This is a great campground. The campsites are all good size, so you don’t feel like you are on top each other. There is also plenty of shade. We stay in D loop. And my husband and his family had been going there since he was young. So we decided to carry on the tradition.
We drove through the area scouting out camping spots for future trips. This is not a weekend camping trip location. This is more of a permanent set up where you would leave your camper for months at a time. I bet there is a great community of friends here and lots of fun to be had, but this is not a pull up and “camp” for the weekend type of place.
Lots of really nice sites on the water. The campground is well maintained. There is a swim beach with sand and also a great playground. I bet this place is packed in the summer! There were several people winter camping here. The bathhouse isn’t close for the people like me without a bathroom in their RV or tent campers.
This is a great fishing hole with a small campground! The sites are nice and have great views of the lake. For those of you with RV’s beware that there is no sewer dump station here. You have to drive to Crowleys Ridge State Park to use their dump station. (10 minute drive).
The drawback for me is that this campground only has vault toilets and no showers.
The campground was empty when we visited and the office was closed, so we didn’t get to go inside and learn more about the area.
We loved this park! Our site was on the river, and the park is very clean and well maintained. There is ample spacing, and spacious patio areas with firepits. We had water and 30A electric (50A is available), the dump station is located at the park entrance. There was a group of tent camper’s across the road from us, adjacent to the warm and clean bath house (one of several in the park). The age range we observed was 20’s to 70’s, and several families with young children. There are also several potable water fill points. We will definitely return!
We stayed here over Veteran's Day weekend and had a pretty good time. We camped in site 54 which the website listed as a 45ft pad, but it was pretty difficult getting our 32ft camper in there. Only complaints would be- it was a small campsite, not alot of room around the firepit, and the only trash dumpster were at the dump station. Besides that, it was a nice park with a swimming area, playground, and walking trails.
This is a nice RV park situated perfectly near the downtown Mountain View Area and the Ozark Folk Center State Park. It is a small, quiet park with lots of spots for gathering in groups. RV sites are level, have concrete pad and tables. You can request a fire ring. There is a bathhouse, but we didn’t use it. Very clean, lots of trees, and WiFi!
