    Spacious and Accommodating

We visited this park earlier this spring. Yes it was wet, but we didn't mind. Liked the spaces and layout so much...we are going back this fall. Plus we love that whole area.

However, DYRT got some info wrong. While there are plenty of full hookup spaces for RVs, there are no pull thru sites. Only back in for trailers and drive-in for coaches. Many tent camping spaces and RV spaces w/just water and power. The folks are friendly and helpful.

    Candlestick RV Park

    A homeless shelter

The streets are lined with homeless living in RVs etc leading up to the RV park and after, it smells like sewage. When arriving I was moved to 3 different sites, all of which I couldn’t fit into. The guy running the park blamed me for not telling him I have a tow vehicle... he did however know the length of my trailer and every spot he put me in wasn’t long enough for the trailer alone. I may have been able to back into the spaces but would’ve been hanging out a bit which I could’ve tried to deal with if it weren’t for the fact that I could not maneuver to back into any space because everyone that’s there has been there very long term and is living there. They all have garbage and debris overflowing their sites preventing me from backing in properly. The place is incredibly run down and dirty, it didn’t feel safe. I requested my money back which he did and then I left. I can’t believe that even being in the city, though the bad side of the city at that he’s charging $125 a night! I’ve been all over the country and I have to say that $25-$30 a night would be an extreme stretch realistically. Stay far away from here, it’s not safe, it’s not clean.

Half Moon Bay State Beach Campground

    Busy Campground in May

The hike and bike area is next to the RV hookup sites, and it can get a good bit of foot traffic.  Restrooms/showers were dirty, but that seems to be from the day visitors to the beach. It was cool and breezy, but still enjoyable on the beach.

    Too close for comfort

Our group stayed here in early August of 2017. This RV resort gets packed!! RV’s were super close together so it’s a roll of the dice on what kind of neighbors you’re gonna get!!There are a few picnic tables around, but nothing in terms of entertainment for kids. Thank goodness we brought the kids’ bikes!! If you are willing to sacrifice the close proximity to neighbors, there are some killer views of the Pacific Ocean. We even saw whales!! The sunset was pretty killer, too.

    Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Scenic Campsites with Great Hiking Trails

Anthony Chabot Campgrounds sits high up on the Castro Valley Hills overlooking Lake Chabot. There are several awesome hiking trails going down to the lake as well as some equestrian trails. The hiking trails go around the lake. Dogs are allowed but they should be on a leash. Lake Chabot has a marina that rents boats for recreational use and fishing. It's a few miles driver to get there from the campgrounds. I only gave it 4 stars because of that. They have tent and RV campsites, but no RV hookups.

Inexpensive Full and Partial Hook-ups in Napa Valley

Clean showers and bathrooms, some trees, close to Raley’s Grocery store. Easy drive to the wineries of Napa Valley, a little further to Sonoma but a nice drive. Picnic table, some full hook-ups and some partial, we will ask for full hook ups next time just for ease of getting out when your ready to go.

    Great camp for the kids

This KOA is pretty big with plenty of options for RV sites. Wide variety of full hook-ups or partial hook-ups. Like most (if not all) KOAs, you can also tent camp or tent cabins. Good size dog park for the pets to run and be free, as well as plenty of fun activities to entertain the kiddos. For us, this is a great spot to shoot down the highway and pull in for a few days to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life! Close to downtown Petaluma with plenty of premium shops and restaurants.

    Location is the key..

For what this RV park is designed to be, it is done very well. It’s a parking lot with full hookups strategically located to public transit direct to San Francisco. It’s surprisingly quiet for being in a semi industrial area right next to the 101, but there is road noise of course. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

But I can’t give a parking lot 4 or 5 stars. That said it served our needs just fine and we’d stay there again, especially if we were visiting San Fran.

Great views, but close to the neighbors

First, you stay here for the views. Great views from the first two rows closest to the water. There are very few plantings between spaces. No hook ups at all, but water is available if you fill before you park. Seven dollar dump station. Each campsite has a fire ring and a wooden picnic table and grass. Since there’s no hook ups between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM, you will always be listening to somebody’s generator running. Always. No privacy at this campground. I did not check out the bathrooms for the campground, but I did look at the bathrooms for the large boat launch area next-door. No showers in that bathroom, but it was clean. A bit spendy for no hookups. Safe. Zero long term campers when I was here. There are no first come first served campsites at this location. All camping spaces had a reserve sign on them, even though the place was about 40% full. Completely dark at night, which was great.

    Quiet, NO other tenters!

We (party of 4) were there primarily because we rented a boat from their Marina. That went well! This is an RV campground & full-complement resort on Bethel Island, San Joaquin River Delta. Many RVers appear to be long-term or full-time residents.

