Best RV Parks & Resorts near Enterprise, AL

Several RV parks surround Enterprise, Alabama, offering a range of amenities for motorhome travelers. Military Park Fort Rucker Recreation Area Engineer Beach RV Park provides year-round camping with water and electric hookups, a dump station, and showers. Just east in Midland City, Kelly Creek RV Park features full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service, big-rig friendly spaces, and laundry facilities. Mr. D's RV Park in Ozark maintains 37 sites with full hookups and accommodates larger rigs with level sites. Wiregrass RV Park, also in Ozark, offers basic electric, water, and sewer connections in a convenient location. "The pull through site that we were assigned provided privacy as it was situated off to itself," noted one visitor about Engineer Beach, though they mentioned limited satellite reception due to tree coverage.

Cell service varies throughout the region's RV campgrounds, with most parks reporting adequate Verizon coverage. Many RV sites feature concrete pads, though some have gravel surfaces that may require leveling blocks. Dothan RV Park, about 30 miles southeast of Enterprise, maintains full hookup sites with 50 amp service and receives high ratings for cleanliness. Pet-friendly policies are standard at most area RV parks, with some offering designated dog areas. Seasonal considerations are minimal as most parks operate year-round, though summer humidity can be significant. Propane refill services are limited, with the Ozark-Fort Rucker KOA being one of the few locations offering on-site propane. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Mr. D's RV Park notably lacks this amenity, requiring guests to use full hookup connections.

Point A Park RV & Campground

    Peaceful and Clean

Point A Campground Andalusia, Alabama This is a nice campground with very nice camp hosts and clean bath houses. We did not notice any long term campers. We had full hookups, wifi, cable, a fire pit, and a nice concrete picnic table on a partially gravel and red dirt and partial asphalt unlevel site. Our site was $40 a night without any added fees. They only accept cash and check. No deposit was required!! We had a water view, but plenty are on the water. We had shade. They have several large pull through sites without a sewer. A lot of the other campers had their boats and trailers and it looked like they were enjoying fishing and tubing on the lake. Plenty of children were swimming in the water at the end of the pier. The campground is pet friendly. Andalusia is a quaint, small town that is a little over an hour north of the Florida Panhandle. We enjoyed the 4th of July parade and they have several good restaurants.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Falling Waters & Quietness

Camp sites have been renovated, all new gravel with railroad ties for retaining wall for the gravel.  Sites are all 50/30 amp with water.  Most of the sites are under shade.  It is a small campground with only 20 spots and some are tight if you have a big rig, but there are pull throughs for the big rigs.

    Staff was friendly and helpful.

Shower facilities were clean - at least mens.

I'd give it a 5 start but the dump station does not have the hose hookups for flushing your tanks, just draining.  So be sure to fill up your gray tank to wash down he black excretions.

I'll return because it was enjoyable area.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Tallest waterfall in florida.

Not a very big state park but it was very quiet and relaxing. Only about 20 sites total with a very nice restrooms and showers. There was also a spot to wash dishes. Alot of trees so plenty of shade. There are pull through and back in sites. Tent camping all the way up to class A. Water and electric but no sewer at site. There is a dump station. The falls and the lake were nice but depend on rainfall. We have been in a little drought so it was a trickle. There are fish in the lake but do not like to be caught. Swimming area at the lake as well. Some trails but not a bunch. Would definitely come back.

    Deer Run RV Park

    Nice quiet RV park

Perfect place to stay for short or long term. Close to town but just far enough away to have peace and quiet. Had fishing ponds, waking trial, bath/laundry house and pool. We stayed a month with plenty of space.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Nice Quiet Stay

Falling Waters is a convenient stop, close to the interstate and easy to access. The campground is gated with an access code for after-hours entry, which made us feel secure. Sites are level gravel with a picnic table, fire ring, and even a handy towel-drying rack. They’re spaced nicely, not too close to neighbors, which we appreciated.

The bathhouse facilities were clean and well-kept (we didn’t use the laundry facilities), and there’s a dump station since none of the sites have full sewer hookups. Cell service with T-Mobile was excellent.

The park itself has a small but nice swimming area at the ‘lake’ with its own restroom house. Unfortunately, there hadn’t been any rain during our visit, so the falls were dry, but the trails were still worth walking. We brought our e-bikes, but aside from riding around the campground and down to the lake and trailhead, there really aren’t bike-friendly paths—definitely wouldn’t recommend taking bikes on the trails.

Oh, and the play ground was very nice and the covered pavilions were nice.

We checked in after hours without any issue, but Joey came knocking at 8 AM sharp the next morning like the police 🚨 to give us our parking pass—definitely a wake-up call we weren’t expecting!

