    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV campgrounds are located within 30 miles of New Hope, Alabama, with Georgia Mountain RV Resort in Guntersville providing full hookups and accommodating large rigs on spacious sites. Redstone Arsenal RV Park offers military travelers 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on concrete pads without shade trees. One camper noted, "The pads here are huge and the utilities including 50 AMP worked well," though military ID is required for access. Little River RV Park & Campground in Fort Payne maintains 64 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical options, while Quail Creek RV Resort features pull-through RV pads on relatively level terrain.

Most parks in the region require advance reservations, particularly during fall foliage season when occupancy increases significantly. Cell service varies considerably throughout these mountainous areas, with reviewers reporting "ATT and Verizon signals weren't super strong but good enough to stream some TV and check email" at some locations. Sanitary dump stations are available at Georgia Mountain RV Resort, Redstone Arsenal, and Little River, though not all facilities offer on-site propane refills. Pets are permitted at virtually all area RV parks with varying restrictions. Navigation to certain locations may require careful planning, as some reviewers advise using specific gates when entering military facilities or avoiding GPS directions that might route large rigs through challenging mountain roads.

      Quail Creek RV Resort

      Quiet and Peaceful

The campground is tucked back off the freeway and is very quiet and peaceful. It provides you a level space with picnic tables, concrete pads and fire rings. You can buy firewood and they have a bath house and laundry. It has excellent WIFI. The campground is on a golf course and has an Inn right on the course. There is a great playground and dog area. There are some long term campers here but it is clean and everyone was very friendly. Be careful driving here the road is very narrow and no shoulders. We met a school bus on the road and ended up having to go into the pit next to the road to avoid the bus that was in our lane😳.
I would definitely recommend this campground for families or people who are full time RVers!

Valley Fort RV Park & Storage

      Newer Campground

We called ahead the day of arrival and got a reservation for an overnight stay. We received an email with information and bath/laundry code along with instructions to proceed directly to pull-through site 36 with full hookups. There are various ways from I-65 to get to this campground (CG); we came in on I-565E to Mooresville Rd which provided straightforward big-rig friendly access with no tight turns. Our gravel pull-through site was mostly level, and other sites, especially those on the upper level, also appeared level. The park appears newer with functional gravel sites, some with small concrete patio areas, though sites can be somewhat close together and there is little shade. There was no picnic table nor fire pit at our site, which was fine for an overnighter. Water pressure was decent and we got 2 bars on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile. Occupants were mainly full-timers and transient workers, but the park was quiet and decently maintained without appearing overly junky. A nice centrally located bathhouse and small but clean laundry facility are available. Highlights for us were the large fenced dog park, easy self-check-in process, convenient overnight layout for big rigs, and proximity to Buc-ee’s, making this a solid quick stop when traveling through the Athens area.

      StarStream Campground

      Decent Overnighter

This review was written as a short-stay versus destination campground. Our RV Life navigation and Waze took us off I-65 and about a mile to the campground, though both GPS units announced the destination as being on the right when the new campground entrance was actually on the left. Prior to arrival, we received an email directing us to go straight to back-in site B-1 with full hookups. With only 10 utility sites currently in service, maneuvering was easy, and the wide roadway along with the generous site opening made it simple to swing our 40-foot fifth wheel and F450 into position. The gravel pad was fairly level, as were the other sites, and utilities were centered and functioned well with water pressure around 60 psi. Sites were comfortably spaced, and our site included a nice paver patio with a picnic table. A convenient touch was trash pickup directly from the patio area. One of the owners, Joan, stopped by to make sure everything was satisfactory and mentioned additional parking areas at the front and back of the campground if needed, though we were able to park crosswise on our site without issue. There was currently no Wi-Fi, but the open layout with no obstructions made satellite connectivity easy. We had 3 bars on both Verizon and T-Mobile. The owners live in one of the cabins a few hundred yards from the campground, where a few dry camping sites are also located. There was no bathhouse or laundry facility at the time of our stay, though the owners indicated those amenities are planned. A nearby shooting range was active on the Sunday we visited, creating some daytime noise. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and would return.

Fairview Campground — Tims Ford State Park

      Camp by the Lake!

You can camp by the water at Tim’s Ford Lake. Some sites have full hook up’s up to 50 amp. Sewer hook up is not available at the water sites. We enjoy this campground. Great for kayaking and fishing. Family friendly.
35’ Fifth Wheel was a breeze at most sites, a couple sites may be tight.

      Boaz RV Park

Cheap rates, and a great location.

This is a small rv park located in Boaz Al, its just down the street from the Boaz police station so its nice and quiet. They don't have a lot of amenities like pools, or playgrounds but its great if you just need a cheap place to stay. As of this review its $20 a night for either a 30 or a 50 amp hookup along with water and sewer. The monthly rates are $400 for 30 amp sites and $500 for 50 amp sites.

Redstone Arsenal RV Park & Campground

      Nice Military FAMCAMP

The campground(CG) was easy to find for our mid-October stay. We exited off on 14A to gate 9 where we went through the gate and then did a u-turn to take us back down past the golf course to the CG. We had no problem doing the u-turn with our 40' fifth wheel. We followed the signage to the CG and then into pull-through site 21 with FHUs. There was no formal check-in, but our name and stay dates were on the site post. The pads here are huge and the utilities including 50 AMP worked well. We got 3 bars on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile along with a large selection of OTA channels. We could have used satellite as there are no trees near the RV sites. They have a nice fenced dog park plus a shower and laundry facility with 4 machines each costing$1. The WiFi worked well for a CG this size. Use Gate 8 near the commissary and BX versus 9. Gate 8 gives you an easier drive to the campground. Overall we enjoyed our overnight stay.

