Small campground right on the river

We loved this campground! Perfect for two adults in Campervan that like privacy. We stayed in the first site and while it was sort of close to the road the noise wasn’t bad because you have the river so close. Perhaps not the best site for small children. But with limited access to the kenai, we…

Wonderful get away!

We were looking for a place not too far from home that could accommodate our daughters wheelchair and Moose Creek Campground was the perfect solution!

We got two spots and brought our whole family for four days...wonderfully relaxing and fun!!

Didn’t like highway noise and lots of traffic drives through

Great place to get out for a quick trip or trail trip for children. We had a few campsites next to each other between our groups which was great. The kids had a park they could play at, needs a lot of attention though. Seems after hour parties come here and don’t clean up. Big yard area in park to…

Lots of bugs

Love this little Campground at the end of the Hope highway. Great place for side trips. We went the last weekend of the season and the bugs were still pretty thick. Seriously the forest service has some pit toilet magic because what ever they do smells strangely pleasant. Which is worth noting.

Backcountry sites and road side

Follow the road to the North trail head. There are a number of campsites across the bridge, on the side of the road or in the parking lot. The restrooms are a single pit toilet in the parking lot at the trail head. If you are biking or hiking be sure to sign the book. This place gets buggy so bring…

Such a beautiful drive

This is a standard campground with large spots that should fit the biggest RV. There are some pull through spots as well. Bring bug dope or a screen shelter because the mosquitoes are big and hungry even late into the season.

Beautiful backdrop

Pretty private and a great location. Tons of opportunities for outdoor activities from hiking, biking, paddling, and ATV on specific days. Lots to love. Prepare for chilly weather any time of year because of the elevation

If you are looking for a central RV park this is the place

Right off the Highway this RV park is not bad.  Although I prefer my camping more rural.  If you are visiting and just want to start one way out of Anchorage this could be a choice for you.  With everything from cabins, to full RV hook ups, to dry RV camping, and lakeside tent spots this is a good…

About an hour from Anchorage

This is a small campground of only 12 spots that fill up during the peak season.  The camp host is down the highway at Granite Creek campground (which I also recommend) so if there are no spots head down the road a few miles.  Because this is a smaller campground there are less restrooms.    This…

Summit Lake need I say more

This is a really different campground.  Built on the side of a mountain it has some strange campsites.  Its close proximity to Summit Lake and lake access earned it 4 stars.  Really great place to take a kayak.  If it was not for the water aspect it would have only gotten a 3 star review.  Some of…
