Best Cabin Camping near Golden Valley, AZ

Cabin accommodations near Golden Valley include Kingman KOA with miniature log cabins and Hualapai Mountain Park offering historic stone cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Kingman KOA cabins provide electricity, beds, and air conditioning, while Hualapai Mountain Park cabins feature more rustic accommodations. Most cabin sites include picnic tables and fire rings or grills. Davis Camp Park in Bullhead City also offers riverfront cabin rentals with proximity to water activities. A review noted that Kingman KOA has "adorable mini log cabins for rent" with nearby amenities including mini golf, horseshoes, and a pool.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. Most cabins require advance reservations, particularly during summer months when temperatures in lower elevations exceed 100°F. The cabins at Hualapai Mountain Park provide a cooler mountain retreat. KOA cabins typically allow pets with an additional fee, while policies vary at other locations. Colorado River Oasis RV Resort provides cabin rentals with river views and private boat ramp access. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, Ridgeview RV Resort offers "private little rentals" with access to a "spotless pool and spa."

Most cabin rentals include beds with mattresses but require visitors to bring their own bedding, pillows, and towels. Basic cabins may have limited or no kitchen facilities, so portable cooking equipment is recommended. KOA campgrounds typically offer camp stores with essential supplies, firewood, and ice. On-site restaurants are available at some locations, including Ridgeview Resort which a visitor mentioned offers "weekend brunch for $5 dollars." Bathroom and shower facilities are centrally located at most campgrounds, though some deluxe cabins include private bathrooms.

    Kingman KOA

    Overnighter

The people at the Kingman Koa were very nice and accommodating. Rv spots are all dirt but surrounded by trees and bushes for some privacy. Bathrooms were older but clean. There is a cute dog park with a few tunnels to climb on, but no grass. A bunch to do for kids. They have a nice playground, mini golf, horse shoes, and a pool. The pool was good side but the water was alittle merky.

Adorable mini log cabins for rent.

Overall good place for short trips. Tucked in a neighborhood and close to retail and town. Propane fill up available on site.

    Needles KOA

desert camping you have to pay for

ok ok ok... this place does offer a lot!!! A clean blue swimming pool, laundry, showers, and bathrooms. each camp spot has pads, bbq grills, and water sources, some also offer a little covered canopy which is needed out here. In case you want to stay in a cabin, they have small cabins available to rent. This place has a variety of games around that can be fun for groups. I gave it a 4 only because it's really nothing special besides the amenities they could for sure have put some nice trees in to make it more shade for guest.

Davis Camp Park - Mohave County

    Waterfront campsites

Loved being able to set up our Napier Sportz tent with our Subaru at the river's edge on the Colorado River just outside of Bullhead City, Az. (across from Laughlin, NV). So clear! Lots of families with jet skis, which we found entertaining although noisy. We just parked our beach chairs in the water as it was hot!! Bath and showers ok, but a hike up the stairs. Pet friendly, too!

    Desert View RV Resort

Well the name says it all

Gravel roads and oleanders between each site for total privacy. You are in the desert but they have made this place feel like you are not in the desert. Each site is pull through and has a pavement slab for table or chairs, water, sewer and 50 amp hook ups. On property they offer showers, T-Mobile phone service, dump station, picnic tables, toilets, WiFi and trash. Pets are allowed! Yayyy... Reservations can be made.

    Needles Marina Resort

    Everything one could need

Cool Little Spot !! Talk about clean! This place has exceeded that by all means. The bathroom was immaculate as can be. With kids if the bathroom isn’t clean our babies are not going in. Super dope place right on the river with little sandy beaches on the river and a cool water inlet that is surrounded by grass for a fun family day. This entire place has hook ups and group areas available. They do have cabin rentals as well. Grocery store Golf across the street Tennis courts

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate... the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what OR its not something us campers are on this is more of an airbnb. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again... It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure...Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location... but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE... love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc..... I would not only come back but would live if I could!!! Anyway thanks for reading and enjoy every moment like it's your last! CHEERS!

    Kingman KOA

    Wonderful for kids

This a great experience since we were originally not planning on camping on our way back to California, but it got late and we were tired.we got a KOA basic abin which fit my husband and I and a bunk bed which our son loved. The campground also had a pool, hot tub , play ground, mini golf and a little train that kids to ride in around the park starting at 9:30am. I am glad we stayed here, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the on site store had everything you could need. Like all KOA’s the showers and bathrooms were like nice hotel rooms.

    Hualapai Mountain Park

Decent county park near Kingman with good hiking, cabins and ge group sites

This is a Mohave County park near Kingman AZ. We had a rough start, but it ended up being a reasonable place to stay. And the hiking was excellent.

A couple days before we arrived, someone called to tell us our site was not going to be ready. The caller wanted to move us across the road to their RV park. We explained we had a teardrop trailer, and they moved our reservation. When we arrived, we realized the RV park was a big parking lot (albeit with a nice view) but there were no bathrooms. It is, however, a full hookup park. If you don't mind camping within a few feet of your neighbors and have a bathroom with your unit, this is a good option. That doesn't work for a teardrop with a living compartment with a futon that folds down into a bed plus a kitchen on the back. A trip back to the office led us to a site across from group camping with a nearby bathroom. (There were two other group sites deeper in the park. All group areas looked nice and were appropriate for large groups.)

