Best RV Parks & Resorts near Troy, MT

Several RV parks near Troy, Montana provide seasonal accommodations with varying hookup options. Woodland RV Park in Libby operates from April 15 to October 15 with full hookup sites including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. The park features spacious pull-through RV pads and back-in sites that can accommodate larger rigs. "Nice place with spacious spots. Our spot #40 had an incline we had to lower the front end of our trailer to its lowest point to get it level," noted one camper. Two Bit Outfit RV Park, also in Libby, offers big-rig friendly sites with 50-amp electrical hookups from April through November, while Trout Creek Motel & RV Park provides year-round access with full hookup RV sites that include picnic tables and fire rings.

Fall through spring access may be limited at some parks due to seasonal closures and mountain weather conditions. Many RV sites in the region feature gravel pads rather than concrete, with some requiring leveling blocks on sloped terrain. Dump stations are available at most parks, though availability varies—Two Bit Outfit and Woodland both offer sanitary dump facilities on-site. Cell service can be inconsistent throughout the Kootenai National Forest region, with better connectivity near larger towns. Most parks welcome pets, though specific restrictions may apply. Propane is not widely available at campgrounds, requiring trips to nearby towns for refills. Reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when tourism peaks in northwestern Montana.

    Bonner County Fairgrounds

Five-Star Review for Bonner County Fairground Campground

My recent stay at the campground at Bonner County Fairground in Pondray, ID was absolutely phenomenal!

We had such a wonderful experience from start to finish and we can't recommend this campground enough. First and foremost, the campground is incredibly well-maintained and clean. The facilities are top-notch and it's evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything in excellent condition.

The campground itself is spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room for RVs and other camping setups. They do not allow tents at this park. The campsites were level and provided ample space for my RV, as well as a picnic table. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the campground, with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. What truly sets this campground apart is its convenient location. Being situated at the Bonner County Fairground, we had the opportunity to explore the fairgrounds and attend any events or activities that happened to be taking place during our stay.

Moreover, the campground is ideally situated to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of Pondray and the surrounding area. I took full advantage of the numerous hiking and biking trails nearby, immersing myself in the stunning landscapes and fresh mountain air. The picturesque scenery and abundant wildlife made every outdoor adventure truly unforgettable.

Another aspect that impressed me was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

They were always available to answer any questions, provide recommendations for local attractions and dining options, and ensure that my stay was as enjoyable as possible. In terms of amenities, the campground had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The electrical hookups were reliable, and the availability of potable water and dump stations made it easy to manage my RV's needs.

Lastly, I must mention the incredible local attractions in the Pondray area. From the nearby Lake Pend Oreille, perfect for boating, fishing, and swimming, to the charming town with its unique shops and restaurants, there was always something exciting to explore. We also had the opportunity to visit nearby national forests and parks, immersing myself in nature and taking in the breathtaking vistas.

    Dorr Skeels Campground

    Great little Lakeside Spot!

We only spent one night in this campground, but it was really lovely and I will definitely return for a longer stay. We were in site 5 with our pop-up trailer. The spot was level and had plenty of shade, a fire ring, and a picnic table. I think the best site in this CG a probably #4, which is at the end of the road on a hill right next to the lake. Most of the sites has food lockers, but site 5 didn't have one.

The bathrooms at this CG were clean and the camp host was friendly and attentive. There is access to potable water on the right side of the road as you enter the camping area. The lake is very nice. The kids and the pup really enjoyed swimming and paddleboarding here. The water was warm and clear and we had temperatures in the 80s during the day and probably in the high 50s overnight. Like I said, we liked this place a lot and I wish we had been able to spend more time here.

This CG isn't far from Troy, MT, which is very convenient if you need to run out to restock on groceries or whatever. That proximity to the road was the only minor downside. We could hear more road traffic than in some places. But the great things about this spot dar outweighed the one minor drawback.

    Riley Creek Campground

Great campground on Lake Pend Oreille

Hello Dyrt campers! Today I check out a great little campground/recreation area on Lake Pend Oreille( locally pronounced Pond Array"). The campground portion has 67 sites that have electrical and water hookups with centrally located flush bathrooms. Each site is spacious and somewhat secluded. They also have a fire ring and picnic table with wood available for purchase at the store/station up front. I did not see any ADA marked sites, but as developed as the campground is I imagine most all of the sites to be fairly accessible. I did see ADA bathrooms and showers.

Other facilities/amenities here included an extensive day use recreation area located next to the camping section. There were beaches amid the many picnic benches and shelters. Large grass fields were adjacent to a nice set of swings and play structures. A nice boat ramp was located at the end of the park area next to a swim beach and a small fishing pier. This park is camper friendly with overnight options and a dump station.

Over all I loved this campground as it somehow gave you the feeling of a small campground yet offering a lot of facilities/amenities. At less than $30 a night, I highly recommend other Dyrt users check it out.

    Riley Creek Campground

    Pleasant Surprise

We were looking for a campsite in the Idaho Panhandle and discovered Riley Creek. After a 10 hour drive we arrived, drove to our spot and was greeted by an attendant who happened to be in the area. They volunteered to help us spot our rig, we were fine. No help needed.

This was an indication of how this trip would be. Very enjoyable! Power and water close. Level gravel pad, plenty of shade. Walking and biking trails galore. River was peaceful, large grass area, large playground for kids. Fairly full of couples and families surprisingly quiet.

Close to town for any supplies you might need.
    We plan on returning.

    Dunn Creek Flats Campground

Peaceful Riverside Camping (if you don't count been awoken by Bald Eagles)

We stayed here off season, we pulled our trailer through a pull through site on the edge of the river. You could walk down to the river and fish in the river, but it wasn't really a place for people or pets to play. The sites are primitive with fire rings but no power or water hookups.

The campground is pretty small, has big trash bins to avoid bears, but it didn't look like it was a problem when we were there.

There are roads on both sides of the river, one being the highway, but the river helps drown out some of the road noise. The mountains are tall on either side of the river valley and so the sun goes down a little sooner than expected, but the views from camp are nice. There is a big open area in the center of the playground for people and pets to run around.

We would definitely stay here again.

    Devils Elbow

    Well maintained, nice location

I stayed here 3 nights., early June.  All the spaces have wide back in or pull through driveways, beautiful one, fir forest. Sites are mostly shaded, but not always. i.e. check spot for solar power.  Very well kept, clean vault toilets.  No hookups. Nearest dump station at Shoshone camp, downstream a ways. It's a NF station, $8 fee, credit cards accepted, also neat and clean. Only one pump it yourself drinking water spigot at the campground.  Great fishing steps away, but catch the catch and release west slope cutthroat aren't so easy to catch as a recent article in American Fly Fishing magazine suggests-unless you are a professional fly fishing expert and writer, maybe.  Go on a weekday.

    North Haven Campground

    Awesome facility

Modern and beautiful campground. Close to all the wonders of Idaho's panhandle. They have several back in and pull through sites with more on the way. Choice of full hookups, or water and electric. Their showers are emaculant and luxurious. Wife refused to use ours. They have luxury cabins and covered wagon glamping. Very family and senior friendly. Reasonably priced, can't loose booking here.
