This campground is located outside of Fritch at the end of Lakeview Drive off Hwy. 136. The area features both designated sites and open meadow camping. Harbor Bay also features two new trails, which are the Harbor Bay and South Turkey Creek Trails. Picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills are available. No drinking water or flush toilets; vault-evaporator toilets. A beautiful area for water activities, hiking, biking, and birding.

When we drove up it was unclear where to inquire for a spot. No one stays in office. It's on the honor system. Drop a envelope with payment on slot on office door and pick a spot. It was clean and quiet. Nice spot to park overnight while traveling.

Traveling from KY to AZ. 36 foot fifth wheel, tow vehicle and second car. Stopped here for 2 nights. Site 85. 50/30/20A and water. No sewer, but 2 dump stations in park. After backing in (very easy) realized it can be used as a pull through entering in front of site 87. Very roomy site. Covered picnic table and fire ring/grill. Didn't use restrooms or showers, but they were clean. Most of site is red dirt, but parked on asphalt and picnic table is on concrete pad. Close to level. If you've never been here, the Mesquite camp area is like 5 or 6 miles past the park entrance gate. Steep grade into canyon and curvy road. Now for the experience. Although some would complain about some things in this park we were able to overlook any problems (we had none anyway) because it was so beautiful. This is the nicest park we've been to in several years. Great scenery, trails everywhere and wildlife. We saw mule deer, roadrunners, rabbits, turkey, lizards, huge centipede, longhorns and lots of birds. Sat at bird viewing station behind the tradepost for a while and saw many different birds. It was hot during the day and cool at night in September. Would definitely stay again. If ess are listed they will include fees for 3 vehicles.
GuideNice overnight stop for the price. There were longhorn cows and llamas that came up to the fence in the back of the park. Close to town yet in the country. Full-time residents there but are quiet.

We are traveling through from CO to AR and needed a place to stay for one night. We found Plum Creek and decided to check it out. The middle campground was perfect - we were the only ones there. Very clean vault toilet right by the site, trash cans clean and empty at camp. There were open range cattle nearby but they were just curious and didn't bother us. We loved our stay and will keep this in mind for future trips passing through. Beautiful sunset views too!

A parking lot with 20 electric hook-up sites in a municipal setting. There's a dog park, a playground for kids or a picnic. Dump station and water available plus several dumpsters.
The only downside is the trains that run all hours and blow horns as they pass the intersection right outside the park.
We were in a camper van and would stay there again.

About 5 miles into the canyon past the entrance. I arrived after check-in hours and they had my packet waiting for me at the entrance. It was about 105 when I got in at 5pm in July (to be expected), but cooled down some overnight with a bit of rain. Great access to the Juniper trail with the cave— definitely worth checking out. Saw a baby scorpion in the bathroom sink, but pretty clean bathroom facilities. Biggest downside besides the heat was the relentless biting flies.

We always stop in Amarillo when we travel from the DFW area to visit our son in Colorado. We've tried just about all of the Campgrounds/RV Resorts in Amarillo. Since Amarillo is basically just a resting place and there's not really any other perks, we just want a safe, quiet place to park over night. I couldn't find much as far as reviews online(it's relatively new), so we were a little leery about booking an overnight stay.
However, I'm glad we did and I would 100% stay again. Booking was easy. Check-in was easy. It was super convenient to not have to unhook, and to walk over to Love's to grab a quick pizza for supper. There was a nice little dog park. There was a corn hole game and a covered picnic table. The RV area is separate from the fueling area and truck area. We never heard any highway noise or parking lot noise over night in our RV(A/C was running...it would probably not be as quiet if you were to have your windows open).
Our site was pull through. It had water and electric. It was very level and easy to get into and out of. I do wish that their price was a little lower. On our return trip, we stayed down the road at Oasis, and only paid a few dollars more, but had access to a swimming pool, game room, laundry room, etc. But it's a good option, and I would stay again.
ScoutAmarillo is a nice halfway point when traveling to Colorado from the DFW area. Over the years, we've stayed at various RV Resorts/Campgrounds there. Oasis is comparably priced to the others, but being on the outskirts of Amarillo, it was much quieter and we felt safer.
They have a beautiful swimming pool. There is a clubhouse that had a video game and a basketball game for the kids. There were puzzles, books, a kitchen area. It was very nice, quiet, roomy. They did have a hot tub, but at the time we were there, it was not in working order.
They have a good sized, fenced dog park. There are dog waste bags and receptacles pretty much at the end of every street. The streets in the RV Resort are named so finding our campsite was very easy. The bathrooms were plentiful throughout the Resort. Each contained a private shower.
We only stopped for a quick overnight to break up our drive home from Colorado. We didn't have to unhook. The sites were pretty level. We stayed in site 41. It worked fine for us, but I probably wouldn't choose that particular site again. It is right next to the restroom/laundry facility(which was very convenient), but our slide was on that side. Had it been busy, we would have heard bathroom traffic all night. But there are so many restrooms, this was not an issue. Also, the placement of the sewer hook up was out of reach. We just pulled up and dumped when we left.
There was a food truck there when we arrived, which was convenient. We bought our supper from there and it was nice not having to cook, or unhook to go somewhere to eat. That being said, the food from the truck was nothing to write home about. But they were friendly.

