Best RV Parks & Resorts near Marina del Rey, CA

Marina del Rey provides several RV accommodations within a 30-mile radius. Dockweiler Beach RV Park in Playa Del Rey offers beachfront spaces with full hookups including 50-amp service, water connections, and sewer hookups. Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach provides electric and water hookups with smaller sites suitable for travel trailers rather than large motorhomes. Malibu Beach RV Park features premium oceanview motorhome sites with full hookups, though spaces can be close together. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach accommodates big rigs with spacious pull-through rv pads. "Sites are easy to navigate and pull into, especially for a first timer. The RV sites are pretty close together but the full hookups makes it really nice," noted one camper.

Most RV parks in the area require advance reservations, particularly during summer months and holiday weekends. Dump stations are available at larger facilities like Newport Dunes RV Resort, which maintains 372 sites including pull-through options. Cell service varies significantly between coastal and inland locations, with visitors reporting spotty coverage at some parks. Many facilities enforce strict length restrictions—some parks accommodate rigs up to 40 feet while others have 35-foot maximums. Pet policies differ between locations; most allow pets but some charge additional fees or have breed restrictions. Several parks including Anaheim Harbor RV Park calculate fees based on total vehicle length including both the RV and tow vehicle, which can substantially impact pricing. Propane filling service is available at select locations.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Thornhill Broome Beach — Point Mugu State Park

    Beach camping on PCH!

Spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Campground has trash, porta-potties, and appeared to have potable spigots but didn't confirm. Verizon service was hit or miss, but with a booster it was usable. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. Only downside was highway noise, but the surf drowned out all but big-rigs. Saw dolphins and seals back to back days! We're so glad we went, and if we pass by again we will be staying for sure!

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    Tapo Canyon Park

Clean and quiet, except for the birds

This is a very nice campground near everything but still away from it all. No issues parking our 42' 5th wheel here. Clean and quiet despite the peacocks. They can be rather loud when startled. I swear they could hear my morning alarm and squawked their disapproval. The camp host Shawn is AMAZING! Bathrooms are very clean. Showers are coin operated. DO NOT expect cell service. I could only work from this spot by placing my mobile HomeFi router on top of the camper. Our Verizon phones were paper weights. Make sure your reservations are complete online before arriving. The Rangers check the spots multiple times a week. The kids enjoyed the playground and fields. It's not uncommon to see and hear movie/TV production crews at the filming locations along the road. Pet friendly but be careful at night. Mountain lions were spotted while there.

Guide to Marina del Rey

RV camping near Marina del Rey provides options ranging from beachfront locations to urban settings with easy access to attractions. Parks within 10-30 miles of Marina del Rey accommodate various RV sizes, though most require advance booking year-round. Summer temperatures typically range from 65-85°F with cooler coastal mornings that often feature marine layer fog.

What to do

Beach activities: Access the 20+ mile coastal bike path directly from Dockweiler Beach RV Park. This beachfront location places you steps from the Pacific Ocean. "Great spot where you are never alone. Depending on the season, the lot can be packed. It is accommodating for some different size vehicles and has direct beach access and some amenities such as fire pits on the beach," notes one camper.

Wildlife viewing: Explore wetland habitats at Seal Beach. The area provides excellent bird watching opportunities. "Wetlands on the base and birds galore," reports one visitor to the military-only Seabreeze facility, noting the peaceful walking paths and natural setting in this urban area.

Urban adventures: Reach major LA attractions within 15-60 minutes from centrally located parks. Hollywood RV Park places you near major studios and attractions. "We took an uber. If you stay on the West side of the city it's okay (still 50/60 USD) for a single ride. But if you want to explore any of the nicer beaches like Manhattan Beach I do suggest to take the campervan, park at one of the malls in that area and then take an uber from there," advises one camper.

What campers like

Oceanfront views: Several parks offer premium Pacific Ocean viewing. Malibu Beach RV Park provides dramatic coastal vistas from a bluff. "I have been on a 3 month trip and stayed at 22 different campgrounds. Malibu RV Resort has the best views for the price, hands down," shares one reviewer. Another mentions "Every spot has a great view of the Pacific Ocean from high upon a cliff!"

Clean facilities: Many parks maintain well-kept amenities despite urban settings. Parks like Newport Dunes RV Resort prioritize cleanliness. "Very well maintained campground. The spots are groomed and clean when you come in," notes one visitor. The resort features a lagoon with inflatable water obstacles that families particularly enjoy.

Security features: Most parks offer controlled access for safety. Several facilities have evening security staff or gated entry. "Very quiet and safe. Security is very good and felt very safe, especially considering the location," reports one camper about Golden Shore RV Resort.

What you should know

Airport noise levels: Several parks experience aircraft noise. Dockweiler Beach RV Park sits near LAX flight paths. "You will hear each and every of the planes taking off from LAX, but at one point you don't hear them anymore. It was not really annoying, but that flight at 5a was," shares one camper. Similarly, Hollywood RV Park sits near Burbank Airport, with one reviewer noting "the park is right next to the departure/arrival runway for Burbank."

Space limitations: Sites can be extremely tight, especially for larger rigs. Most parks have limited space between units. "The spots are close together but the spectacular views and open sky of the ocean more than make up for it," notes one Malibu Beach RV Park visitor.

Additional fees: Many parks charge extra for various services and amenities. Some parks charge additional fees for pets, vehicles, extra campers, and amenities. Hollywood RV Park employs a unique system where "they use a cart to park you" due to the tight spacing.

Tips for camping with families

Pool availability: Look for parks with swimming options for children. Golden Shore RV Resort provides a heated pool and hot tub that families appreciate. "We also liked having the hot tub/pool at the end of the day. Our girls loved swimming and soaking," shares one parent about Waterfront RV Park.

Beach proximity: Consider parks within walking distance to beaches. Several parks offer direct or nearly direct beach access. "Very well maintained campground... Great Long Beach location, a nice bike ride along the beach to Naples and the Queen Mary," notes one visitor to Golden Shore RV Resort.

Family activities: Choose parks with organized programs. Newport Dunes offers family-friendly programming. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," shares a regular visitor.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Request specific areas when booking. Different sections of parks can provide drastically different experiences. At Waterfront RV Park, one RVer suggests "If I were again to come, I would stay in a site in the 84-89 numbers, and the sites 26-36 are HUGE." Another camper at Anaheim Harbor RV Park recommends "get a deluxe site if you can. The standard sites are essentially a large parking spot in a paved parking lot."

Setup considerations: Many parks have specific requirements for RV positioning. Hollywood RV Park has unique procedures where "the spaces are so close together that they use a cart to park you," according to one reviewer. Most parks have specific hose length and hookup requirements.

Urban navigation challenges: Plan your route carefully to avoid low bridges or tight turns. Several campers note difficulty navigating LA's streets with larger rigs. "Driving and parking and RV in LA can be challenging and parking an RV in west LA is not allowed," warns one visitor to Hollywood RV Park.
