"A lake is generally deeper than a pond. You weigh the depth and surface to judge if a body of water is one or the other. In Arkansas you will find a pond on a ranch or a farm."

"Greers Ferry Lake is one of those places. However, as I said in a review of “Heber Springs,” if I’m reviewing campgrounds here, it isn’t accurate to review “Greers Ferry Lake.”"

    Holiday Mountain Resort

    Great Campground

Creek is full of smallmouth bass, great swimming holes for the kids, and some shallow wading areas to lounge in chairs or find crawfish. Owners are great people and very helpful. Awesome place to stay!

Love staying here but there's downsides

I love staying here but for monthly rent at 490 you get just water and sewage hookups and the back of the office building had 1 shower and a laundromat with only 1 dryer and 1 washer.. which can be aggravating at times of heavy traffic needing to use those amenities. The dial up internet is basic and does go in and out alot... and not to mention the groundskeeper ain't very pleasant but you hardly ever see him doing his grounds keeping work until every other weekend it seems and that's just to mow, weedeat, and blow the leaves and grass away.

    Dam - Quarry

    Tall grass

The campground is nice. The grounds are unkept this year. The grass is already tall and when we asked about it we were told it’s only getting taller. The grass will not be cut at all this year. Bring your weed eater or mower I guess.

Henry Gray Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area

    Can be wet. REQUIRES PERMIT

It had rained and the road in was near a foot deep flowing water. Not a problem on our motorcycle but a car may have issues with water coming in. This was a, nice Campground BUT it does require a hunting/fishing permit and we were given a written warning. Apparently this is true of all Arkansas public property despite app saying otherwise.

    Lake Charles State Park Campground

    Woods and water!

Well maintained state park with a swimming beach, walking/biking trails, playgrounds.  We used this as a stopping point for a longer journey and enjoyed the warm water in the showers and the lake views.  Mosquitoes were a bit of a nuisance in the evening, but that is to be expected for the area.
