Best RV Parks & Resorts near San Dimas, CA

San Dimas offers several established RV parks with full hookup sites. Bonelli Bluffs provides lakeside camping with 50-amp electrical service, water and sewer connections in a park setting. The sites accommodate large motorhomes with pull-through options available. "Spaces are kind close and there is no WiFi if you need that you must have your own," noted one visitor, highlighting connectivity limitations. Fairplex RV Park in nearby Pomona features concrete pads with full hookups but spaces are notably compact, potentially challenging for larger rigs to navigate. Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside offers two distinct camping areas - Cottonwood with paved sites and full hookups, and Lakeview with partial hookups and more rustic conditions.

Seasonal considerations affect availability throughout the region, with weekends filling completely at most parks while weekdays remain quieter. Access routes to these facilities generally accommodate large vehicles, though navigation around some parks requires careful maneuvering due to tight spacing between sites. According to feedback on The Dyrt, "Very clean, pet friendly... great place for exercise, walking, biking, etc... safe environment." Most parks provide sanitary dump stations, though only select sites offer direct sewer connections. Amenities vary significantly between properties - some offer swimming pools, laundry facilities, and camp stores while others provide only basic services. Reservation requirements are standard across all facilities, with advance booking strongly recommended during peak travel periods.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to San Dimas

San Dimas and surrounding areas provide multiple RV camping options within the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, with elevations ranging from 700 to 1,500 feet. The Mediterranean climate creates mild winter camping conditions with daytime temperatures typically in the 60s-70s°F, while summer stays hover in the 80-90s°F range. Most rv campgrounds in San Dimas, California and nearby communities remain accessible year-round with concrete pads that withstand occasional winter rainstorms.

What to do

Hiking trails accessibility: Bonita Ranch Campground sits just minutes from Lytle Creek trails. "A little gem hiding out in Lytle Creek! Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers," reports Heather L.

Paddle sports options: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers waterfront access for kayaking. "In the middle of the lagoon they have blow up obstacle in the water to climb on... great place to relax," notes Aaron S., while another camper mentions the resort provides paddle board rentals.

Horseback riding routes: Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park has dedicated horse paths. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," explains Jessica P., who adds "I brought my horses one time and it was amazing."

What campers like

Convenient transit options: Staying near Anaheim attractions at Orangeland RV Park provides transportation benefits. "Amazing staff. Free citrus picking! Pool, mini golf on site. On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access," reports Emily S., noting the proximity to major venues.

Quiet natural settings: Bonita Ranch Campground offers a peaceful environment despite urban proximity. "Although it's a short trip from the city, camping here is a breath of fresh air. Spaces aren't too close together either. The creek running behind the camp is great to explore, and a waterfall is a short hike away," Jonathan G. explains.

Swimming amenities: Several San Dimas area campgrounds feature pools for cooling off. At Canyon RV Park, "They have a pool. A tent area. Some spaces monumentally better than others," according to Dennis B., while at other facilities like Anaheim Harbor, campers note "Nice showers. Stores and restaurants super close."

What you should know

Site spacing considerations: Not all campgrounds offer the same amount of personal space. At Fairplex RV Park, "You are packed in pretty tightly you better make sure that you like your neighbors," says Sara H. Similarly, another reviewer notes "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay."

Security features: Safety measures vary between facilities. At Rancho Jurupa RV Park, "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Ranger is on constant patrol," reports Troy A.

Noise factors: Be aware of potential noise disruptions at certain campgrounds. At Newport Dunes, a camper warned, "Neighbor in campsite next to us yapped his belligerent drunken mouth all weekend." Meanwhile, Canyon RV Park sits "bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible."

Tips for camping with families

Water features for kids: Rancho Jurupa RV Park offers dedicated water recreation. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," notes Marcella D., while another camper mentions, "Great family camping. Fishing and a splash water park. This place has two campgrounds."

Group camping areas: Some facilities have designated group sites. At Rancho Jurupa, "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties... However, there are some great kid friendly activities," Janet S. explains.

Beach camping options: Bonelli Bluffs provides lakeside activities. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," summarizes Jessica P.

Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Most campgrounds offer full hookups, but with varying reliability. At Bonita Ranch Campground, "This place is awesome full hookups lots to do trails and not to mention right on top of the creek," explains Sara H.

Larger rig considerations: Many San Dimas area RV parks accommodate big rigs, but navigation can be challenging. At Fairplex RV Park, "No longer a KOA. Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," cautions Lawrence P.

Reservation requirements: For Anaheim Harbor RV Park and other facilities near attractions, advance booking is essential. "Great park. Great location. Nice amenities. Clean bathrooms. well functioning rv hook ups. Everything worked as planned. Interesting mix of short term and long term guests," notes Scott O.
