Best campsite of the summer

We arrived for a walkup on a Thursday afternoon and found a perfect site in #25. With the creek running through the middle of the campground, we had a great spot for the kids to play plus a wooded spot for our tent. As opposed to other campgrounds near here, we were far enough back from the road to…

Great park for camping and/or working

This is a great campground for your adventures in the Red River and surrounding areas. A lot of people have ATVs here so there must be trails nearby. I’m working on this trip and I have 4 bars for AT&T. Not trouble connecting and staying connected with my hotspot. Sites are tight, but that’s…

Great Campground

We very much enjoyed our time here. It was beautiful. A dry campground with no hookups and no water (water is available at the lower Lake Alice campground and showers st the park entrance). Vault toilets were clean, sites nicely spread out with covered picnic tables, fire circles and bear boxes…

Amazing Campground

Amazing site with all of the amenities. Nice, clean bathrooms and SHOWERS! Gazebo over the picnic table to help you out if you visit during monsoon season like us. Best sites 22-25 with beautiful views overlooking the canyon. Potable water across from lake Alice Campground. Firewood for $5 from…

Happy Surprise

We were happy with the primitive campsites available. Plenty of wildlife to see around the area and a very quiet place to set up camp.

nothing fancy, but a good overnight stop

This KOA felt a little aged, but it was clean, quiet, and felt safe.  We did arrive after a rain storm and our site was mostly a large mud puddle.  The parking slots could use a new layer of gravel.  There's a smaller playground which are son enjoyed. Across one road was a large field that gave us…

Our second stay

This is our second stay at the River RV. Our camp is right next to the river, there is a shuttle that takes you into town, the facilities are clean and close by, and the fishing is great.

loved this place

Campsite 17 was awesome. Huge, isolated, 1 minute from a very clean vault toilet with 2-PLY TP!!! Shaded. Tons of bird activity. Sound of Columbine Creek to fall asleep to.

No bear boxes. Beautiful but heavily used trail out of the back of the campground with multiple stream crossings. Loved…

Wow so pretty

Super pretty sunset and sunrise. Got here at sunset and just pulled up no hassles. Very quiet people wise, and lots of pretty bird tweets. Also the drive to get here was stunning. First time car camping and couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Carson National Forest Campground

Small campground with some nice sites along the Columbine Creek prior to its entry into the Red River. Great creek access making for enjoyable moments sitting creekside. Beautiful area with the exception of the moly mine which is in process of restoration. Tall trees, big tables, fresh water,…

Great Lake and trails

Lake Alice campground is really close to a paved road where people drive too fast and the sites are really close together. They are not actually on Lake Alice. I enjoyed the lake and the hiking but opted out of staying in my reserved site.

Last minute solution, full bars

It’s places like this that make me realize this how possible Van Life is!

I rolled in at 9pm when I had reservation issues else where, after finding this online at 830pm. There are full bars and open spaces. I felt bad rolling in to the lot because there were other people set up and tucked in. A…

Great views surrounded by mountains...right on the red river. Minutes away from town and skiing.... Level spots host are amazing, super helpful and attentive. Wifi was pretty decent, showers and laundry were really good as well. Will definitely come back in spring for a different view...

In a bind, it’ll do

Go in with no expectations. The place is a dirt lot with narrow sites which are extremely uneven. We paid $45 for one night which was a steep price for the condition of the Park. On the plus side they had availability and full hookups with no prior reservation.
