This little funky 1960’s-era resort is minutes off of interstate I-40. It’s a perfect place to get away and relax in your very own comfortable room, or your own RV space with full hookups or you can even pitch a tent right down by the Colorado River.

Families and groups of all ages are welcome to enjoy our picnic area under shade trees, charcoal grills, a fire pit and a blanket of stars at night all year ‘round.

A perfect location for snowbirds with warm winters and ideal for families to have fun in the sun and in the water all summer long.

You can enjoy the river with fishing, boating, wave running, swimming or just sitting out on one of our decks right over the river taking in the picturesque view of the famous Needles mountains and listening to the currents of the mighty Colorado River rush by. We live on ‘river time’… so remember to stop, relax and put your feet in the water! Pet friendly – so don’t forget to bring your favorite companion.

    Kingman KOA

Not as exciting during the off season

I wanted to find a place that was close to Oatman so I could make a daycation away from the house in Vegas. Everything I saw implied this one was the most reliable and closest to the site. I did see along the path however a few others, but my reservation had already been made and for $30 nonrefundable that meant I was keeping my claim on my site.

The site was not a deluxe site like some KOA's have but it was a non-primitive site and I had hook ups so I was excited to see what it was this campground had to offer.

I was staying during offseason so I knew I wouldn't have access to the pool or hot tub, the hot tub would have been nice however. I was expecting to maybe play some mini golf but the course looked unmaintainted like it too was in the off season, a little disappointing.

Since there wasn't anything to do really at camp I went and explore the Historic Route 66 in Kingman to follow up my fun in Oatman on the same journey. it was quirky and bold and had some really nice stops. I was very happy with having proximity to the options I got to see so it made the campground worth it. I was given a few tips from the office as to the must see locations and I managed to check them out before it got dark. (pictured)

All in all, I wouldn't say I wouldn't give this place a shot again during a different time of year, but during the early months of the year it wasn't all I was wanting it to be and more.

    You might love it

Cool location w access to the Colorado river and not far from the lake. Nice grounds, pool and hot tub.

Wifi does not extend far beyond the clubhouse so bring your own hot spot.

Perfect if you have a condo-sized trailer and carry large motorized vehicles with you wherever you go. Not ideal for me, but you might love it!

    Colorado River Oasis RV Park

    Very well kept and pretty

Super nice RV resort in Bullhead city, I was blown away to find this little gem in this area. It's so well kept and plenty of room for the big rigs, Full hook-ups at every site(w/s/e) 20/30/50 amp, I noticed Concrete patios at most sites, oh, and did I mention they have FREE Wi-Fi throughout the park! Also FREE Cable TV! Very wide sites, with plenty of room for your slide-outs. I was impressed by how clean this park is and the level gravel throughout the park and RV sites. Everyone has access to their dope sandy beach and its free use for any guest to launch their boat. This place is pretty and filled with tropical landscaping. Another bonus is they offer a year-round swimming pool and hot tub and a clubhouse with kitchen facilities & TV, a fitness room, spotless restrooms& showers and I did notice laundry facilities. They do have Group rates as well just inquire with them.

They do have other little cabins or rooms to rent and some that overlook the water. super impressed by this entire place.

    Wonderful for kids

This a great experience since we were originally not planning on camping on our way back to California, but it got late and we were tired.we got a KOA basic abin which fit my husband and I and a bunk bed which our son loved. The campground also had a pool, hot tub , play ground, mini golf and a little train that kids to ride in around the park starting at 9:30am. I am glad we stayed here, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the on site store had everything you could need. Like all KOA’s the showers and bathrooms were like nice hotel rooms.

    Kingman KOA

    Overnighter

The people at the Kingman Koa were very nice and accommodating. Rv spots are all dirt but surrounded by trees and bushes for some privacy. Bathrooms were older but clean. There is a cute dog park with a few tunnels to climb on, but no grass. A bunch to do for kids. They have a nice playground, mini golf, horse shoes, and a pool. The pool was good side but the water was alittle merky.

Adorable mini log cabins for rent.

Overall good place for short trips. Tucked in a neighborhood and close to retail and town. Propane fill up available on site.

