    St. Andrews State Park Campground

    Beautiful well kept state park

Amazing state park on the water. The campground is modern with nice clean bathrooms, laundry machines, vending machines, park store with cart rentals and other items. The spaces are close together but great. Nice level gravel pads, full hookups including sewer, and most have fire pits and picnic table.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Falling Waters & Quietness

Camp sites have been renovated, all new gravel with railroad ties for retaining wall for the gravel.  Sites are all 50/30 amp with water.  Most of the sites are under shade.  It is a small campground with only 20 spots and some are tight if you have a big rig, but there are pull throughs for the big rigs.

    Staff was friendly and helpful.

Shower facilities were clean - at least mens.

I'd give it a 5 start but the dump station does not have the hose hookups for flushing your tanks, just draining.  So be sure to fill up your gray tank to wash down he black excretions.

I'll return because it was enjoyable area.

    River Junction - Lake Seminole

    Awesome surprise!

What an awesome surprise! COE campground on a dead end road (ends at the boat ramp) with water and power. Dump is just up the road on your way out of the park and super easy to get to. Level sites, nicely spaced and mostly shaded. I bet it’s even more beautiful in the spring and fall. Picnic table, fire pit, grill and a fish station at all sites. Walking distance to boat ramp and lake access. Pet friendly. Road in was paved and well maintained. First come first served and although there is a camp host on site there is no way to call to check availability. $20/night ($10/night senior citizen or Access Pass).

    Bainbridge Flint River

    Level & spacious pull through

We needed a one night stop & this was perfect. Made our reservations online the day before. Host called me the next morning to confirm arrival time. Hosts were very kind, and escorted us to our site. Site was big, level, and pull through with full hookups. Long term rigs were kept pretty clean as I could tell. We didn’t use any facilities so have no comment on those.

    Bainbridge Riverview Campground Bainbridge Georgia

Nestled along the Flint River with canopy of Live Oaks, peaceful trails ++

Disclaimer: we are current Camp Hosts at this city-owned campground in the Earle May Boat Basin Park. The city has totally redone this small, quiet campground and reopened it in Spring 2024.

There are 12 sites, 1 is reserved for Camp Hosts who are onsite 24/7. Sites are gravel, loop road is paved. 3 of the 11 available sites are wide back ins, the rest are very long pull through style. Most sites are nestled among the grove of live oak trees and pines that canopy the peaceful setting along the Flint River. All sites have electric(50/30/20/15) and water. There is an easy, level dump station for camping guest use only. The registered camping guests bath house is an older style but has also seen some upgrades.

A 2 mile riverfront paved walking trail takes you from the campground entrance into the historic downtown center filled with restaurants, breweries, boutiques, antique shops and cafes. Another nature trail loop at the CG entry has options for 3 to 5+ miles through dense old growth forest or around the boat basin itself.. All trails are basically flat and paved.

The campground also sits within the 300 acres Earle May Boat Basin, ideal for fishing enthusiasts. There is a small playscape in the campground and another laeger playgeound in the park which is walkable from the campground. Bainbridge is known as the Bass Fishing Capitol of Georgia! Each campsite also has a long picnic table, standing BBq grill and fire ring. Sites are wide. Sites 7, 8 and 12 are best for Starlink users as they have more open sky. Advance reservations are suggested and all reservations must be done BEFORE entering campground. It is no longer first come first served and reservation can ONLY be done online. Camp hosts do not have ability to make or change reservations or accept payment. Bainbridge has many festivals, concerts and special events all year long. Major big box stores, hardware stores, gas stations and grocery stores are within 2-3 miles of the campground. Rates in 2025 are $35 per night, currently no discounts offered. Max say length is 2 weeks. Campground is big rig friendly but loop road is narrow in some places so go slow!

Guide to Altha

RV campgrounds near Altha, Florida offer outdoor recreational access within Florida's Panhandle region, where elevations range between 50-100 feet above sea level. The area features limestone bedrock that contributes to the region's natural springs and cave systems. Most campgrounds remain open year-round, though summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity between June and August.

