Best RV Parks & Resorts near Garden Valley, ID

Garden Valley RV accommodations include several full-service parks within driving distance. Clear Creek Station offers electric hookups with 50-amp service, sewer connections, and water at sites that accommodate larger motorhomes. Arrowhead RV Park on the River in Cascade provides pull-through rv pads with full hookups, operating from May through October. "We pulled in after the office closed. We didn't receive a packet, which we have become accustomed to, but we had a site map and found our camp space. We were right next to the lake #69. We had a pull through for our 40' fifth wheel and we're happy," noted one camper. Waters Edge RV Resort in Cascade features big rig spots with concrete pads and grassy areas between sites, remaining open from May to mid-October.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when parks reach capacity quickly. Most RV parks in the region maintain clean shower facilities and laundry rooms, with varying levels of cell service depending on proximity to towns. A review mentioned that "Their pull through site was long enough for both our Class A and our tow vehicle. Decent amount of concrete pad, though it did feel like the space between sites was a little close." Propane service is available at several locations, with some parks offering on-site delivery. Pet-friendly policies are common throughout the area, though specific restrictions may apply. Winter camping options are limited, with most mountain parks closing by mid-October due to weather conditions and road access challenges.

    River Point RV Park

    Newer, Nice, Maintained, Friendly!

This is a nice place. Not too expensive, close to town, traffic noise isn't bad, great staff and host. It's clean, newer amenities include some limited food items, ice, BBQs, dog area, propane, pool table, tennis court (or whatever ball you want to use for this size net), 1/2-court basketball, volleyball. They even have the balls to use (don't know about tennis or other similar-size balls though).

Large, wide spaces, many pull throughs. I can fit my truck next to my travel trailer. Asphalt drives and stall sites. Showers/restrooms are clean, so is the laundry area, all with newer equipment. Each shower/water closet is its own small room, hooks, bench, ADA accessible, sink, just like your own restroom. Laundry is $2 wash, $2 dry, quarters.

    Ambassador RV Resort

    Absolutely Nicest!!!

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell, Idaho in July and September 2021. This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained parks we have stayed at. This RV resort is a short drive off I84 and when you pull through the front gate, you become immediately aware that you are in for a great stay. The park is impeccably maintained. Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you. If you need propane, they will pick up your tank and bring it back to you. The resort also has the nicest gated dog run area we have ever seen. The WiFi worked great and they have cable. It was an absolute joy to stay here and we went back a second time this summer because we enjoyed it so much! For videos of the resort, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

    Chalet RV Park

    Good place!

This is a family friendly campground that is convenient to Donnelly and Cascade areas. AT&T 3bars LTE service as well as free wifi make communication and planning easy. Full Hookup sites, some tent sites, trash, showers, laundry, toilets all accessible with site rent. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Clean facilities, family owned.

    Boise Riverside RV Park

The Perfect RV Park For Visitors to Boise, Idaho

This RV Camping Site is AWESOME! They do allow tent camping and have cabins. They have full hookups for RV's as well. There is a lower rate for "back-ins" to the Boise River Greenbelt. They also have a higher rate for Pull Through Sites for RVs. There is so much to do in the area. Biking, hiking, walking along the Boise River. There is also some great fishing on the Boise River. This location is centered for city goers, snow skiers, white water rafters and anglers. We visited some nice restaurants within a short drive of the campgrounds. We rode our bikes along the trails, upstream and downstream. The campgrounds also rent bikes for those that don't have their own :-) You will not be disappointed with this campground if you want to get to know Boise, Idaho.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

    Lake cascade has it all

at 47 square miles lake cascade has it all. It is a beautiful upland lake that is warm enough to swim in all summer long and deep enough to have some serious fishing if you bring our boat. there are 10 campground units spread around the lake. I have stayed in 5 of those. On the west side of the lake you have huckleberry, which is shaded from the brutal afternoon sun due to being at the foot of west mountain and about 2 minutes from Tamarack ski resort. It has water, but no electricity or sewer for trailers. the beach is sandy and very nice. Poison Creek is farther south on the west side of the lake. This is a very nice trailer camp with W/S/E. The showers are awesome there too. On the north east side of the lake is sugarloaf. if you are camping it will be very hot during the summer. The swimming area and boat launch is worth the heat though. If you are coming up for the day I would stop there. Right in the town of cascade is ridgeview campground. This is a full service camp with wide and deep trailer spaces. If you are glamping this is the place to go. 2 minutes to the diner in town and wifi. The beach here is great and the views are really awesome. Just across the bay from ridgeview is the first come first serve crown point. there is community water and pit toilets but the beaches are granite outcroppings are great. I highly recommend lake cascade. And at 70 miles from Boise it can be a day trip.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

Scenic Campsites Just North Of Boise, Idaho. A Nice Quick Getaway!