The tent-area was a clearing, fully backed up to the levee, with some shade and a water spigot. Appears to be only 4 “sites,” which are defined by picnic tables, GENEROUSLY spaced, no fire rings AND the Delta is h.o.t.! It’s also on the far edge of the property, so car traffic was MINIMUM — and NO generators were heard, even though the RV section is huge!!!

The rest rooms were in the Marina building, a short walk. We would DEFINITELY return for boating and tenting!!!

Contra Costa County Fair RV Park

    Not what you think

Located at the Contra Costa County fairgrounds, this is an rv campground that doesn’t allow long term stay. These spaces are located directly next Antioch Speedway, where Saturday nights from Spring-Fall have dirt-track racing, it gets loud and dusty. During the morning-afternoon, Sat & Sun you have the flea market...where the camp sites are, is directly between the two. I would only recommend staying here if you are passing through for a night. Antioch has become riddled with crime, so if you’re passing through, my recommendation is to continue through Antioch, to the next option. There are no paved roads or pads, this all gravel, with a little bit of grass, what you see in the photo, is not of the campground, or anything near it.

    Private Family Oriented Campground

Pros: Has numerous amenities including hot (free) showers (cleaned daily), flush toilets, full hookup RV spots, laundromat, US Post office, fenced playground, dog park, drive in tent sites, and firewood for sale. Cons: expensive, sites are close and poorly defined and the after hours check in procedure doesn’t prevent overlapping.

    Very nice

This campground was a challenge to get to. Many windy roads (clearly not their fault). Some shady sites. Few full hook up available. Honey wagon available for non-sewer sites for $25. Clean bathrooms/showers. Dirt sites mostly level. The sites across the back of the campground are beautiful. Most have nice space between them. Great laundry room! I would book here again for a good long stay! Lots to do as it is near San Francisco, beaches, and Reyes Point. Nice “town” area too not far away.

This place was great full hook up W,E,S,C you get a fire pit and a picnic table, 3 minute walk to restaurant and deli, public restroom is clean every morning and garbage gets emptied...amazing views the only reason why it's not a 5 star is the price and wifi is really slow but if that is not an issue with you guys then you'll definitely love this place

    location, location, location

This RV Park gets 5 stars purely for it's location.  Drive in, park and then walk to all the sights you want to see in San Francisco.  A short 10 minute walk from the RV park is the ferry that will drop you off downtown San Francisco.  We spent a week here and only drove when we wanted the experience driving down Lombard St and driving across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Otherwise we took the ferry and then public transportation to all other points of interest in the San Francisco area.  It truly is nothing more than a parking lot with hookups.

Clean park at edge of SF Bay Area

We camp here with our travel trailer at the start of each season, to check out all our systems. If you are visiting and want to go to San Francisco, I think this is one of the closest RV parks to the city.

Sites are grassy, some with trees, and pretty close together.

If the Alameda Fairgrounds are having an event, you can't beat this location, it's on the property.

    A Lovely Little Surprise

When I read reviews of this campground, we almost went elsewhere. So glad we didn't. What a lovely spot! Staff was immediately responsive when an issue came up involving a camper in a wrong site. I was impressed that they wet down the roads a couple of times per day to keep the dust down. They work hard to keep the sites neat & trimmed. We had full hook-ups @ our site. We were there Thurs through Tues. Most nights were very quiet with people retiring by dark. Fr & Sat there were a few more folks up a little later, but by 8p, the campground was dark & quiet. We will return. Great staff from desk to riding mower!

    Trailer Villa RV Park

    Easy-Peazy

This RV park is great! We did a same day drop-in reservation for an overnight stay over the phone. After-hours check-in was a breeze, as the checkin instructions were taped to the main door of the office at the park entrance. The grounds are clean; parking pads are concrete and flat; and drive lanes AND parking spots are wide and spacious for maneuvering large RVs. Quiet hours are observed as we arrived very late and we felt like teenagers sneaking back in the house after a night out! This was just an unplanned stop on along journey so we didn’t explore the rest of the grounds, but I would highly recommend this RV park for any length of stay if the daytime environment is anywhere close to what we experienced at night! Happy trails!

    Handy for Napa Area

It’s good for an RV park type setting, but it’s still an RV Park.

    Close to town.

We didn’t try the trails as we explored the area by car.

The RTT area is generously sized, but not marked so you just have to hope you have respectful neighbors. We did!

    No shade in that area.

We enjoyed the wild turkeys wandering through camp.

Recommend the Hog Island Oyster Company at the farmers market in town.