Showers were up above where we camped, but we quickly found out these were locked units that were only for people in some of the cabins that didn't have showers. Oh well, there was a wellness center in Kingman with a gym/shower. That's a good option for occasional showers because we planned to stay multiple nights. Cabins looked nice from the outside, but we didn't see the inside.

There were a couple camping areas that had nice sites but the road to get to one area was steep and deeply pitted. We would not have wanted to take our trailer too far into those areas. Tent campers, campervans and truck campers would be okay. I don't think they intend for people to tow anything to those spots, but they were very rough (even for a car).

But....we found an excellent hiking loop and were able to do a 7 to 8 mile hike in varied mountain terrain. There is a good map online that shows all the hiking options. On our way to the trailhead, we passed the area where we had made our reservation. I'm not sure why they waited to call us until a couple days before our stay because this area was not even close to ready for camping. Not sure if it is new or just being redone.

Wildlife in the area - deer and elk. I was running on the road in one direction while an elk was headed for the campground in the other direction.

    Hualapai Mountain Park

    Nice But Crowded

Going 3-star only because it's pretty crowded. Tent platform sites, picnic table sites, various sized cabins. Not many tent sites, although it appears they are adding more. Ranger was very friendly and accommodating to let tent campers use picnic table sites without platforms. Sites are very close to each other. Good water spouts. Lots of hiking trails right out od camp.

    Pirate Cove

    Fun themed park!!

What a fun place for you and your kids! Lots of River activities and ATV trails. If you don't have the toys, they have all types of rentals available for purchase (1/2 day and full day increments).

The cottages were beautiful, the on site restaurant was huge and inviting! There are tent sites, RV sites, and boat docks.

I have T-Mobile, and didn't receive any signal while I was there.

What campers like

Temperature differences: Hualapai Mountain Park cabins provide escape from summer heat. A visitor explained, "$20 a night, dry camp will get you out of the blast furnace of the Kingman summer. 10 gorgeous miles of hiking trails. Rent a 1930's stone cabin for $90."

Private spaces: Cabins often include defined outdoor areas. One reviewer at Kingman KOA mentioned, "They all have fences, ours had shrubs, which gave the feeling of privacy. The showers were fine and there are toilets right by the tent sites."

Family amenities: Davis Camp Park - Mohave County receives praise for family-friendly cabin options. "Bath and showers ok, but a hike up the stairs. Pet friendly, too! Loved being able to set up our Napier Sportz tent with our Subaru at the river's edge on the Colorado River."

Casino access: Cabin locations near Laughlin/Bullhead City provide gaming options. A visitor noted, "It's neat if you take the water taxis across to the casinos and walk the boardwalk, there are so many bugs so be prepared."

What you should know

Site spacing varies: Colorado River Oasis RV Resort offers cabin rental options with varying privacy. "Super nice RV resort in Bullhead city, I was blown away to find this little gem in this area. They do have other little cabins or rooms to rent and some that overlook the water."

Seasonal temperature extremes: Lower elevation cabin sites can be unbearable in summer. A visitor warned, "We stayed overnight in July and the temperature when we arrived was 113 degrees! As such, we were confined to our trailer."

Mountain cabin access: Roads to mountain cabins can be challenging. "The Pioneer RV Campground consists of about 10 sites terraced into a hilly area accessed via a steep, one-way but well maintained road."

Firework activity: Cabins near Nevada border often experience nighttime noise. One camper reported, "After getting back to the camper and putting our zombie kids to sleep we noticed that it's still a party outside with fireworks going off throughout the night."

Tips for camping with families

Kids' entertainment: Laughlin Avi KOA / Journey offers supervised evening childcare. A parent shared, "After the sun went down all the parents decided drop off all kids at the kids care play center where you can leave your kid in there till 2am, yes that's right 2am."

Playground options: Mountain cabins offer outdoor play spaces. "We group camp here with fellow youth sports families. The kids love the open areas to run and play in though there are not great playgrounds."

River safety: Davis Camp requires precautions for water activities. "Davis camp has gotten very populated over the years and gets really crowded, really quickly. If you want a nice spot, better get there early."

Kid-friendly transportation: Some locations offer unique experiences. A family reported, "The campground also had a pool, hot tub, play ground, mini golf and a little train that kids to ride in around the park starting at 9:30am."

Tips from RVers

Cabin alternatives: Ridgeview RV Resort provides cabin options with resort amenities. A visitor noted, "Clean bathrooms, spotless pool and spa, stunning restaurant that offers brunch for $5 dollars on the weekends."

Power considerations: Mountain cabins may have limited electrical capacity. "We opted for a site without water because there were plenty of spigots around so I didn't figure it was a must have at that moment."

Site selection: RV sites with cabins nearby can provide flexibility. "Wide, level spaces with bushes in between. Lots of amenities including rec room, playground, dog area, and mini golf."

Site leveling: Prepare for uneven cabin and RV sites in mountain locations. "The campsites were great, but they were not level, and the turnaround area was under construction so I didn't really have room and nearly jackknifed it."
