger rigs can be limited. Mahlon Dickerson Reservation offers paved, level sites with electric and water hookups plus a convenient dump station. Tri-State RV Park in Matamoras, PA provides an "easy on, easy off" location with pull-through sites that make it suitable for overnight stops. Cell service and Wi-Fi availability vary considerably between locations, with better connectivity generally found at private RV resorts.

    Blydenburgh County Park

    Big Rig Camping in Blydenburgh

We have a 42 ft 5th wheel toy hauler. A few Big Rig spots are available, but this is a Suffock Co Campground that is not well maintained. 2 miles of the Road have many areas of missing blacktop making a very rough ride with low branches. The dump station is basically not accessible to a big rig. Most of the longer sites were very difficult to level.

    Kymers Camping Resort

Fun, friendly & nestled in the woods

We stayed at Kymer's on a whim for a weekend, so we could be close to Mountain Creek for a Spartan Race. It truly exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This is a family friendly, camper-friendly place. Lots of seasonals- everyone waves, everyone stops to chat. This is what a campground should feel like. The sound of laughter and play sitting around the huge, clean pool was refreshing. Our site was Oak 10. It was level, good placement of electric water & sewer connects. Camp store has all the basics you might need. There is a brook that flows adjacent to the property. It's peaceful & magical. Pet friendly, although we didn't have our pup with us. We will be back again. I almost feel like I'm revealing a hidden gem with this post. 💎

    Mahlon Dickerson Reservation

    Nice, small, spacious campground

We stayed at site 15 for 5 days. The sites are nicely wooded, very well spaced, fairly level with 50A service and water hookup. Although the water spigots were shared between sites, they provide hose caddies that should reach most RV hookups. No sewer hookup, but there is a convenient dump station. There are no fire rings in the RV section, only raised grills. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekend did get busy. AT&T had ok data connection with 1-2 bars most of the time. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy. OTA TV was very inconsistent using an external omni antenna. There is no WiFi. There is a very nice network of trails in the reservation, most if not all were leashed dog friendly. There is a very nice restaurant, Stone Water, less than 10 miles away and is right on lake Hopatcong.

    Panther Lake Camping Resort

    Stayed all summer

We stayed at Panther Lake as full timers all season. Great during the week but very busy on weekends. Could be noisy with children not very well supervised.
Friendly, helpful staff. Cable TV poor when it rains. Cell service spotty all carriers. No internet at sites. Lake beautiful and pool nice.

    Mountain Top RV Park

    Great Stopover Campground

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Top and were were impressed by the exceptional experience and service provided by the owners. The newly upgraded camp infrastructure elevated the stay, providing amenities for comfort and entertainment. The family-friendly atmosphere was evident through the thoughtfully designed property, including an updated pool, playground, game room, and a brand-new pickleball court that added a unique touch to the stay. The investment in new 50amp wiring, upgraded sewer systems, and newer water lines  provided convenient camping experience. Overall, this campground exceeded expectations, offering a blend of modern convenience and family-oriented fun that made our stay memorable.

The video posted shows the full hook-up area. The water and electric sites and tent sites were tucked away in a more wooded environment.

    Panther Lake Camping Resort

    Great place for groups

Fun camping place to books groups. Very kid and pet friendly, lake to fish and kayak on, lots of activities, great pool and awesome hot tub. Only down side is that even though they say they have wifi, you can't hook up to it unless you are at the pavilion. And good luck getting cell service! its like a black hole of signals there. Otherwise, we really love this place!

    Heckscher State Park Campground

    Great Late Fall Weekend Cabin

This was a last-minute booking for us and we were delighted with the beachside cottage, with enough amenities that mom and dad did not worry we had their cutie with us for "camping". She's too little for backpacking into the woods but finally got to stay overnight and help with the campfire!

    Pros

    • Modern facility with full kitchen accessories (coffee maker, plates, wine opener, can opener, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, toaster, oven), sponge/dish liquid. Microwave.1
    • Clean interior, clean campground
    • modern cottage with propane fireplace, WiFi access, bathroom with shower, large screened in porch with bar height table and 4 chairs, deck with chaise lounges, two bedrooms (1 with 2 twin beds, 1 with full), coach, chairs, plenty of clean storage places and hooks. You have everything but bedding, food, drinks, and personal items.
    • cottages far enough away from each other
    • fire ring with Adirondack chairs
    • dumpster and recycling within walking distance
    • lots of bone dry firewood around for campfire
    • walkable beach
    • beautiful
    • wildlife: deer, rabbits, turtles

    Cons

    • a bit pricey
    • playground is driving distance not walking
