Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge

      Super fun place to be

Our site was $63 a night for 5 nights & $79 for two nights. We got a weekly rate of $574.16

We were in Site# 2144 The check in was at 12pm and Check out is at 11am.
We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level.

Our site was fairly shaded with one tree. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(less than 1 mile from highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have quite a few community fire pits.
They sell wood but were out the entire week we were there.

They pickup your garbage at your site daily.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They also allow you to rent golf carts. It is beneficial to have a golf cart to get around since it is a large campground. They would not let us use our e-bikes around the campground.

They do have multiple swimming pools including a water playground and splash pad. There is a huge hot tub. We especially loved the 21+pool with swim up bar. Water Amenities are open from March 29th-October 26th. You can also rent poolside cabanas. They have a few smaller ponds for catch & release fishing.

They have a decent general store with some food, accessories, and clothes options.

There is a separate Activity Center for kids. There are tons of scheduled activities for kids like gem mining, tie dying, candle making, candy bar bingo, sand art, etc.

There is a Playground. They also offer pickleball, cornhole, and basketball sport court. There is a Game room for kids. They have a workout room for adults.

There are three bars (one serving food) and a separate concession stand that also serves food.

Right outside of the park is a delicious restaurant/fresh seafood market with a daiquiri drive thru (many flavors).

There is live music on site!

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

They have multiple RV slip options along with cabins/cottages/villas for rent. Tent camping is not allowed.

They have many shower houses. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean.

There is a few laundry facilities. They allow you to use cash or credit card. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park (Barkaritaville) with a dog wash. It is located in the back far corner of the park.

Bugs were a little bit of an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground but the park is so huge, it is a great walk within itself.

We shopped at the local market outside of the park and the Piggly Wiggly. We went on the Cajun Food Tour and definitely recommend this (link on CM’s website).

      Farr Park RV Camground

One of the better RV parks in BR Area

One of the better RV parks in the BR area (there's not many close to town).  Has electric and water hookups, but no sewer hookup.  The Mississippi River is nearby. There is a paved bike path on top of the river levee that you can ride all the way to downtown Baton Rouge.  It is only 3 miles from LSU campus.  Some people stay here to tailgate for LSU football games.

Farr Park is part of the Baton Rouge Parks and Recreation system.  It is also an equestrian (horse) center.  There are stables and riding arenas near the campground.

There is a dump station available.  The dump station connection for your sewer hose is at a 45 degree angle and a bit above ground level.  This creates sags in your hose.  Also, there is no way to secure or screw in your connection to the sump station.  The station does have a concrete pad and non-potable water.  You can use the dump station for free if you are a camper.  Non-campers can pay a $10 fee to dump.

      Farr Park RV Camground

      Spacious with Horse Views

This campground is so romantic with coral sunsets and country vibes. Spots are spacious and not crowded so you can spread out. Great paths for walking. Its hot but the bugs are not overwhelming. Close to the college and downtown. Perfect views of the horses I could watch them all day. 30/50 amp electric, water, pull through sites. No sewage but there is a dump station to empty on way out.  Bathrooms have restrooms and showers available. 8/10.

River View RV Park & Resort

      Very nice RV park

This is a very nice RV Park. It’s big. Almost 150 sites, with water, sewer and 30/50 amp electric. There are also a few tent sites with electricity. It’s well kept-grass is mowed, grounds and facilities are clean. There is a playground, a dog park, pool and hot tub. Showers and bathrooms are nice. Laundry room, small grocery/gift shop. And a guest lounge. There is a paved walking trail along the river. There is also a public boat ramp about 1/4 mile away for access to the Mississippi. Internet was sport. With this many Class A motorhomes and people streaming media the server can’t keep up.

River View RV Park & Resort

      Spacious Campground

Mostly pull through full hookup sites. Nice grass inbetween sites, lots of shade trees, but not all spots shady, concrete pads (not sure if all are but most), gravel on roads, trash pickup at site, lots of grassy areas for walking dogs, some tent sites. Very attentive and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again, had spot 111 at the end with a great view of the mighty Mississippi River. Accepts Good Sam discount.

      Farr Park RV Camground

      Great location

Stayed Thu-Sun on an LSU football game weekend. Didn’t see anyone at the office- but spaces are well marked for finding the reserved spot. We were in B6- so no real shade- in the late afternoon the only decent shade is on row E. We had good cell signal and were able to stream.

When we arrived there were very few campers- but the park got a lot more visitors by late Friday. It was still pretty quiet throughout the stay. Many of the “campers” were large class A or Fifth wheels, but there were a few smaller units like ours (17 ft. TT). The spaces are grass which was obviously recently mowed and the driveway is white gravel/rock. We used the back trail to get to the levee to ride our e bikes and went on about a 30 mile ride south past L’Auberge, and then we went on another 10 mile ride north toward the capital. The bike paths are in good condition and there are a good number of walkers/runners/bicyclists/and scooters using the paths. I checked out the bath house and it was clean and well maintained. There were 4 (ladies) showers and 3 stalls. There are multiple spaces for campers to dump, although we needed to use the front spots due to height. We decided to get an early start on Sunday morning and were at the dump station before 8- only one other unit arrived when we were finishing up- there wasn’t a line to wait in for us. We will definitely return to Farr for another game weekend. We really enjoyed our stay.

      Poche's RV Park & Fish-N-Camp

Nice RV park. Convenient for canoeing in Bayou Teche.

Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge.

Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.

Stayed in campsite#69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

South Campground — Chicot State Park

      Great State Park

Chicot State Park is wonderful and well maintained. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. Take the time to drive around to the East Landing in the evening before sunset. It has one of the prettiest views of Chicot Lake. Also drive down to the South Fishing Pier below the South Campground. It has a long pier that goes out into the lake. My son spent a lot of time at the splash pad. Be sure to visit the free La. State Arboretum onsite. It has a great visitor center with some fantastic exhibits and nice hiking trails.

Stayed in campsite#84. It has a nice deck with picnic table. BBQ grill and fire pit are on the other side of the RV spot. Even though it is in the front, it is actually quite secluded with woods all around. Nearest neighbor was at least 40-50 ft. Away. My son could easily walk or ride his bike to the splash pad. Both AT&T and Verizon had poor signal(1 bar each). Was able to connect to the free park Wi-Fi. It was slow, but I could send text messages and make the occasional phone call. Wasn't a big deal, because I came here to camp and get unplugged. We camped at Chicot State Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Guide to Lettsworth

RV campgrounds near Lettsworth, Louisiana provide camping options along the Mississippi River corridor. Summer temperatures average 90°F during the day and 75°F at night with high humidity. Fall brings cooler temperatures with less rainfall, making it a popular time for camping. Spring can feature moderate flooding in low-lying areas around the Mississippi River basin.

    What to do

Outdoor water recreation: Gator Grounds RV Resort features both indoor and outdoor water parks with multiple pools and slides. "Summer is awesome because of the outdoor AND indoor water park. Fall has been great because of the nice fire pits and we are now a huge fan of their Halloween celebration," notes one camper at Gator Grounds RV Resort.

Riverfront activities: Take advantage of the paved walking trail along the Mississippi River at River View RV Park. "There is a paved walking trail along the river. There is also a public boat ramp about 1/4 mile away for access to the Mississippi," according to a recent visitor at River View RV Park & Resort.

Cultural exploration: Visit the Tunica Indian museum near Paragon Casino Resort. One camper notes, "There's also a boardwalk that connects the casino, campground and Tunica Indian museum and powwow ceremonial grounds and is also great for walking for exercise."

    What campers like

Holiday celebrations: Seasonal festivities are popular at several campgrounds. At Gator Grounds RV Resort, "The camping spots really go all out in decorating for the kids. There was a costume contest and then a time for kids to visit all spots for candy." Another camper noted their Mardi Gras weekend: "It was a very cold weekend but indoor water fun was awesome, kept the kids occupied. It was mardi gras weekend so parade was unbelievable!!!"

Level sites: Many RV parks in the region provide well-maintained, level parking areas. At Paragon Casino Resort, "There was ample room for our camper which is 32 feet. Our site number 3, had full hookups and room for a couple of canapies."

Swimming options: Multiple pools are a highlight at Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge. "Cajun Palms is an oasis for the family. They host a ton of activities for the family, fishing, swimming, go cart racing and even nightly entertainment for the adults."

    What you should know

Seasonal operations: Some amenities operate on limited schedules. As one visitor to Gator Grounds RV Resort noted, "The big slide was closed. A staff person said they were short handed. Unfortunately we didn't have much time because we didn't realize the outside pool area closes at 7pm."

Site spacing: Site size and proximity vary between campgrounds. At Paragon Casino Resort, "Neighbors are close by not crammed in. The site included: picnic table and fire ring. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in middle of site."

Limited bathroom facilities: Some parks have limited facilities despite their size. One camper at Bayou Wilderness RV Campground noted, "There are three separate bathrooms with a toilet and a shower. The laundry has 6 washers ($2.00) and 6 working dryers ($2.50)."

Internet connectivity: WiFi quality varies significantly. At Bayou Wilderness RV Campground, a visitor reported "Wi-Fi is excellent," while other campgrounds receive mixed reviews about connectivity.

    Tips for camping with families

Indoor water options: For weather flexibility, choose parks with indoor facilities. "The indoor pools and splash pads were open and heated. The showers, extremely clean," noted a winter visitor to Gator Grounds RV Resort.

Entertainment alternatives: Some campgrounds offer activities beyond outdoor recreation. At Shelby J's RV Park, their location provides a base for regional exploration. "Wanted to tour southern plantations there in St Francisville, Louisiana. Amanda was very nice and helpful."

Budget considerations: Prices vary seasonally and by amenities. One camper reported, "We paid $34 for a night with 30amp hookup and water. It's a little muddy in the sites. Easy accessibility, right off Hwy 1."

Traffic awareness: Be cautious of recreational vehicle traffic in larger resorts. "Weekends are very crowded and drinks are expensive but it's always a great time," notes a visitor to Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose sites based on shade and position within parks. At River View RV Park & Resort, a camper suggested, "We had spot 111 at the end with a great view of the mighty Mississippi River."

Reservation timing: For better site options, avoid peak periods. "It looks to be off season in Sept and was quiet. Would highly recommend. Rates were very reasonable this time of year," according to a River View RV Park visitor.

Weather preparedness: Area campgrounds may take precautions during severe weather. "Lovely campground, large lots, friendly & helpful staff & campers. There are some nice, private spaces, but staff weren't placing anyone in them due to storm & tornado warnings! Kept everyone close to the office & restrooms (aka storm shelter)."