What to do

Kayaking on nearby rivers: Ed and Bernice's Fish Camp and RV Park provides direct river access with a boat ramp for smaller watercraft. "We kayaked and loved and I mean absolutely love being on this river. Did some swimming and fishing off the side. Caught some huge brim, they were delicious," reports one visitor.

Explore cave systems: Florida Caverns RV Resort serves as a convenient base for visiting nearby Florida Caverns. "Convenient to Florida Caverns while the park's campground is closed. We also visited Bellamy Bridge," notes a camper who stayed during February.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple water access points provide fishing options throughout the region. At Ed and Bernice's Fish Camp and RV Park, "you have a boat ramp for use with your rental. A fish cleaning station. Bring your toys for the river, we had a blast."

What campers like

Easy highway access: Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground offers convenient access for travelers. "Convenient and big rig friendly. There are goats. It is close to the highway so there is a little noise," mentions one camper who appreciated the location.

Pet amenities: Multiple parks accommodate pets with dedicated areas. Alliance Hill RV Resort features a "fenced dog park with toys and obstacles." Hitchinpost RV Park offers "two large shaded dog parks" and maintains "a petting zoo with baby goats and piglets."

Clean facilities: Campers consistently mention cleanliness as a positive factor. At Stay n Go RV Resort, visitors appreciate the "level concrete FHU pull-throughs" and note the park is "well taken care of. Nice level sites. Plenty of grass to walk dogs. Wi-Fi works great."

What you should know

Summer heat considerations: The region experiences intense summer temperatures requiring reliable cooling systems. Between June and September, expect daily temperatures above 90°F with high humidity. Air conditioning becomes essential during these months.

Highway noise impacts: Several campgrounds sit near major highways, creating ambient noise. Hitchinpost RV Park receives praise for convenience but campers note "it is close to the highway so there is a little noise," while another mentions "despite the highway, it's quiet."

Water access varies: River Landing RV Park offers sites along the Apalachicola River, with one camper describing it as "nestled along the banks of the Apalachicola River, it is just a beautiful site to see." However, water levels fluctuate seasonally, affecting both recreation and site quality.

Mixed connectivity: Cell service quality varies significantly between providers and locations. "Internet sketchy" reports one Hitchinpost camper, while at Stay n Go RV Resort, visitors report "Wi-Fi works great."

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly water activities: Some parks offer safe water recreation options. Ed and Bernice's Fish Camp provides river swimming areas where children "scooped up minnows and found crawdads. Was great to watch."

Animal encounters: Outback Springs RV Resort (formerly Florida Springs RV Resort) offers unique wildlife interactions. "So, it is a small but beautiful park with all the amenities you expect from the big parks just with ducks... Oh yeah, did I mention ducks? Free duck eggs!" notes one enthusiastic visitor.

Pool availability: Several parks maintain swimming pools, providing relief from summer heat. Florida Caverns RV Resort features a "nice pool" while Outback Springs offers "a beautiful new pool, hot tub and outside lounge."

Recreational facilities: Parks offer varying recreation options beyond water activities. Outback Springs includes "a small putting green and area for playing horseshoes," while Florida Caverns provides a basketball hoop.

Tips from RVers

Site sizes and accessibility: RVers should verify site dimensions before booking. At Panama City Beach RV Resort, one camper in site 37 found it "barely long enough for a 27 ft camper. Room for only one vehicle," while others note many parks have spacious pull-through sites.

Hookup reliability: Power capacity differs between parks and sites. Stay n Go RV Resort provides "concrete FHU pull-throughs" while River Landing RV Park requires careful monitoring of electrical needs during peak summer months.

Booking timeframes: Seasonal demand affects availability. Panama City Beach RV Resort fills quickly during peak seasons, with one visitor noting they "booked the entire month of July 2019 at the same spot" a full year in advance.

Supply considerations: Limited shopping options exist near most rv sites near Altha, Florida. Most RVers recommend stocking up on supplies in larger towns before arriving, as rural locations have minimal services beyond basic necessities.
