No paper towels, soap or kitchen utensils."

    Elk Neck State Park Campground

More than correct stay for a pass through or short period

Check in at the store (without reservation), went very smooth. Only the north east loop was open because it was calm. All spots are full hook up, all fine. There was a small play area for the kids and the restrooms/ shower where clean. No complaints.

    Spring Gulch Resort Campground

    BED BUGS in Cabin

I believe Cabin 1409 is infested with BED BUGS! After a short stay in this cabin(7/28-7/30) I came home with 80+ bug bites that I'm certain were from BED BUGS. A dozen of them were on my eyelid! My dermatologist gave me a high strength dosage of prednisone to combat the swelling and itching. We promptly advised the property manager, who was sympathetic, but once our claim for damages(mostly items we had to throw out due to contamination) reached the insurance company, the process stalled. It's been 19 days and now the insurance adjuster is out of the office for another week- having provided no updates or feedback on our claim. I wish I had posted this earlier, as I wonder if the cabin that Michael M complained about in his Aug. 4 YELP review was the very same cabin. I had hoped our conversations with the property manager would have prevented additional folks from the same fate. I also wish I had read a few earlier reviews that warned of BED BUGS. I continue to fear an infestation in my home, in the event we brought home nymphs or eggs or the bugs themselves. I'm constantly vacuuming and looking under seat cushions and my mattress. I now dry all my laundry on high for 60 minutes, knowing it's damaging my clothes, but also knowing it's the best way to kill the bugs and their eggs- which can go dormant and survive for a year without biting again. Zero stars. Choose to stay elsewhere!

    Redden State Forest Campground

    Secluded and improving

    8/15/2025

Arrived after dark to find that I had the campground to myself. As noted in other reviews, turn right as you drive past the office/house and let yourself in through the closed (but unlocked) gate. Since the last review, it appears they've added 11 sites on a branch if you bear left after the gate. These sites (8-18) are level, packed gravel pads with benches, fire pit, grill, and picnic table. The restroom featured on the map is just a portalet, but there is plenty of overflow parking in that branch. Apparently you're not supposed to pull onto the gravel with your vehicle, just park parallel to the road alongside it.

Another note about the gravel - can't get stakes in. Plus, it's a pine forest and I didn't want to get sap on my tent so I didn't tent adjacent to the pad amidst the pine needles. I did drive around the right branch (sites 1-7) in the morning to find that they are dirt/grass sites and probably would be ideal for tenting/staking (and in case you haven't guessed, I don't have a freestanding tent). The area is densely forested with pines and is quite pleasant in that regard.

    Country Acres Campground

So Nice It’s Almost Not Camping

We stayed at one of the primitive tent sites with no hookups adjacent to the farm field. Watching a horse drawn equipment cutting grass while we cooked dinner was a joy. Amenities are super clean and modern. Clean bathroom, laundry room, pool area for the kids, and a well stocked store. The only critique I have is that you can hear the distant sound of cars on the road. But this is by no means a nuisance. Just helping you make an informed decision. I would definitely go back.

    Lums Pond State Park Campground

    A Gem Among State Campgrounds

We spent a long weekend with family at Lums Pond State Park Campground and so glad we did.

We paid $46 per night plus fees for a FHU 50 Amp Back-in site(#56).

This place is a gem, even among nice state parks.

    THINGS I LIKED:

    • Easy access from I-95

    • Beautiful park setting with fantastic site— spacious, level, good-working hookups, and paved

    • Friendly and helpful staff

    • Great state park with lots to do (kayaking, biking, and more)

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH:

    • There’s nothing we didn’t like about this place

    WOULD WE COME BACK?

    • Absolutely, this is a nice place with plenty to do

    Belleplain State Forest

    Relatively new to this

Stayed in site 116 in CCC section (only section with electric and water). Good privacy. Check-in went smoothly. Staff at office said all the roads in the CCC section were 2-way. Not wide enough in my opinion but we didn't have a problem. Restrooms/showers were ok. Sea Isle City is not too far away if you're into the Jersey shore, restaurants, live music.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park At Delaware Beaches

    Great First Camping Trip

My family tent camped for 1 night here at site 190. Decent array of electrical hookup options. My kids had a blast in the water area with the pool and large slides. It was our first time camping and we had trouble sleeping due to groups around us having fun until 11, but overall it was a really great experience and we will be returning

    Pequea Creek Campground

Shaded spacious sites by a kid-friendly creek

The wife & I stayed in site 22 for three nights and bicycled 14 miles, some along the Susquehanna, on nearby Enola Low Grade Trail .  We enjoyed the birds singing in the mornings and welcomed grandkids' visit for splashing and floating in Pequea Creek.  (Nearby site 24 had steps down the 'levee'; affording easier access to the creek.)   Lori was cheerful & timely with all communications; even sending new arrival directions the day before because of a road closure.   I realize that the private entrance road is long to maintain but patching some of the holes, clearing debris from the dump site deck, and wiping down the bathrooms would have netted a 5th star.

    Elk Neck State Park Campground

    Nice full hook up

Our site was a level full hook up. The road on the FHUnloop is narrow and hilly. Out site was uphill and at a difficult angle. Plenty of bigger TTs and 5th wheels were camping. The lovely camp host, Carol, kept the bathhouse spotless.

Sadly most of the park, including the beach, was closed for major renovation while we were there and it was 99 degrees out. Very buggy.
