Great for families

I scored this a 4 because you can’t beat the price for area. However my biggest issue is the sand for all pull-throughs. They do offer full hookups that include cable if you have the outdoor wire. Plenty of activities for kids with park area and pool. They do also offer golf cart rental for those…

Great Value Getaway!

We stayed at Country Oaks Campground in Dorothy, NJ, for a 4-day weekend. We’re so glad we did!

Our site(#15) was a pull-thru with 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and cable. The hook-ups were all well-maintained and worked fine. The site included a concrete patio, picnic table, and fire…

Crowded and Loud

This campground is very tight, the campsites are on top of each other, and it is filled with kids and very loud teens. The quiet hours are disrespected and it reminded me of dorm living...screaming, blaring music, etc.

The amenities are nice if you want lots of activities for your kids...the…

  • Barely enough room, IMO, to have a safe campfire with the neighbor's RV right on top of us.
  • Nice campfire ring.
  • Spaces are mostly shaded, which was nice.

Nicest campground in the area

Clean, quiet, lots of activities for both children and adults, and overall a great campground.

It was alright

Went during the week, there were 4 sites taken adjacent to me, the rest of the campsite barely had anyone. Unfortunately 2 of them were taken by a large family group who were pretty loud until midnight - no fault of the campsite, just note that this place will have a higher frequency of this type…

Nice campground with good selection of large open and semi-private sites

We only saw the South Shore sites because the North Shore Campground was closed to the public at the time (though I believe it has since reopened.) However, from reviews here it seems the North Shore sites are a lot more densely packed so if that’s a negative for you look at the South Shore first.…

Good camping close to home

Was a nice campground was close to home. Have nothing bad to say. Heated pools were a nice bonus as well camp sights are tight.

Easy access, quiet campground

Staff were very friendly. Large campground but doesn't feel like it. Easy access to main roads, downtown Philly and Jersey Shore.

Rustic Cabin On The Water

Atsion cabins are excellent rustic cabins situated directly on the water. They come in a variety of sizes accommodating up to 7 or 8 people.

They must be reserved in advance and a multiple night rental is necessary. They book quickly during the busy season. However, we rented for Halloween…

Awesome Trails But Close Campsites

Wharton State Forest Batona Campground has some of the best trails I’ve hiked.

Downside is the campsite is tight. You must camp in designated spots and reserve online. Not much distance between sites.

However, with the amount of outdoor activities there really is no reason to stay idle in the…
