Best RV Parks & Resorts near Emmetsburg, IA

Several RV parks accommodate motorhomes within 30 miles of Emmetsburg, Iowa. The Grotto of the Redemption RV Park in West Bend offers electric hookups with 30-amp and 50-amp service on both grass and gravel pull-through sites that can handle large rigs. "The sites are pull through but are set up with utilities for back in sites," noted one camper about the area's hookup configurations. Wild Rose Casino RV Park provides basic electric hookups for overnight stays, while Emerson Bay State Recreation Area Campground features full hookup sites with 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service from April through December. RV sites throughout Kossuth and Palo Alto counties typically range from $20-40 per night, with higher rates for premium lakeside locations or full hookup options. Pets are welcome at most facilities, including The Grotto of the Redemption and Emerson Bay, though leash requirements are standard. A recent review described the terrain as "level gravel pad" sites that are "spacious with full hookups." Winter camping is limited, with many facilities closing between October and April due to harsh Iowa winters and potential freezing of water systems.

The Grotto of the Redemption RV Park

    Very Nice, Excellent Value

The Grotto is interesting and inspiring. Admission is free. Two adjacent camping areas are partially shaded and will accommodate rigs of all sizes. I counted (8) 50 amp and (16) 30 amp sites. Rest rooms, showers, fresh water and a dump station are provided. The cost is $20 per night. Sites are offered on a first come first served basis. Thirty amp sites are on lush grass and include a view of a the grotto, a pond and surrounding residences. The 50 amp area offers more privacy, gravel pull through parking and more convenient shower and rest room access but a lightly used rail line runs by.

The Grotto of the Redemption RV Park

Nice place to stop while visiting the Grotto

We stayed at the Grotto of the Redemption RV park for two nights. We were in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. We had no problems getting a spot here. There are two areas. One is very close to a train line, which runs infrequently. Sites are grass, level, and reasonably well maintained. All sites are pull through. Only electrical hookups are available at the sites. This is in good condition. There is fresh water and a dump station available. Each site has a nice grassy area and there are plenty of large trees. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a park nearby with a playground.

The RV park is near the Grotto. The Grotto is a fascinating achievement worth a look if you are in the area.

We had 2 bar LTE with Verizon. Our hotspot was usable and performed very well. Campground wifi was not available.

We enjoyed our brief stay at this campground. We will stay again when traveling this way.

    Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground

    Worth a Stop

Very polite staff. Roads are nice. Facilities are clean. Sites are pull through but are set up with utilities for back in sites. $40 a night. It looked like some campers were extended stays. Good Verizon signal and right off Interstate 90.

    Tuttle Lake Park

    Nice

Clean well maintained bath house with showers. My site was 30 amp. Water and dump are separate..$20 I stayed in a 26' B+. All sites are back in on grass. Heavy big rigs could sink if wet. None are very level. Length no a problem. 3 bars at&t.quiet out of the way place on a nice lake. Lake view obscured by trees. I would stay here again

    Jackson KOA

Alright but not the best for a KOA

We go in early in the afternoon after traveling from Madison WI.

The KOA seemed alright but I was very disappointed in the long term/ Full time RVs parked there.  Some were alright but a couple of pretty dumping ones.

They were not full and I can understand the reason.

The facilities seemed to be well maintained.  The pool and playground were very nice and the sites we stayed around were fine.  It was just those few trailers that gave it that run downed feeling. If they took care of those even made them clean the area around them and wash them it  would go up a star or 2.

The internet was iffy again and I guess we will just have to live with that though I did expect more from a KOA.

That night they did have live entertainment but we did not know about it until they started to play.  It was locals I think that lived there and was like a jam session.

    Joe Sheldon County Park

    Beautiful hiking!

This is a lovely and expanding park. Spacious, level pull through sites with full hookups. Decent Verizon coverage. Shower houses could use updates.

    Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground

Great value as Passport America member

This is a small private campground that offers a quiet nights stay.  Site size was moderate with some shade, a fire ring, picnic table, on a level gravel pad.  $20 per Passport America members for FHU is sweet.  The grounds were well cared for and was not to far from the interstate but far enough away that there was little noise.
