    Magnolia Springs State Park Campground

Clean park with plenty to do

Stayed for 2 nights in Site #3. Was called prior to arrival regarding checking in. Missed "closing time" but went to site and checked in next morning.  The Park fee is not included in the camping fee with is a bit of a pain, but I actually received a partial refund since the Senior rate was not included in my reservation.

Plenty of well marked trails to hike, a nice lake, beautiful spring, and if you are interested a thorough Museum about the Civil war prison camp that was located on the grounds. (Note: there is no swimming at the spring)

Sites are level with good power and water.  I felt they were a bit close, but we are not campground people.  #3 seemed one of the most private, even though right across from the Hosts and near the Bathhouse.  The Bathhouse was very clean and new.

    Great Georgia State Park!

Easy to reserve online! Water and electric hookups. Arrived after hours, and an info packet was waiting for us. Only stayed the weekend for cheer competition at the Savannah Convention Center, approximately 30 minutes away. Unfortunately the rain was full on while we were there, our site got a bit muddy. Friday evening was nice, and we were able to make s’mores, with the fire ring that was at the site, also a picnic table. And there is Lots of space between sites, great updated playground for the kids. The bathrooms are clean! Cute on site info center….Lots of nature! Many stores and quaint restaurants near the campground. Would recommend and we would reserve here again!

    Narrow Roads, Big Sites

Stayed at Site 77 for 2 full weeks.

25 minutes to the historic district of Savannah, GA, 40 minutes to Tybee Island beach and about 1hr15min to Hilton Head Island.

    AT&T service = 1-2 bars Verizon service = 3 bars

WiFi is available ONLY in Visitors Center.

The bathhouses were always very clean and we were able to walk the trails several times while here.

This is a great and affordable way to stay near Savannah in an awesome GA State Park

Our only complaint is that the roads are very narrow, have many roots pushing up the pavement, and the roads are barely wide enough for a truck/camper let alone the fact that they are NOT one way roads.

    Quiet

Small park with 6 level gravel 30ft wide spaces with full hookups fences between neighbors very well maintained grassy lots for an unbeatable price. Watch out for the deer on hwy 57. No office on site but the manager met us onsite and was super sweet and helpful brought us a WiFi extender so I could connect for work.

Paved roads to every campsite. Gravel pads for the RV. Close to town. Decent dog park. Extensive gym and fairly decent laundry room.

Super nice KOA with a coffee, wine and beer bar

Former KOA of the year campground. Just off the freeway with a bit of highway noise but heavily wooded and just plain beautiful.

Camp site and RV hook ups

Paid for it online stayed the weekend from Friday to Sunday . Check in between 1:00-10:00pm must be out by 12:00. Has an electric outlet right next to our text, a faucet for fresh water, has a fire ring and a picnic table, just off the water. Have fire wood available for purchase if needed. We had a wonderful time brought the kayaks and fishing poles.

This is a beautiful state park close to Savannah. The sites are sufficient. The bathrooms are clean…The store is wonderful… The natural setting speaks for itself!

    Savannah South KOA

    Well Maintained Older KOA

Very convenient from I95. Good location for the Savannah area. Sites are very tight and graveled but level. Shower house is clean and well maintained; its location is at the entrance and a bit of a distance to the sites furthest from the entrance. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Best of nature close to Savannah

This campground is beautiful, with clean facilities and hiking trails within walking distance to campground. We spent one night and loved to experience the park on top of exploring Savannah which is a 20 minute drive. We would definitely return!

    Awesome park

Read through all the reviews and it seems to have come a long ways. There are more hiking trails, really nice docks and boats for rent and slightly better Verizon service. My Tesla wireless worked barely and without the cell phone extender I wouldn't have been able to work here. All in though they do a very nice job of providing private spaces and the cabins look amazing. It was in the teens outside so not floating on the lake for me but I would love to do that. The lake looks incredible.

    Great city campground

I will be staying here for 6 weeks over the Dec and Jan period. The spots are close but the facilities are great and the staff is very helpful. I've had a number of packages delivered and they always let you know moments after they get them. The wireless is good but not great. Not solid enough for me to use for work but the Verizon service is excellent so that makes it doable.

    Beautiful paddling trail

We stayed at George L. Smith State Park in Oct. 2023. We had a large, level, pull-thru site with water and 50 amp service. No sewer. There are sites on the water that some are large and some are close. Those do have a view and some are private.

The park was quite and peaceful for our visit. We really enjoyed paddling the pond and checking out the grist mill and covered bridge. The pond is black water with tons of cypress and tupelo trees throughout. Kind of mystical.

    Fort McAllister State Park Campground

Great location and close to the water.

We love this park because it is kind of remote, but not far from Savannah. It has great trails, a historic site to explore, a nice little on the water bar/grill close by and large, level, FHU camp sites. They have a few sites that are "on the water", but not actually on the water.

The trails are great for hiking but a little rough for street bikes. The fishing pier is great for fishing or just viewing.

The Ft. McAllister historical museum and grounds is very well done and informative.

    Nice Quiet park

We stopped for one night heading home to FL. We had a site near the pool. It was so hot out once we got set up we took a dip in the pool. The sites are close together yet KOA's are like that. There is a nice lake with Swans. You can fish and kayak on the lake.

Easy access coming off the interstate I would stay here again.

    Point South KOA

    Great experience

We stopped for one night on our way north. We had a ok site. The two best sites are 52 and 16. This KOA had a nice clean pool, a big chess game, panning for gold, a playground, a lake, a neat old phone booth that is a lending library and the Mermaid Coffee bar and Cafe. They do wine and beer tastings or you can just buy a glass of either. The sell Hunts brothers Pizzas that were cooked in a pizza machine, they were great. They have a small store if you need some things. This KOA has some cabins that are nice looking, a few of them are old train caboose’s. Very nice place to visit. To top it off a beautiful sunset.

Tall trees covered with moss are so amazing!

Our stay was so wonderful! Relaxing under tall trees covered with moss. So humid! No pool to cool off! I was scared by a raccoon. It tried to steal our dinner in a cup. Saw a deer walking around. So close to Savannah downtown for us to tour around there.

    A favorite favorite!

This one is one of our absolute favorites. The hosts were awesome. The place is separated from the real world by a long causeway in the salt marsh. It had active wildlife like deer, raccoon, armadillo, etc. And it feels so coastal. It’s maybe 45 or so minutes from Savannah too so that’s nice.

    Tuck in the Wood Campground

    Great little place!

As a primitive tent camper, the price was a little steep at $34 per night, however.. very quiet and fairly private on the tent camping side of things. Showers and bath house in general was always clean and campground owners very nice and welcoming. I'd definitely stay again! The no-see-ems were pretty thick in a tent site in early April, so bring bug spray if you want to sit outside during the day.
