Relaxing in the trees by the lake

We were here for one night in late August. The lake is beautiful and a great place to cool off just a short walk from our site. Very nice campground, clean and well maintained with paved roads and parking pads. We visited here during a very warm spell and all the shade was a blessing and it cooled off quickly once the sun went down. Maybe the best part there are very few bugs this time of year.

Luby Bay Campground

Luby Bay Campground offers a beautiful lakeside experience, with many sites featuring direct lakefront access. The campground is surrounded by trees and foliage, providing a sense of privacy, and the sites are nicely spaced apart.

In the back corner of the lower loop, there is designated parking for boat trailers and extra vehicles. I launched my boat at the Priest Lake Marina just a mile down the road for a small fee, but I appreciated the free trailer parking at the campground.

The flushing toilets were impressively clean—better than many I've encountered at other campgrounds.

The road through the campground is paved but narrow, roughly 1.5 vehicles wide, so backing in a trailer requires some finesse.

Each site comes with a bear-proof locker, which is essential for safety. The only downside was that our locker had trash bags left by the previous occupants, which hadn't been cleaned out before our arrival. This seems to be a minor oversight by the host.

Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend Luby Bay Campground.

Decent campground, beautiful lake

We were on the upper side of the lower loop, near the entrance, and although we couldn’t see the water it was a short walk to the beach, which had sand and beautiful clear water. If we had more time I would have packed a picnic and spent the day in the day use area to avoid making the trek up and down the hill to the campsites. This was a nice place to stay, however if you’re looking for better lake access, be sure to reserve a lakeside spot far in advance.

Amazing beach in the woods

First time staying at this camp ground. We were in the upper loop which is a ways from the beach but we paid the additional $8 per day to park in the day use beach area. The beach area is phenomenal!!!! Nice sand and amazing afternoon shade! The upper loop campground is very private with lots of under brush. Sites 27-38 are fairly unleveled so bring extra leveling blocks if you camp with a trailer in these sites. The bathrooms are uphill from these sites also. We would love to try camping in one of the two lower loops that have paved parking spurs although they have less privacy.

Most beautiful on earth

I Honestly don’t want to leave a review because I want to keep this place a secret. Huge campsites, tons of Forest, lots of privacy, flushing toilets and running water and great water from the Spickets. Priest lake is absolutely stunning. Don’t come here

Nice campground on a beautiful lake

The tent sites are private and not too close together. Very nice campground host and clean restrooms. We spent the night in the upper section and it was peaceful and quiet.

Heaven on a Snowmelt Lake

My family and I go camping every July at Priest Lake. Luby Bay is our favorite because we have boats, RVs, tent and hammock campers. There is a white sand beach (unusual for N ID) and we can tie up our boats there for easy access. The campgrounds are safe for kids, well maintained and supervised by camp hosts. The toilets have running water and are clean. THE LAKE is amazing. Boating to the islands for the day is so much fun. In N Idaho we work hard so we can camp.
