    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Dockweiler Beach RV Park accommodates pets at its beachfront camping location with full hookups and clean facilities. RV sites along the ocean allow dogs with standard leash requirements, though some spaces are quite compact, especially in the hookup area. The noise from LAX aircraft overhead becomes less noticeable after the first day for most campers with pets. Malibu Creek State Park Campground provides another pet-friendly option with more spacious sites offering partial shade and picnic tables where leashed dogs are welcome year-round. Both locations maintain clean restrooms and shower facilities that make extended stays with pets more comfortable.

Malibu Beach RV Park extends pet access with designated walking areas and sewer hookups that prove convenient for longer stays with animals. The nearby coastal bike path at Dockweiler spans miles in either direction, offering excellent morning exercise opportunities for dogs and owners. Pet owners should note that summer temperatures at Malibu Creek can become extremely hot with limited shade on many sites, making spring or fall visits more comfortable for animals. Angeles Crest Overlook provides a more rustic alternative for those seeking dispersed camping with dogs, though without amenities like water or restrooms. Leo Carrillo State Park's Canyon Campground welcomes pets at its walkable tent and RV sites with fires permitted in designated rings, providing a more traditional camping experience for visitors with dogs.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Waterfront RV Park, CA

Located in Huntington Beach California. This site is right across the street from the beach. Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping. When we asked for camera footage the owners of the campground claimed the cameras were broken and they couldn’t share the footage. There are many homeless folks living in the area. The showers don’t get hot, but the area is clean. There is a pool and a hot tub and a small dog park. It’s expensive to stay here, but a beautiful spot.

      Hollywood RV Park

      Themed Park!

First of all, staff was amazing. We were originally supposed to arrive on a Tuesday and we’re not able to make it. Staff shifted our reservation instead of us eating the missed night cost. Also super accommodating allowing us to extend a day longer last minute. Park is tight quarters with 200 spots. Two laundry rooms/bathrooms with showers on site, plus a cute little dog park! We stayed for three nights. Every “road” in the park is themed with California or Hollywood themed decorations and murals. We were parked right next to a Mister Roger’s mural across from the laundry/bathrooms. My only complaint in the noise level at times which is not from the park itself. Helicopters would fly over randomly, sometimes at night and it could be annoying when trying to sleep. Otherwise, absolute GEM of a place!

      Hare School Park

It’s the sports fields parking lot

I’ve been here for a couple days and nobody’s mess with us. There’s other people that are staying in another parking lot attached that are homeless in their vehicles mostly cars and vans. I’m in a 25 foot Fleetwood RV. There’s a dog park kind of area with a big field they can run around and just clean up after them. There’s no public bathrooms, but there are trash cans so clean up after yourself please. It’s not tent friendly. I don’t believe.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

Rolling M. Ranch Campground — Chino Hills State Park

      Beautifully scenic area

Sprawling lush green hills? Can’t beat Chino Hills State Park.
The campground itself feels very close together and wide open compared to the space of the park. Gets loud at night if there are too many groups camping. No cell service. Super clean bathrooms and showers.

PET OWNERS BEWARE: Our dog munched on a frog at this campsite and started foaming at the mouth. We rinsed her mouth out with water and she turned out fine, but a smaller dog or a swallowed frog and she could have died from toxicity.

      Lake Campground

Acceptable last minute camping, not great, not terrible.

      Pros: Large campsites

                Clean-ish toilets

                Lake within walking distance

      Cons: Right near highway, noisy

Lots of flies during the day

                 tent sites are very flat

Last minute trip and decided to check out Lake Campground. There are 8 sites placed on this hilly area, with a vault toilet in the center of the campground. It is located right next to the highway, so it can be pretty noisy during the day as its a popular route for motorcyclists. The campground itself was fairly clean, and all the sites were very large and spaced well away from each other. The sites weren't very flat, so options to set your tent up were very limited. Some sites had some shade, others almost none. There were tons of flies, very active during the daytime, but went away during the evening. The vault toilets were the cleanest I'd seen (For vault toilets) and the staff came through the campgrounds several times a day.

Jackson Lake is a short walk from the campgrounds. It has a nice day use picnic area with coal grills, picnic benches, and four vault toilets (in pretty poor condition). The lake was pretty small and had a stagnant smell to it. Lots of people were fishing, and a few people waded into the waters. I saw people in rafts / kayaks later in the day. The area was covered in fleas so careful with pets.