      Northgate RV Travel Park

      Northgate Camp Ground

This is a nice off the interstate travel park. Full hook ups. Pull through sights plenty long enough for our 40+ ft. motorhome with tow vehicle. Pull in at night out in the morning. Simple and not fancy. But fits the bill when needing a place with electricity and dump and fill water!

      Wills Creek RV Park

      Good Location

Quiet RV park close to Ft Payne and surrounding parks such as Desoto state Park. Close to Little River Canyon waterfall among others. (A must see). Sites at park very close together and our dually truck had to be parked sideways in front or back of site. One side of park is for long term stays while the other side is for up to two week stays. Other than that friendly check in and was able to have ups delivery. Available Sites are able to be chosen when get there.  Internet using Verizon (nomad) for work is only ok. My husband was able to work on conference calls ect but had one dropped call and while he was working I wasn’t able to use our internet. Evening hours when trying to stream sling was difficult to non existent the second week of our stay. Gave it 4 stars due to friendliness and ups delivery.

Fairview Campground — Tims Ford State Park

      Quiet and Picturesque

We stayed at site 40 with great view of lake. Site was very narrow (even for our pop up) but private as door side of camper opened to wooded area directly on lake. If neighboring campers backed in (vs pulling straight to camp with family on other side) they would have been kinda close. The site’s fire ring/grill and picnic table were down a bit from camper (not right outside door) but still on lake with beautiful view. Small Cell/WiFi tower was right next to site so got great reception (a must have since working remote). Bathhouse was very clean and being a shower snob, I was able to shower comfortably and didn’t get grossed out. We are planning to stay here again.

    Guide to New Hope

Recreational vehicle (RV) campers near New Hope, Alabama have several options within a 30-mile radius that accommodate different needs and preferences. The region sits along the southern edge of the Appalachian Mountains with elevations ranging from 600 to 1,600 feet. Summer temperatures typically reach 85-95°F with humidity levels often exceeding 70%, while winter nights can drop below freezing in December and January.

    What to do

Fishing access: 15-minute drive from Georgia Mountain RV Resort puts you close to Lake Guntersville. "Huntsville is only a 30 minute drive and there are many things to see and do there. If we come through the area again we would definitely stay here," notes a camper who appreciated the location's convenience.

Golfing: Adjacent course at Quail Creek RV Resort offers immediate recreation. "The campground is on a golf course and has an Inn right on the course," mentions one visitor who enjoyed the proximity of activities.

Waterfall exploration: Under 1 hour from camping areas. "Little River Canyon does not allow any camping and therefore you are limited to either here or going a little further north to Desoto State park," explains a camper staying at Little River RV Park, noting the best bases for accessing regional waterfalls.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathhouses at multiple parks. A visitor at Redstone Arsenal RV Park commented, "This is a fantastic campground featuring level pull through concrete pads that can accommodate any size RV. It is quiet location with a Great dog park."

Quiet atmosphere: Several parks offer peaceful settings. "The campground is tucked back off the freeway and is very quiet and peaceful. It provides you a level space with picnic tables, concrete pads and fire rings," shares one reviewer about their experience.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple water access points throughout the region. "This area is a fisherman's paradise with lake Guntersville and the Tennessee river a few miles down RT 69," explains a visitor at Georgia Mountain RV Resort.

    What you should know

Military ID required: Redstone Arsenal restricts access. "You must have access to military base to use. They have Laundry. Showers and bath. Full hook up. No trees for shade. Very hot," advises one military camper.

Cell service variability: Signal strength changes with terrain. According to a camper at Little River RV Park & Campground, many visitors noted inconsistent service, with one explaining they "got 3 bars on Verizon" at their location.

Road conditions: Some access roads require careful navigation. "Be careful driving here the road is very narrow and no shoulders. We met a school bus on the road and ended up having to go into the pit next to the road to avoid the bus that was in our lane," warns a Quail Creek RV Resort visitor.

    Tips for camping with families

Dog-friendly areas: Designated spaces for pets at most parks. "They have a nice fenced dog park plus a shower and laundry facility with 4 machines each costing $1," explains a visitor at Redstone Arsenal RV Park.

Playground access: Kid-friendly facilities at select locations. "There is a great playground and dog area," notes a camper at Quail Creek RV Resort, highlighting amenities suitable for families.

Swimming options: Seasonal pools at some locations. "They are adding another 70 sites in the back with a ton of new amenities!" shared an enthusiastic long-term guest at Georgia Mountain RV Resort.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Terrain varies across parks. A camper at Wills Creek RV Park explained, "The sights weren't particularly level, all gravel and the grass appeared hastily sown over unleveled soil with large clumps of clay and rocks present."

GPS routing: Alternative directions sometimes needed. "When we departed, heading back towards the interstate, you come to a stop sign. Our RV GPS and Waze wanted us to turn right on Mt. Zion Rd instead of going left as we did when we arrived. We took the right turn, and about the time the trailer swung, we saw the drop-off into the ditch," warned an RVer about navigation challenges.

Park layout consideration: Site placement affects convenience. "If you unhook and leave, you have a long, slightly curved road to back up on to get back in position to hook your rig up unless the site next to you is empty," advises a visitor about the practical layout at Northgate RV Travel Park.