The nightly rate was advertised at $18, but after fees it came to around $30 per night, which still isn’t bad for what you get. Overall, it’s a peaceful, clean campground with good amenities and a nice location, just don’t expect to be able to ride bikes on the trails or always see water at the falls.

Highly recommend the 45-minute drive to Econfina creek, we rented a canoe and did the 8-miles to see 7 springs.

    Frank Jackson State Park Campground

Small, Alabama State Park, in Opp

Arrived at guard gate and was welcomed by friendly staff. Quiet campground with waterfront site 8. Plenty of space between sites. FHU, level gravel, waterfront site with picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Felt safe, and across the street from bathrooms/laundry. Dated but clean. Woman’s bathroom with showers & bathroom stalls. 2 washers & dryers, as well as a folding table. No dog park, but plenty of nature, paved roads for walking, as well as easy to find, marked trails. 10 minutes to town, with restaurants and a few stores to pick up groceries & necessities. Playground is on the other side of the trails, as well as the boat ramp. Lots of wildlife. Would stay here again!

Guide to Enterprise

RV sites near Enterprise, Alabama offer diverse camping options within an agricultural region known for peanut production and military aviation. Campsites range from lakeside locations to rural settings with varying levels of amenities. Weather conditions remain mild through winter months with camping comfortable year-round, though summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity.

What to do

Boating at Gantt Lake: Access boat docks near Gantt Lake RV Park for fishing and water activities. "The sunsets are amazing. It is very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our 2 weeks stay and made reservations for a couple months for this summer," shares Mary W. about her experience at Gantt Lake RV Park.

Military aviation observation: Watch training flights from nearby Fort Rucker sites. "I definitely recommend this campground as long as you don't mind the helicopters going over at all hours of the day and night," notes Samantha F. about Engineer Beach campground, which provides a unique aviation viewing experience.

Hiking nearby trails: Explore multiple trail systems around Dothan. "Half dozen trail heads in the area. I hiked 3 well kept paths. Forever Wild is mostly a cross country biker park, with 6 or 7 or more different runs," mentions Rob D. from his stay at A-Okay RV Park.

What campers like

Quiet, natural settings: Many campgrounds offer peaceful environments away from highway noise. "This military RV campground was very nice. The pull through site that we were assigned provided privacy as it was situated off to itself," reports a camper at Engineer Beach.

Spacious sites at Kelly Creek: Visitors appreciate the generous spacing between camping spots. "Sites are very big and there was lots of space. We took the dogs for a walk down along the creek, through some nice woods and a meadow, it was a nice walk," writes a reviewer about Kelly Creek RV Park.

Clean facilities: Several campgrounds maintain well-kept amenities. "Park is clean and growing. Pull thru sites and back-ins with level pads. Sites are a little tight. All sites have FHU," notes Mike H. about Dothan RV Park.

What you should know

Limited entertainment options: Most campgrounds focus on basic amenities rather than activities. "Bring groceries and ice as there is no campstore. Dollar General is next door but they are out of ice. Walmart is less than a mile with plenty of dining options within a minute or two," advises Wendy T. about Dothan RV Park.

Tree coverage affects satellite reception: Mature trees at some campgrounds can interfere with technology. "However because of the vast amount of trees we were unable to use the satellite and WiFi was not available, but the Rec room had plenty of books," mentions a reviewer about their stay.

Varying quality across campgrounds: Facilities range from basic to well-appointed. "This review is from an overnight point of view versus a destination campground. This was a newer campground and a work in progress. Our site was fairly level and the utilities were to the rear," notes MickandKarla W. about Rosemont RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation options for children: Some campgrounds offer playground equipment. "There is a small park with a swing set, teeter totter, and basketball hoop. There is also a boat dock which is convenient for accessing Lake Thollocco," explains Samantha F. about Engineer Beach.

Consider noise levels: Some locations have unique sound characteristics. Helicopter noise from Fort Rucker affects camping experiences at nearby RV sites, with training flights operating throughout the day and sometimes at night.

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds feature fishing ponds or lake access. "They even have a catch and release pond," mentions a reviewer about Kelly Creek RV Park, providing a family-friendly activity without leaving the campground.

Tips from RVers

Propane pricing: Seek out campgrounds with competitive refill services. "If you ever find yourself here for even a night, be sure to top off your propane. The lowest price I've seen for FULL tanks," advises Rob D. about A-Okay RV Park.

Seasonal considerations: The region hosts special events that affect campground availability. "Stayed for 2 nights during the Peanut Festival. Not a lot of amenities, but full hookup. Was placed at the entrance to the park, so lots of traffic from all of the live ins," notes Joe O.

Concrete pad availability: Some campgrounds have upgraded their parking surfaces. "All sites have been upgraded to level concrete with full hookups," reports a visitor about Dothan RV Park, making leveling easier for larger rigs.