    Guide to Culver City

Culver City camping options span across coastal, canyon, and urban park settings with elevations ranging from sea level to 3,000 feet in the surrounding mountains. The Mediterranean climate delivers mild temperatures year-round, though coastal fog can create damp mornings at beachside locations. Campground proximity to major highways makes many sites accessible within 15-45 minutes of Culver City.

    What to do

Beach exploration: 10-minute walk from Dockweiler Beach RV Park to shoreline areas with tide pools and sea views. "The RV park has a hookup area and a dry camping area. The dry camp provides much more space, but only relatively small RVs. The park is right next to the beach, walk 1 minute and you're there," notes camper Ignasi M.

Mountain biking: 5+ miles of trails at Malibu Creek State Park Campground. "The state park is a former movie set and is filled with easily accessible trails for hiking and some for mountain biking. The primary trails were open fire roads with off-shoots to lakes, pools, meadows, and more," reports Ryan W.

Wildlife viewing: Dawn and dusk optimal for spotting native species at multiple sites. "The wildlife is abundant. There is plenty of birdwatching, and coyotes were wandering through the park and campground without fear. On a hike right out of the park a few hundred yards, I came across a pair of bobcats—mom and cub—making their way to a running creek," shares a camper at Malibu Creek State Park.

    What campers like

Proximity to urban amenities: Golden Shore RV Resort sits just minutes from shopping and entertainment. "Great place to spend the weekend. Close enough to some good shopping and restaurants! Only downside is they lock the bathrooms from 8pm-730am," reports Derrick.

Bike path access: Extensive paved trails connect several dog-friendly campgrounds near Culver City. "There's also a bike path that goes for miles both north or south - great for an early workout," mentions Ignasi M. about Dockweiler.

Varied terrain options: Leo Carrillo State Park Campground offers both canyon and beach settings within walking distance. "We spent 3 nights at this campground and had a great time. They have a camp store right in the middle of the campground that has essentials. Bathrooms were nice. Walking distance to the beach. Best part," explains Gina C.

    What you should know

Airport noise considerations: Dockweiler campers should anticipate jet sounds that diminish over time. "We loved this spot next to the beach. We got used to the planes, but they are certainly jarring at first," notes Tyler G.

Site spacing variations: Some locations offer more privacy than others. "The sites are fairly open and close to each other, so be prepared to hear everything, and because the campground is close to the city it is popular with groups and families," cautions a Malibu Creek camper.

Seasonal temperature fluctuations: "I came here during the summer and it was extremely HOT. Typically during the summer season, I like to find campgrounds that have a lot of lush trees so we can be under the canopies and stay cool," shares Chanel C. about summer conditions at Malibu Creek.

Vehicle size restrictions: Angeles Crest Overlook works better for compact vehicles. "Would recommend to smaller vans or car sleepers. I did not feel unsafe except for the donuts that happened near us," advises Nicole D.

    Tips for camping with families

Beach proximity trade-offs: Consider noise versus convenience factors. "We had a dry campsite a bit further from the airport, so the plane noise was much less," recommends Prince C. at Dockweiler Beach RV Park.

Educational wildlife opportunities: Schedule morning nature walks for optimal viewing. "The wildlife is abundant. There is plenty of birdwatching, and coyotes were wandering through the park and campground without fear," notes a visitor to Malibu Creek.

Bathroom access considerations: "Golden Shore RV resort in Long Beach, CA... very quiet and safe. Security is very good and felt very safe, especially considering the location. The grounds are kept in excellent condition - very clean and secure. The pool, showers, bathrooms are all spotless," shares Rachel P., highlighting important family comfort factors.

    Tips from RVers

Size-appropriate site selection: Bonelli Bluffs offers various options based on rig dimensions. "We chose Bonelli for our shakedown trip in our new trailer (first time RVers). SO quiet. Numerous residents, but spots are mostly keep up nicely. Our rental spot has 3 trees, a picnic table, a firepit, level parking(!) and full hookups," reports Aostara K.

Power management options: Different campgrounds provide varying hookup capabilities. "All hookups 30/50 amp. Cable TV. There's a pool. A tent area. Some spaces monumentally better than others," notes Dennis B. about Bonelli Bluffs.

Pet-friendly campground sections: Most dog friendly campgrounds near Culver City designate specific areas for pets. "Dog friendly, clean, quiet, love the grass and trees nicely kept property. Definitely coming back, we had a great time here!" shares Marcella D. about her experience at Bonelli Bluffs with pets.
