Jasper, Florida camping areas sit in north-central Florida at an elevation of just 151 feet above sea level. The region features a humid subtropical climate with mild winters averaging 50°F and hot summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F. Several natural springs maintain constant 72°F water temperatures year-round, making them popular destinations during summer camping trips.
What to do
Explore hiking trails: Located near Suwannee Springs, Long Branch Rest & Ride RV & Horse Park offers extensive trail systems for walking and riding. "There is a small duck pond... tons of hiking, biking and riding trails, free kennel accommodations for the K9s in your life, which also include a nice doggie park - but to be fair, the whole place is like one giant doggie park," notes Stuart K.
Visit natural springs: Just 3 miles from Ichetucknee Springs State Park, Moonshine Acres RV Park makes an ideal base for water recreation. "The main factor in deciding to stay here was the distance to Ichetucknee Springs. It's 3 miles from the south entrance and 4 miles from the north entrance. I was able to cycle with ease to both entrances," shares Karen, a recent visitor.
Golf amidst nature: Several campgrounds offer golf packages that include course access and cart rentals. "Our nightly rate of $41 was based on the monthly rate, electricity, and a golf package with the cart. The CG area is adjacent to their well-maintained 9-hole course," notes a camper at Madison RV Resort.
What campers like
Peaceful countryside settings: Campers consistently praise the natural environments. "What I loved most about this camping outpost was that it was completely surrounded by rich pastures with lots of livestock including cattle and horses, so immediately, we felt the Old Floridian country vibe out in these parts," writes Stuart K. about his stay at Long Branch.
Clean facilities: Camping out in Country earns high marks for its well-maintained amenities despite its rustic nature. "The bath house is clean and maintained...water is hot. Fire pits were ready to go when we arrived. Sites are large, shaded, and spread out," reports BA K.
Spacious sites: Unlike cramped campgrounds, many RV parks near Jasper offer room to spread out. "The sites are spacious, but would rate the other sites as 'nearby.' They also have three cabins for rent," mentions MickandKarla W. about Madison RV Resort and Golf Course.
What you should know
Cell service limitations: While the existing description notes varying cell coverage at RV parks, more remote campgrounds have even less connectivity. "Barely any cell signal, wifi provided. Complementary laundry if needed," notes BA K. about Camping out in Country.
Highway noise considerations: Several campgrounds sit near major roadways. "The only reason this place did not get a five-star review from me was because of the proximity to the interstate. You can hear the traffic very well, but that's also one of the things that I liked a lot about the park was the proximity to the interstate," explains Michael S. about Lake Park Campground.
Reservation systems vary: Some smaller campgrounds use informal check-in procedures. "Because the place operates on an honor system, you simply have to take out the waiver that's under the white mailbox, sign it and place it back in the mailbox along with either cash or check," explains one reviewer about Long Branch Rest & Ride.
Tips for camping with families
Limited playground options: Families should research kid-friendly amenities before booking. "Would've been better if playground was a bit more present for littles. Very tiny setup. Pool house is fantastic and very nice for entertaining on rainy days," notes Brooke about Moonshine Acres RV Park.
Rainy day activities: Look for campgrounds with indoor recreation facilities. "Exceptional campground with clean facilities and wonderful staff. Many amenities including game room, dog park, playground, general store and more to come," writes Teresa P. about her Moonshine Acres experience.
Age-appropriate campgrounds: Some locations cater more to adults than children. "This CG is definitely not a kids' destination as there is no playground nor much to do for the young ones, including they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts," explains MickandKarla W. about Madison RV Resort.
Tips from RVers
Site leveling challenges: Several campgrounds have uneven spots requiring extra preparation. "Site was unlevel and took three boards to fix side to side, disconnected from TV to fix fore/aft. Concrete pad was all the way forward on the site while connections were over midway back making it so we couldn't use both easily," notes Eleanor about Eagles Roost RV Resort.
Propane services: For RV camping near Jasper, Florida, propane fill service is limited to specific locations. "They have a good store and bojangles on site. Propane is also on site," mentions Joe R. about Love's RV Hookup in Valdosta.
Site selection for larger rigs: Bigger motorhomes should request specific areas within campgrounds. "For overnight guests, I would recommend asking for sites up near the front of the park, as they appeared newer and more level, although less trees," suggests Eleanor about Eagles Roost.
