Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Stateline, NV

Gorgeous spot. Park undergoing renovations and roads a little tight but all in all a beautiful park. Great dog park

This was where we went for our first outing with the travel trailer. The staff was very helpful. The dog park is AMAZING HUGE AND FENCED.

We broke a jack and the maintenance workers were incredibly helpful in getting a tool we needed to fix it. The park is clean and has multiple very clean dog parks. We will stop again.

We came into south lake to visit family. This campground is right in town but there’s enough space and trees to give it a natural setting. Bathrooms are great and it’s pretty quiet considering it’s popular. Looks great for families and there’s a dog park, pool and trails.

The area is nice, it is not near the lake but the lake is only a small drive away. The place is crowded and they pack you in here, but our site (113) was a nice place in the corner. There are much better sites with more room near the dog park if you are looking for more space.

This campground is in town but still is a great place to stop. Has nice dog park, great hookups. Close to the Sparks marina if you want to walk, but we were here for the Nugget rib cook-off. Just not sure on the all the rules as it seems some are followed some you can ignore.

It’s a nice park with a store and lots of things to do (pool, tennis court, etc) but we preferred a campground down the road for cheaper for the views of the lake. It’s dirt here so be prepared for everything to get dirty or muddy! We paid for the 5.2gb wifi since ours is having trouble connecting. I’d stay here again but wasn’t my favorite, I liked the general store a lot, cute gifts and things! They do have a really big dog park which we loved too, the dogs also seemed to love it!

I really liked this place. I stayed a month and wouldn't have minded staying longer.

The General Store had lots of supplies, and they gave RV customers a discount on "souvenirs".

I didn't use the showers or restrooms (although I did pay the $10, refundable, deposit for a key).

The staff was extremely nice.

There are plenty of trash cans around the park. They are emptied almost daily.

Pets are welcome. Dogs must be on leashes and picked up after. (There were lots of people there with dogs and/or cats.)

The spaces are roomy and each space has a picnic table. However, there was no grass, except near the hotel and near the horseshoe pits. (So, no grass at the sites.) Also, there wasn't much shade. ☹️ Sites are quite level, and are graveled. Hookups were very accessible.

The view of the lake was beautiful. However, I had to drive about 5 miles (to the County Park) in order to actually get to the water. ☹️. This would have been very inconvenient, if I hadn't had a toad.

All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at this park.

The sites are close together and the sewer drains are literally going through the artificial turf area where your neighbors eating area is. A little ridiculous with the pet policy and pet areas are a long way away when you have to take your pets out at night.

We had a great time at this winter paradise!! South Lake Tahoe had gotten 20 inches of snow in the 14 days prior to our arrival, then got four more inches while we were there. Practice your backing up, the plowed snow made some of the pull through sites back in only!! The huge, beautiful trees made for some additional obstacles. The best part of our stay was the assistance we received from TERRY in changing sites and getting set up. The campground is close enough to all the activities in South Lake Tahoe. The plowed snow and ice made walking through the campground very difficult, but there wasn’t anyplace else you could put it. The dog park was great!! When you’re traveling with a Great Dane and Australian Shepard, that’s a big deal!! We’ll stay here again...maybe in the summer!!

Drove in and was greeted by an escort named Brett!!he showed us where to drop our tow and even helped us…..He helped my husband back into our site and made sure our slide outs were out and everything before heading off. Everyone waves and says hi as you pass by. I wish we had neighbors like this at home… They have a dog park for those fur babies, a store to get things you might’ve forgot and right out of the campground they have a few eating places and stores.(Taco Bell, pizza) paved roads so kids can ride bikes around the campground and a swimming pool! Beautiful scenery with tall trees!!! They have activities to do for everyone! Campground is kept very clean!! I know now why it’s hard to make reservations!! Keep being awesome Tahoe Valley Campground!!

The front desk lady was super super nice. The park is beautiful! The guests are all super friendly. Family and pet friendly. The pool isn’t open yet but the spa is. We can not wait to come back!

we came up on a whim with no reservations and ended up getting a spot in the parking lot right by the water. Pet friendly. Beautiful sunsets!! It was difficult getting our rig though the sites but we managed. You are required to have life jackets with you on the water.

This campground is a longer stay place and almost always full. Shady and clean it’s a really appealing place to stay. Lots of amenities here with attendants and an office that is staffed with friendly people who are happy to help with anything you need. Laundry facilities and dump station available as well as propane to purchase. There is also a small pet area.

Rustic dispersed camping. One pet toilet as the other is closed for coronavirus. Kind of a bumpy dirt road but my car was just fine on it many many many sides. Pretty close to the road so you do get motorcycle noise and there are a ton of cyclists. So look out for them. Three trails to get to the water. But I recommend the one that looks like a driveway.

we found there to be a lot of rules at this campground such as no fires, however there is a community fire pit. No driving over 5 MPH, no charcoal grills or smokers, only electric and propane grills. They are also very serious about the 11pm quiet time.

Aside from all the rules this was a very clean, family and pet friendly campground. Very clean bathrooms with showers!! There are a few lakes that are very nice for fishing and kayaking. Nice calm water for a leisurely SUP experience.

We actually camp here often because it's the closest place that feels like we're in the mountains. Not many campgrounds in Northern NV have forest like trees. The spaces are a good size but kinda close to one another. Rangers are friendly and often stop by just to see how things are going. Currently there's a fire ban but they do have fire pits. You can park right at your site. The rate has increased to 30.00 a night and they charge a pet fee of 1.00 per animal per night. The only thing that kind of detracts from the camping atmosphere is the freeway. You are close enough to hear it but it's more a white noise with the occasional truck breaking. You can't see it though so that's a plus.

Excellent location, stunning scenery, limited cell service, sounds perfect because it is. Fishing, exploring and just relaxing. Fun dirt roads close for exploring, gas station, restaurant pretty close. Right on the state line of Nevada and California.

15 reservable RV sites with water and power, 13 non-reservable RV sites with water only, an an additional 42 non-reservable dry campsites. Primitive camping is also available in undeveloped areas.

Nice level concrete pads for travel trailers, they also have pull through sites for diesel pushers. Both 30 and 50 amp sites along with cable on the pedestals, make sure you bring your own cable to connect to the pet store or they’ll charge you $4.95 for a cable cord. Large clean bathrooms, with a laundry facility that is open 24 hours a day. Upon checking in, staff will guide you to your site and assist you in backing in to your campsite or guide you through the pull through site. They explain all the rules which are typical and show you the location of your pedestal and your sewer hook ups. Wi-Fi is strong and if there are not a lot of people at the campsite you can stream to a television which is the first time in a long time. Unfortunately when the weekends come in the campsite gets full Wi-Fi signal does degrade quite significantly. The bathrooms are well-maintained and constantly cleaned, staff is very friendly and they have a small camp in store for you to pick up small supplies. If you need anything larger there is RV country which is located basically across the street at legends which is a rather large shopping mall area. There are plenty of places to go out and eat if you would like such as outback steakhouse, Olive Garden, BJ’s and of course there is a plethora of fast food restaurants available in the area as well. The campsites are flat and level and have a picnic table with artificial turf next to your campsite. I’ll just say that the sites are very cozy. Very quiet camp area staff is very friendly and helpful
