A great site right on the Southern Bank of the Chetco River. There are a few trails around the campground, and a wonderful walk along the river. There are beaches very close by, one I would particularly recommend is Harris State Park. Beautiful beach coming and a great place to run the dogs.
Very nicely laid out small campground just off the highway, but seemingly pretty quiet. We had to use this campground as a stopover between camping trips to store the TT. The camp host, Jason, is excellent!!
This is a great campground!! We stayed from 25 Feb - 2 March. The Oregon Coast had had a ton of rain in the last few weeks, so parts of the campground were under water. The Lesson: we arrived in mid-afternoon and quickly chose a site and got everything set up. It was one of the lesser flooded sites, but still very very muddy. We travel with two dogs, so the amount of mud around the trailer was going to be an issue. We took a walk around the campground on found the high-side of the campground, much bigger, much drier sites. We made a dash for the trailer to get everything packed back in so we could move!! The site we chose was much better than the previous site!! A beautiful wooded dry area. The lesson, …..look at the entire campground before you pick your spot!!
This was truly a gem to find after leaving Lake Tahoe early to avoid the incoming storm. We’d planned to only stopover one night but extended our stay. It was clean, had friendly staff, and a wonderful dog park. We will be back.
We had a great time at this winter paradise!! South Lake Tahoe had gotten 20 inches of snow in the 14 days prior to our arrival, then got four more inches while we were there. Practice your backing up, the plowed snow made some of the pull through sites back in only!! The huge, beautiful trees made for some additional obstacles. The best part of our stay was the assistance we received from TERRY in changing sites and getting set up. The campground is close enough to all the activities in South Lake Tahoe. The plowed snow and ice made walking through the campground very difficult, but there wasn’t anyplace else you could put it. The dog park was great!! When you’re traveling with a Great Dane and Australian Shepard, that’s a big deal!! We’ll stay here again…maybe in the summer!!
We booked this campsite as an overnight stay on our way to Southlake Tahoe from Eugene Oregon. The campsite is incredibly beautiful with views of Mount Shasta and several other mountain peaks from the edge of the campground. Dannelle and Ben were incredibly helpful during the reservation and check in process. There was a small glitch with our reservation, but Danelle fixed it quickly and showed us to our site, which was very nicely set up and ready for a great stay. We use the trails around the campsite a couple of times each day and had an absolutely fantastic time overall. We will certainly be back.
We picked this campground at the last minute as we were returning from a Christmas stay in central Washington. The reservation staff was very professional and helpful. The park owner came out and met us as we were arriving after dark, he just wanted to make sure we got settled, I was impressed!!
Sure, there is some train noise, but it’s manageable with a set of earplugs.
We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant in town, it was fantastic!! I’ll definitely go back.
The park has almost new bathrooms and laundry facilities, it is well maintained and very clean. We will certainly keep this on our list!!
We stayed during the rainiest five days I’ve ever camped….but still had a great time. We were able to bike to town and the staff was fantastic.
An absolutely fantastic little campground for all sizes, from tents to big RVs!! Jacob the manager was a great help the entire stay. It is popular with ATVrs, but they were very polite and drive appropriately.