GuideWe spent 3 nights in the Mesquite Camping loop. Our site included 30/50amp electric service and water connection. Dump station available on the main road out of the park. The weather was perfect. We arrived after a cold front pushed thru. The days were cool and sunny. Perfect for trail hikes and bike rides. Night skies were clear for star gazing. There is a steep 10% grade down from park HQ to the campgrounds. Roads are in good shape. Campsites are spacious. Ours was plenty long enough for our 35ft rv and truck. We saw several big 5th wheels in the same loop. TMobile 5G service was strong. No WiFi available. Bath house nearby with endless hot water to clean up from the dusty trail hikes.

Clean level concrete pads. The trash was overflowing. No bathroom or shower included. Would be a bargain if it was half the price. You can hear the sounds of the freeway. Clean safe place to stay. The pizza at Loves was great.

Positives: Beautiful site and large! We were on the outer loop and had awesome views of the canyon walls Wildlife at camp - saw roadrunner and heard coyotes at night (eerie but also magical)! Staff were amazing! We came in after the entrance station closed and they had a packet with our name on it waiting for us with maps and more in it!
Downfalls: Only port-a potties If you were on the inner part of the loop you might not have as great of a view looking at other sites instead… Lots of bugs
Overall this would’ve been the PERFECT camp site minus the few downfalls. We would 1000% come back again!

We were in site #12. We had Full hook- up with a gravel pull-through. We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.
The site was easy to level.
Our site was not shaded with limited trees. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors very close.
The lot does not have a concrete patio or fire ring but has a picnic table.
It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(approximately 1 mile from highway).
There is free WiFi. They do not offer Cable TV but there are many channels.
They do not sell wood since fire burning is not permitted (only charcoal).
They do not provide garbage service at your site so you must walk to garbage dumpster (located through out the park).
You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground.
They do have a heated Swimming pool.
There is a Playground. There are not any additional play areas like Bocce ball, shuffleboard, basketball sport court, or volleyball courts.
They have a great general store. They sell limited food & alcohol as well.
The streets are gravel so not great for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.
They have cabins for rent and tent areas.
They have 2 shower houses. The shower house has the typical stalls. These are kept very clean.
There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine. There are approximately 6 washers and 3 large dryers. It is approximately $2 to wash and approximately $2 to dry a load.
They have two side-by-side fenced in dog parks.
There were no trails to hike in the campground.
Some fun things to do outside of the campground are Cadillac Ranch, Palo Duro Canyon state park (a must do - also stop at the Sad Monkey Mercantile for wine, beer, pizza) and Route 66 Motor Speedway (quite entertaining). The Texan Steak Ranch was delicious and a fun experience (reservations can be made on OpenTable). Also visit the Paramount Social Club (a speakeasy). This is located in the basement of the Barfield Hotel (pull the lever on the cigarette machine to access the secret door).
GuideI grew up in Dallas and am sad to say that I didn't know about Palo Duro. The canyon sneaks up on you, literally. There's no foreshadowing until you turn onto the canyon road and then it appears if out of nowhere...majestic, serene, simply breathtaking.
Facilities are excellent and fellow campers, polite. The park has an excellent gift shop with quality silver and native art. I can't wait for my next visit.

What an incredible entrance! We unhooked our toad before heading into the canyon, and I'm glad we did. The drive was stunning, especially for us Floridians not used to such drops. Our site was beautifully wooded, though cell service was minimal down in the canyon love tester online. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the Texas panhandle.

Funny thing tought it was very hot the day we arravied ,the next morning I dressed up in my normal camping shorts and sandals and hoodie early in the morning , the temperatures was dropped a lot true the night and i got out of the RV with my coffee in my hand and tought I was going to sit outside in my chair and enjoy it . I backed inside rapid and got leggings and boots on ,then I could enjoy the view of the sun raise.
