Best RV Parks & Resorts near Banks, ID

Arrowhead RV Park on the River offers riverfront RV spots with full hookups, accommodating big rigs at many sites. Located in Cascade, the park operates seasonally from May through October with water, electric, and sewer connections. Clear Creek Station provides additional RV sites with electric hookups and 50-amp service, though it lacks the space for larger motorhomes found at other parks. Roystone Hot Springs RV and Camping maintains a small but serviceable RV area with limited hookups near Sweet, Idaho. Sites throughout the region typically feature gravel pads with varying degrees of shade and levelness. "We were able to find an open RV spot in the middle of the week at this campground. They do not have hook ups so it is pretty much dry camping," noted one camper about Sagehen Creek.

Advance reservations are essential during summer months when Highway 55 traffic increases considerably. Most RV parks in the area provide sanitary dump stations, though availability varies by season with several facilities closing completely from late October through April. Cell service remains spotty throughout the mountain corridor, with visitors reporting better Verizon coverage than other carriers. According to one visitor, "This is a very well run campground and hot springs near Emmett Idaho. They have only ten RV spots. They are a full service park, but don't have a store that I know of." Pet policies differ significantly between facilities, with some parks restricting certain breeds or charging additional fees. Many sites near Banks are positioned close to the road, creating occasional noise concerns for light sleepers.

    River Point RV Park

    Newer, Nice, Maintained, Friendly!

This is a nice place. Not too expensive, close to town, traffic noise isn't bad, great staff and host. It's clean, newer amenities include some limited food items, ice, BBQs, dog area, propane, pool table, tennis court (or whatever ball you want to use for this size net), 1/2-court basketball, volleyball. They even have the balls to use (don't know about tennis or other similar-size balls though).

Large, wide spaces, many pull throughs. I can fit my truck next to my travel trailer. Asphalt drives and stall sites. Showers/restrooms are clean, so is the laundry area, all with newer equipment. Each shower/water closet is its own small room, hooks, bench, ADA accessible, sink, just like your own restroom. Laundry is $2 wash, $2 dry, quarters.

    Ambassador RV Resort

    Absolutely Nicest!!!

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell, Idaho in July and September 2021. This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained parks we have stayed at. This RV resort is a short drive off I84 and when you pull through the front gate, you become immediately aware that you are in for a great stay. The park is impeccably maintained. Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you. If you need propane, they will pick up your tank and bring it back to you. The resort also has the nicest gated dog run area we have ever seen. The WiFi worked great and they have cable. It was an absolute joy to stay here and we went back a second time this summer because we enjoyed it so much! For videos of the resort, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

    Chalet RV Park

    Good place!

This is a family friendly campground that is convenient to Donnelly and Cascade areas. AT&T 3bars LTE service as well as free wifi make communication and planning easy. Full Hookup sites, some tent sites, trash, showers, laundry, toilets all accessible with site rent. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Clean facilities, family owned.

    Boise Riverside RV Park

The Perfect RV Park For Visitors to Boise, Idaho

This RV Camping Site is AWESOME! They do allow tent camping and have cabins. They have full hookups for RV's as well. There is a lower rate for "back-ins" to the Boise River Greenbelt. They also have a higher rate for Pull Through Sites for RVs. There is so much to do in the area. Biking, hiking, walking along the Boise River. There is also some great fishing on the Boise River. This location is centered for city goers, snow skiers, white water rafters and anglers. We visited some nice restaurants within a short drive of the campgrounds. We rode our bikes along the trails, upstream and downstream. The campgrounds also rent bikes for those that don't have their own :-) You will not be disappointed with this campground if you want to get to know Boise, Idaho.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

    Lake cascade has it all

at 47 square miles lake cascade has it all. It is a beautiful upland lake that is warm enough to swim in all summer long and deep enough to have some serious fishing if you bring our boat. there are 10 campground units spread around the lake. I have stayed in 5 of those. On the west side of the lake you have huckleberry, which is shaded from the brutal afternoon sun due to being at the foot of west mountain and about 2 minutes from Tamarack ski resort. It has water, but no electricity or sewer for trailers. the beach is sandy and very nice. Poison Creek is farther south on the west side of the lake. This is a very nice trailer camp with W/S/E. The showers are awesome there too. On the north east side of the lake is sugarloaf. if you are camping it will be very hot during the summer. The swimming area and boat launch is worth the heat though. If you are coming up for the day I would stop there. Right in the town of cascade is ridgeview campground. This is a full service camp with wide and deep trailer spaces. If you are glamping this is the place to go. 2 minutes to the diner in town and wifi. The beach here is great and the views are really awesome. Just across the bay from ridgeview is the first come first serve crown point. there is community water and pit toilets but the beaches are granite outcroppings are great. I highly recommend lake cascade. And at 70 miles from Boise it can be a day trip.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

Scenic Campsites Just North Of Boise, Idaho. A Nice Quick Getaway!