    Everything one could need

Cool Little Spot !! Talk about clean! This place has exceeded that by all means. The bathroom was immaculate as can be. With kids if the bathroom isn’t clean our babies are not going in. Super dope place right on the river with little sandy beaches on the river and a cool water inlet that is surrounded by grass for a fun family day. This entire place has hook ups and group areas available. They do have cabin rentals as well. Grocery store Golf across the street Tennis courts

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate... the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what OR its not something us campers are on this is more of an airbnb. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again... It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure...Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location... but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE... love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc..... I would not only come back but would live if I could!!! Anyway thanks for reading and enjoy every moment like it's your last! CHEERS!

    The pirate life for me

Full pirate themed and completely well kept. Nothing out of place in this massive resort. Pirates cove has the softest sand I have ever stepped foot in, Crystal clear river water, and plenty of fun things to do. They have RV, camping and cabins available. Nice restaurant that offers curb side pick up! Do you want food delivered to your boat? Well they do that too!! Wanna have fun on a pirate boat... Well guess what... they have that and plenty of rentals for you and your family. Docks for your boat are also available. We went when it wasn’t summer hectic and was nice more of an off season but still well kept and enjoyable.

    Hualapai Mountain Park

    First time to the "Hualapais"

This is a great place to get away from the heat in Bullhead City. There are lots of dry tent camping sites scattered throughout the park, or you could rent a cabin or even a teepee. There are rv sites with full hook ups if that's your preference. We went tent camping in the pine basin section there's no water so we brought enough for the trip. In our area I only saw port a potties scattered throughout the area. There are a lot of deer wandering around and they're not shy, a doe walked right up to me the first morning while I was making coffee. I have been told there are Elk wandering around too but I didn't see any. We enjoyed it there and will be going back. The fees are reasonable $17.00 a night for camping, you can buy firewood and ice at the check in station.

desert camping you have to pay for

ok ok ok... this place does offer a lot!!! A clean blue swimming pool, laundry, showers, and bathrooms. each camp spot has pads, bbq grills, and water sources, some also offer a little covered canopy which is needed out here. In case you want to stay in a cabin, they have small cabins available to rent. This place has a variety of games around that can be fun for groups. I gave it a 4 only because it's really nothing special besides the amenities they could for sure have put some nice trees in to make it more shade for guest.

2nd great visit to this park

This is our 2nd stay at Lake Havasu State Park. We had site C-2 in the cabin loop with W/E. Recommend weekdays if you like quiet camping. We were there Monday thru Thursday with only a couple days advanced resi and had the cabin loop all to ourselves until the last night. Most weekends are booked. As always the park is immaculate with nice personal combo bathrooms & showers. Clean & level tent sites as well. The park staff had huge smiles and waves at the gate every time we returned from our days adventure. Great welcome!

Disgusting Cabins, Overcrwoded, Noisy, Not Safe, Trash Everywhere

Cabins are disgusting, park is overcrowded and noisy, trash everywhere, did not feel safe staying there, there are fire restrictions all months of the year even when there is snow on the ground. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are much nicer places just an hour away near Flagstaff.

    Nice But Crowded

Going 3-star only because it's pretty crowded. Tent platform sites, picnic table sites, various sized cabins. Not many tent sites, although it appears they are adding more. Ranger was very friendly and accommodating to let tent campers use picnic table sites without platforms. Sites are very close to each other. Good water spouts. Lots of hiking trails right out od camp.

    A flu(ke) trip

The park is very nicely laid out and the site was great. We got kinda lucky cuz the country was shut down due to the flu from China and there was hardly anyone around. Our first trip there was Dec 2020 and most everything was closed, on our 2nd trip in Oct 2022 the place was very busy with snowbirds & all the camps & cabins were booked. Though we liked our first trip we wouldn't return cuz it's just too popular.

This is a nice little campground where everybody seems to be very friendly. There's a nice activities room, laundry room and swimming pool. Most of the people here are snowbirds and they come back every year. This place is nice and close to Laughlin Nevada, Oatman and Bullhead City and yet it is still out in the country.

