Several RV campgrounds near Piñon Hills provide full hookup options for motorhome travelers, ranging from lower-elevation parks with reliable cell service to cooler mountain sites. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas features concrete pads with 30/50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections across its spacious sites. Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon in Acton accommodates large rigs with pull-through sites and offers full hookups including 50-amp service. "The sites were decent size but fairly close together so don't expect a lot of privacy," noted one visitor about Bonita Ranch Campground, which provides water and electric hookups at each site. Skypark Camp RV Resort near Running Springs has both 30-amp and 50-amp connections, though some reviewers caution that access roads within the park may be challenging for larger motorhomes.

Many RV parks in the region experience seasonal fluctuations in availability, with weekends typically filling faster than weekdays. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Bonita Ranch and some smaller facilities may have limited dumping capacity. Cell service varies significantly by location, with stronger signals at lower-elevation parks like Rancho Jurupa RV Park and spotty coverage in mountain locations. Pet policies generally allow dogs with some restrictions, and several parks charge additional fees for pets. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 100°F in lower elevation areas while mountain RV parks offer cooler conditions. A visitor to Skypark Camp RV Resort advised: "I would skip if I were a big rig, or call and ask for sites that are easy to get into."

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

      Shady Lane RV Camp

      A Handy Desert Stop

Traveling while pulling my utility trailer along makes slow going. And pulling up a long, long, long desert mountain grade can be downright exhausting.

So this is a mighty grateful thumbs up review. Robert made my day when I phoned up in the late afternoon and offered me a limited use rate on one their full hookup sites.

And of course, I got in real late, just after late closing hours–10 pm!

I got the last pull through site at the end of the lane. It was a breeze to pull in, get my deep cycle battery charging. 30 Amp with an adapter is all I need.

Shady Lane is mostly populated by real big rigs. So a 50amp socket is also on the post.

The park is a little distance from the highway, so it's blessedly quiet overall. After a grueling pull from Las Vegas, it was a wonderful blessing to crawl into my tent with my feline road companion, Missy. She just loves tent camping the very best. It was down in the 40s last night, but our traveling bed is a cushy cloud ☁️ from Heaven 🌠🌌✨ Just me and Missy and all those stars on that dark desert night.

Just woke to a lovely quiet morning here at Shady Lane. Fully renewed, to make my long drive down towards San Diego.

Looks they offer all the basics, showers, laumdry, and the same wifi network is offered all over these desert parts.. So once signed up, its the same login wherever you go on this network.. That's handy. Great wifi signal all the way down at the end of the lane, too.

Most importantly, Shady Lane offers tent spots and doesn't get snooty about whether you're pulling a utility trailer, or a spit shined mega-rig. On the phone, when I spoke with Robert, told him what I'm pulling along, he was as nice as can be.

I'm glad I found this quiet little desert overnighter. 🏜 Just right for Missy and me.

      Shady Lane RV Camp

      Not what the picture shows.

The units were spaced tightly together with a gravel pad and concrete patio. It was $45 but with GoodSam down to $40.50. Old park. Friendly staff. Bathrooms and showers aged but clean. I was told there was cable TV but didn't try it. The pet area was a sandy strip by the fence.

      Bonita Ranch Campground

      Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

    Guide to Piñon Hills

RV parks surround Piñon Hills with varied hookup capabilities and amenities. Bonelli Bluffs features concrete pads with 50-amp electrical service, full hookups, and accommodations for large motorhomes. Oak Hills RV Village offers sites along the main road with both long-term and overnight options. "A little pricey but very nice facility with all hookups 30/50 amp and cable TV," mentioned one visitor about Bonelli Bluffs. Adelanto RV Park provides a convenient overnight option with hookups and amenities including a pool and dog park with real grass, though many sites house long-term residents. Red Hook Gate offers just two RV spots with water, electric, and sewer connections.

Advance reservations are essential during peak travel seasons, especially for premium full-hookup sites. Most parks in the area remain open year-round, though mountain locations may have seasonal closures due to winter conditions. RV dump stations are available at Bonelli Bluffs, Skypark Camp RV Resort, and Rancho Jurupa, with the latter requiring tokens for shower facilities. A visitor noted about Mojave River Forks Regional Park, "We arrived after hours, and the gate code was included in the reservation information," highlighting the secure access many local parks provide. Several facilities accommodate pets with designated areas, though specific restrictions may apply.