Lake Cascade State Park has some beautiful scenery from any of the sites you stay at. There is tent and RV camping in the area. I suggest reserving a site far in advance because they fill up quick. The lake freezes over in the winter time, but if you are willing to rough it in cold weather, there are some sites available. Call before you head to the lake. There are several activities you can do at this campground, from fishing, boating, sailing and Moutain biking. Some sites have full hook-ups and there is a dumpstation for RVs. There are some ADA sites as well as group and Yurt camping. This campground is for everyone! From those willing to rough it to those who are into "glamping" :-)

    A gem

Well maintained campground with a super friendly staff. Clean facility: showers (good water pressure) and bathrooms. Reasonably priced laundromat. We were escorted to our gravel pull through site # 6

Guide to Banks

RV camping near Banks, Idaho includes areas along Highway 55 serving travelers headed north toward McCall or south into Boise. This mountainous corridor sees significant seasonal variation with many facilities closing between October and April. Most riverside RV sites feature gravel pads throughout the region, with elevation changes creating both summer heat and winter freezing conditions.

What to do

Hot springs access: Roystone Hot Springs near Sweet offers hot springs pool access with controlled admission limits. "This is a very well run campground and hot springs near Emmett Idaho. The staff is very on top of things and keeps the place very clean and orderly. We visited during COVID and they really worked things out safely and smartly," noted one visitor to Roystone Hot Springs RV and Camping.

Riverside activities: Waters Edge offers direct river access for fishing and swimming. "Clean, leveled, friendly, only 1/4 mile to their downtown. Friendly and helpful staff, showers, toilets, beach area for swimming WITH lounge chairs, swimming right in front, volleyball court, dog walking trails, fire pits, horse shoe play area," shares one camper at Waters Edge RV Resort.

Bike path exploration: Several RV parks provide direct access to paved trails for biking or walking. "This spot is on the Boise River, a short trek from wineries, shopping and the river. Something for everyone! Nice people, great location," reports a guest from Boise Riverside RV Park.

What campers like

Level sites: Many campers appreciate the well-maintained parking areas. "Huge spaces. Level, clean, well run. No complaints. Laundry has 6 washers at $1.50. Really nice spaces," explains a visitor to Ambassador RV Resort.

Community amenities: Pools and recreation areas make stays more comfortable. "From the start we felt welcomed at this park. Friendly neighbors, both long term and short term, staff and owner," notes a visitor at Hi-Valley RV Park.

Trash service: Some parks offer convenient waste removal. "I liked that they picked up garbage at campsite everyday," mentioned one guest at Ambassador RV Resort.

What you should know

Winter weather challenges: Higher-elevation RV parks face freezing conditions. "Though it was chili at night, and our pipes froze the last night, it was the best October birthday week we have had in a long time," reported a visitor at Waters Edge RV Resort.

Cellular connectivity: Internet access varies significantly between locations. "5G and 2G wifi were excellent. Towers throughout property for access points. Never a weak signal. I was able to telecommute and stream without any issues and never used my Hotspot or cell data," writes a camper from Hi-Valley RV Park.

Varying space sizes: Not all RV parks near Banks accommodate larger vehicles. "This is a fine place to stay if you're in the area visiting friends, doing something, etc. This place is huge and 3/4's of the spots are people who live here," explains a visitor to KOA Boise Meridian.

Tips for camping with families

Pool access considerations: Some facilities maintain controlled pool usage. According to a Roystone visitor, "they only allow 25 people on the pool for 1 1/2 hour increments so it's not cramped."

Recreation facilities: Several rv parks Banks, Idaho offer child-friendly amenities. "Fun REC for kids, playground, and party fire pit area. Individual spots were extremely tight," notes a visitor to Arrowhead RV Park on the River.

Educational opportunities: Camping can include local learning experiences. "Downtown Caldwell is interesting. And downtown Nampa isn't very far. Heck, downtown Boise is less than 30 minutes away most days. Plenty of outdoor activities in the area. The Snake River is about 30 minutes away with lots of BLM around the river," shares a visitor to Abundant Life RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Navigation challenges: Some RV parks have tricky approaches. "Kinda confusing getting off the interstate," warns an Abundant Life RV Park visitor.

Overnight convenience: Several parks accommodate late arrivals. "There are already some nice reviews of this campground and they are spot on. It's easy access, clean, and even after hours was easy to check-in," shares a guest at Abundant Life RV Park.

Site selection strategy: Riverside parks offer premium spots. "Very calm and peaceful this weekend. Able to get our favorite spot by the river," mentions an Arrowhead RV Park visitor.

Maintenance records: Check electrical systems before committing. "I hooked up my surge protector and got reverse polarity warnings. I located the manager & told her I wanted to move as I won't use a faulty outlet," cautions a visitor about electrical issues at one park.
