Great for music lovers

Staying close, but not too close, to route 30 provides easy access to Fort Wayne without all the road noise. Live music on the weekends adds to the charm of this family campground. Sites to accommodate RVs or tents are available.

Kids, don’t try this at home

While staying in the area, we decided to go check out this campground for a future stay. When we arrived at the road leading to the entrance (marked only by colorful flags) there was an event blocking us from getting to the campground itself. About a dozen golf carts were lined up to participate…

Great overnight stay

It’s a half resort half overnight camp type place. It’s know for being the first disc golf course in Indiana. Just a quick overnight stop, but the camp store was well stocked, bathroom and showers were clean. Camp staff met us after hours for check in and leading to site 31. Site was level enough…

Good little camp ground

It's a good little camp ground. Electric sites are small and not private. The outhouses are very clean.

Short trip for the zoo

Very straightforward reservation and check in process. The grounds are nice with a lovely river right across the street. Bathrooms are A+ with a code for only campers. I would definitely return here.

What a fun place for kids!

This is just a really cute park to camp in, especially with kids. There is an abundance of activities to keep you and the little ones happy, especially around holidays. The amenities are great and the sites definitely large enough not to feel crowded.

A nice way to get out of the city.

Summit Lake is a very nice place to get away for a weekend from Indy but not so much a destination spot. Friendly staff and well maintained. Wooded spots that are water adjacent are beautiful. Since it’s a no wake lake, the noisiest thing is usually the geese

You can rent a small boat by the day…

Nice state park with several trails around a beautiful lake

We stayed before the peak season opened up.  Potable water was available at the entrance but was not on yet in the campground itself.   The sites are well spaced out with a few pull through sites and many back ins.

Our site was a pull through and, while level left to right, required a good bit…

Beautiful find

Took a ride on the Harley Tuesday(late March 2021) and didn’t know where I was. 75 miles from home and passed this place on my way to get fuel but wanted to come back and take a look. Wasn’t to impressed when I pulled in but the further I got the more it just felt right. The view was amazing even…

Seems better later in the season--Memorial Day to Independence Day lots of noise & trash.

Water available here and there throughout campground, but turned off across fron site 12 and at the boat ramp. Not sure if dumping is currently allowed. Bring your own toilet paper and firewood. There is a private driveway about 1 mile east on 224 that sells wood for $3.00 an armload. 1 mile hiking…

I like it so far

Just joined.  Trying to find any city park or visitor centers permitting camping.  I know they are out there but not well known.  Easy to use.  Love the fact I can use it if offline.  I'll review in a few weeks when I actually need it.

Hidden in Plain Sight

I grew up in Ft. Wayne, so when I think of this campground I always think of Johnny Appleseed Festival. We have recently purchased an RV and plan to use it full time. We wanted to stay in town prior to traveling.

During our stay, I continued to forget that I was in the city. The park is connected…

Nice campgrounds for the money

During the weekends it gets packed. Only 60 sites so show up early if you want one. No reservations so first come gets it. No bathhouse just pit toilets. During the week it’s great. Hardly anyone here and so peaceful. Some campers need to be a little more respectful about cleaning up after…

LOVE but.....

We love camping out here. It’s our favorite place to be in Huntington. It’s super cheap, the sites are well taken care of, plenty of play spots for kids, electric and primitive, the sites come with picnic tables and fire rings with cooktops, some of the spots are out in the open and others are…

Great Atmosphere, nice terrain!

Very large camping spots with huge lawns away from lake; This spot was #53. lakeside camping a little more packed in but more shade. Reserve early! Cute beach was easy to get to, allowed dogs (not on sand). Park program happened while we were there - very educational. Highly professionally run,…