Lake Cascade State Park has some beautiful scenery from any of the sites you stay at. There is tent and RV camping in the area. I suggest reserving a site far in advance because they fill up quick. The lake freezes over in the winter time, but if you are willing to rough it in cold weather, there are some sites available. Call before you head to the lake. There are several activities you can do at this campground, from fishing, boating, sailing and Moutain biking. Some sites have full hook-ups and there is a dumpstation for RVs. There are some ADA sites as well as group and Yurt camping. This campground is for everyone! From those willing to rough it to those who are into "glamping" :-)

Country Corners Campground & RV Park

    A gem

Well maintained campground with a super friendly staff. Clean facility: showers (good water pressure) and bathrooms. Reasonably priced laundromat. We were escorted to our gravel pull through site # 6

Guide to Garden Valley

Garden Valley RV options extend beyond what's mentioned in nearby full-service parks. The area sits at approximately 3,100 feet elevation in the Boise National Forest region, with summer temperatures averaging 75-85°F during peak camping season. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with stronger signals closer to towns and limited connectivity in more remote locations.

What to do

Riverside activities: Boise Riverside RV Park offers access to the Boise River Greenbelt trail system. "There is a greenbelt that runs from the campground all the way to Lucky Peak Reservoir, a distance of 19 miles," notes Mike H. The paved path provides opportunities for cycling, jogging, and bird watching.

Hot springs access: Garden Valley serves as a gateway to several natural hot springs within a 30-minute drive. Roystone Hot Springs RV and Camping provides both camping and thermal soaking options. One visitor shared, "They only allow 25 people on the pool for 1 1/2 hour increments so it's not cramped."

Water recreation: During summer months, Lake Cascade offers swimming, fishing, and boating. A camper at Waters Edge RV Resort mentioned, "Swimming right in front, volleyball court, dog walking trails, fire pits, horse shoe play area, etc! Only wish I was able to do laundry but coming back again!"

What campers like

River views: Sites along the water remain the most requested. "We had a beautiful site on the river," reported a visitor to Arrowhead RV Park on the River. These premium spots typically cost $5-10 more than standard sites but provide direct water access.

Modern amenities: Many RV parks near Garden Valley maintain well-appointed facilities. At Ambassador RV Resort, a reviewer noted, "The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you."

Access to towns: Proximity to small towns for supplies and dining ranks high with campers. "Only 1/4 mile to their downtown. Friendly and helpful staff, showers, toilets, beach area for swimming WITH lounge chairs," wrote one camper about Waters Edge RV Resort in Cascade.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most Garden Valley area RV parks fill completely during summer weekends. "This is a very well run campground and hot springs near Emmett Idaho. The staff is very on top of things and keeps the place very clean and orderly," shared a visitor to Roystone Hot Springs.

Weather considerations: The mountain elevation means rapid temperature changes, even in summer. Overnight lows can drop below 50°F in July and August. Fall camping typically ends by mid-October due to freezing temperatures.

Site spacing: Many reviewers mention the proximity of camping sites to each other. "Their pull through site was long enough for both our Class A and our tow vehicle. Decent amount of concrete pad, though it did feel like the space between sites was a little close," noted a camper at Hi-Valley RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation programs: Several Garden Valley area campgrounds organize activities for children during summer months. "Fun REC for kids, playground, and party fire pit area," noted one visitor to Arrowhead RV Park on the River.

Swimming options: Many families choose parks with water access during hot summer days. One camper at KOA Boise Meridian RV Resort shared, "Clean bathrooms & showers. After last night's stay at Rawlins, I was overjoyed with the paved roads, tree & sliver of grass at our site."

Playground facilities: Not all RV parks have play equipment for children. One visitor to Waters Edge RV Resort described it as a "Family oriented destination. Big group fun." Check park websites or call ahead to confirm amenities for children.

Tips from RVers

Accessibility considerations: Some Garden Valley area campgrounds have tight turns or narrow roads. One RVer at Clear Creek Station mentioned, "I called (no one answered @4:45pm)... then we drove because it was on our way... and there was no one. The restaurant was closed... it is 6:15pm.. maybe they aren't open past 6?"

Utility hookups: Check amp service requirements before booking. Most parks offer 50-amp service, but availability varies. "Easy access to the park easy from Hwy. Fast check-in and huge pull throughs," noted one RVer at Ambassador RV Resort.

Winter closure dates: Most RV campgrounds around Garden Valley close for winter between mid-October and early May due to freezing temperatures and limited road maintenance. Call ahead if planning spring or fall trips as opening dates may vary with weather conditions.