    Lake Havasu State Park Campground

    Arizona State Beach

Camped here  April 28 and stayed for 2 nights. Was very close to home but wanted to test out the new trailer. It's $30 a night for non beach sites and $40 for beach front. The sites are well separated and there are fire rings, cabana and picnic tables at each site. There is also water and electric at all sites, 30 and 50 amp.  Its was very warm the days we stayed and had the A/C on the whole time. There are flush toilets and showers available. Nice hiking trails around the park. The campground staff are all pleasant and they keep the sites and bathrooms very clean. Its even close enough to town that you can walk to many nice restaurants. The beach's are sandy and you have a nice view of the sunset over the water in the evening. There is a dump station for those with holding tanks. All sites are reservable and there are also air conditioned cabins for rent.

    Hualapai Mountain Park

Decent county park near Kingman with good hiking, cabins and ge group sites

This is a Mohave County park near Kingman AZ. We had a rough start, but it ended up being a reasonable place to stay. And the hiking was excellent.

A couple days before we arrived, someone called to tell us our site was not going to be ready. The caller wanted to move us across the road to their RV park. We explained we had a teardrop trailer, and they moved our reservation. When we arrived, we realized the RV park was a big parking lot (albeit with a nice view) but there were no bathrooms. It is, however, a full hookup park. If you don't mind camping within a few feet of your neighbors and have a bathroom with your unit, this is a good option. That doesn't work for a teardrop with a living compartment with a futon that folds down into a bed plus a kitchen on the back. A trip back to the office led us to a site across from group camping with a nearby bathroom. (There were two other group sites deeper in the park. All group areas looked nice and were appropriate for large groups.)

Showers were up above where we camped, but we quickly found out these were locked units that were only for people in some of the cabins that didn't have showers. Oh well, there was a wellness center in Kingman with a gym/shower. That's a good option for occasional showers because we planned to stay multiple nights. Cabins looked nice from the outside, but we didn't see the inside.

There were a couple camping areas that had nice sites but the road to get to one area was steep and deeply pitted. We would not have wanted to take our trailer too far into those areas. Tent campers, campervans and truck campers would be okay. I don't think they intend for people to tow anything to those spots, but they were very rough (even for a car).

But....we found an excellent hiking loop and were able to do a 7 to 8 mile hike in varied mountain terrain. There is a good map online that shows all the hiking options. On our way to the trailhead, we passed the area where we had made our reservation. I'm not sure why they waited to call us until a couple days before our stay because this area was not even close to ready for camping. Not sure if it is new or just being redone.

Wildlife in the area - deer and elk. I was running on the road in one direction while an elk was headed for the campground in the other direction.

    Anything and everything

This camp ground has so much it’s a little village in its own. Who doesn’t love camping and walking straight out to the River at your feet? Literally tent camping is allowed that close. Forgot your ice? They sale that on site as well. They have dump stations for your RVs and fresh water source to Fill up. They have covered tables and bbq grills as well. You can rent cabins that they have available but they are always booked up so if that’s what your after make sure to book in advance. Even if your not camping and you just want to go in it’s ten dollars no matter just so you know. Summer time this place is lines miles long so get there a day early before the weekend starts to save you a little wait. This place you can get to by boat, drive, and even walking. They do have clean bathrooms and it’s Well kept. Keep your food in containers because they have skunks and raccoons.. I know crazy.. little fact the entire Laughlin area has them near the water and hotels because they want a quick meal. AnywAy have proper storage because you may wake up to nothing... really nice place on the water!

    Hualapai Mountain Park

    High desert retreat

I enjoyed my stay here. The terrain is steep, with mountain pines and boulders. This was a welcome change from the surrounding country, as was the lower temperature that comes with higher elevation. It was about 10 °F cooler here than in Kingman when I visited in June. Tent camping is first come first served. I had no problem finding a good spot on a Friday night.

There are two areas to the campground. The front section has paved roads and is mostly cabins with some tent sites mixed in. There are real bathrooms here, though they were in need of a cleaning when I visited. The back section has dirt roads and all tent sites, with a few porta potties. The roads are steep in places, but nicely graded. My front wheel drive passenger car traversed them without difficulty.

It is very quiet and dark here at night. Flashlights are a must, as are water vessels: there are no water spigots in the back section. I also saw what I am 80% sure was a mountain lion crossing the road at night when I was walking to one of the porta potties.

The only real downside I noticed here was the flies. They don't bite, but they buzz around you constantly and can get pretty annoying.
