    Robidoux RV Park

Green grass and space just outside Gering

We stayed at Robidoux RV Park for one night in a pull through full hook up spot. It had a concrete pad with a patio and picnic table. All sites are 30 and 50 Amp and our pull through was long enough to stay connected. This is a City of Gering RV Park and and with our Good Sam discount and tax, ended up being $29.00 per night. You can make reservations, or if there is space you may just show up and pick your spot. Our site and all of the park have lots of grass and open spaces with great views of the Scotts Bluff National Monument.

The bathhouse was very clean. The park had a laundry, playground and basketball court. There is wifi but we used our AT&T hotspot instead. This would be a great place to stay longer and check out the area.

    A one night stopover

This is a small RV Park, cash only $20/night.

There is a drop box and a stack of envelopes for payment in the office, if no one is there.

It has level, pull through sites with water, electric and sewer. The shower/bathroom is connected to the office and was clean with plenty of hot water. There are a lot of permanent or long term residents.

it is right off I-80 next to the shrine of Our Lady if Peace, the 50’ status of the Virgin Mary visible from the interstate.

Location and Staff are Redeeming Qualities Here

We stayed at this campground in late fall. There are very few campgrounds available in this area after the summer ends, so selection was limited. Reservations are made via phone or submitted online form. Although the staff was very attentive, from the confirmation phone call to the registration, we were a bit put off that the sites were very open and close together. In addition, when the employee called to ask about what we needed for our reservation, she implied full hook up, including cable in our mind. When we arrived we discovered there were very few sites that had cable available, and so our sons were disappointed that they would not be spoiled for the weekend (they don't get cable TV at home!). This RV park appears to be owned by the city of Gering, NE.

The view of Scotts Bluff National Monument from the campground is beautiful, especially in the evening. I enjoyed watching the sun go down and hit the bluffs with that perfect golden glow (so much better than cable TV, right?), but was also put off that there were no fire rings, so we could not have a campfire at our site either. They do have raised grills for charcoal (or maybe small wood) and each site has a picnic table.

On the plus side, there is a playground attached to the property that has updated equipment that our sons enjoyed.

    Adorable hidden campground

We had an A/C issue once we reached Wyoming and had to wait for a part. While waiting for it to arrive from Denver, we found a cute little RV park in Cheyenne, WY called AB Camping. It is a family-run, Christian campground and they served dinner until 8 pm. Who could resist some cowboy BBQ from the Wild West? The sites were full hook-ups, with free cable and wi-fi. There had nice restrooms with showers and a laundry facility. Most sites were shaded and the place was very neat and friendly. They also had a tent area and large pavilion. The boys ran around and played in the park almost until dark and then everyone had showers and settled in for a good night's sleep.Temperatures dipped down to around 50 degrees as we slept that night. The next morning, we weren't in a big hurry to go anywhere since the thermostat wasn't due in until around 1 pm via UPS. Jason caught up on some laundry and then we found a skate park in town to burn some more time. It was the nicest one I have ever seen and in a public park of all places. Glad to have found this little oasis to relax for a bit.

    Lots to do here

RV park has level gravel lots with full hookups. Right off interstate on Exit 2, as you enter WY. Camp store has good supply of drinks, clothes and souvenirs. Cafe was closed but did look good. Ate at Senators Steakhouse and had buffet, including beef prime rib, bison ribs and bison burgers. Wednesday night they had open lic with live music. Bar had good selections of alcohol including some expensive wines. Great service.

Better Value for RV's Available Nearby

I was charged $50 for this below average electric only hookup for my truck camper. There is a county RV park about two miles away that has full hookups with a bath house and nice spacing for less money. There is an area on their corn farm where they added some gravel and three 50 amp connections. Apparently, they offer boondocking on the prairie above the farm, but I was not offered that. They did a mediocre job of preparing the sites and they are just not very attractive. See photos. Their website says they can accommodate a big rig, but I would not drive one into such a tight space. Lisa the host was very gracious and accommodating but I would not return because of the lack of value in their pricing.

    Quick Overnight Stop

The entrance to the campground was a little tight for 35’ fifth wheel. If you come in from the West prepare for wide turn. RV spaces were a little tight. That night as we were laying in bed we could hear our neighbors outside their trailer planning their next stop. You can see from the attached photo how close they were. RV spot with veteran discount was $50 - a little spendy for what you get. Bathrooms were clean, coin op laundry and good WiFi. Little BBQ restaurant on site. We arrived at 7pm and they close at 8pm so they were sold out of many items on menu. Prices were OK but side portions were small.

    Great BBQ

Funny way to title a campground review but it was the best part.

Our full hook up spot was super narrow with a large cottonwood that looked like it had been banged into a couple times by other RV’s. Dead branches hung down so we couldn’t use our awning and one scrapped the roof. Site G18

Our neighbors pulled in so their door was facing us. Which seems contrary to most camp grounds.. We’ve only experienced this in one other campground. A little uncomfortable when you walk out your door and your neighbors are right there at your picnic table. Luckily this was a one nighter.

I believe this campground could be spruced up and be a very nice campground especially at $50 a pop for a full hook up spot!

Yes the barbecue joint and the campground are run and or owned by the same people. My husband raved about the barbecue, it was pretty good. It appeared that lots of people from the campground we’re getting ribs and pulled pork and brisket.

We didn’t use the facilities but our close by neighbors stated that the showers were very nice.

I believe there are numerous better sites than the one we stayed in.

    Nice place!

We stayed for one quick night. The hosts were gracious. We had to make our reservation same day because of some delays. They were very accommodating and didn’t gouge us! Everything was clean and in working order. Very organized. Full hook ups on almost every site. Decent WIFI, even cable hook ups. Pet friendly with a small off leash dog run. Pretty quiet. Even though it was almost full. They also have a BBQ restaurant that smelled amazing. Wish we had time to eat! FYI- Google tries to take you in the exit. So go in where the BBQ sign is! We will come back!

    Words truly can’t describe

The positive comment, the staff is friendly. Someone helped back our RV into our spot, but they have to because the spots are soooo tiny and wedged between residential motor homes. The place looks more like a junk yard or an RV used sales lot, which it is! The dog park is the size of a postage stamp, but at least they have one. We needed a place to stay and it sufficed, but this is not an RV “park” in any sense of the word.

    Well maintained & Gorgeous Views

We enjoyed a quick weekend trip to the Scotts Bluff National Monument and Wildcat Hills this weekend. We stayed at The Robidoux RV Park in Gering, NE. The RV Park is owned and maintained by the city of Gering. It was located next to the Five Rocks Amphitheater and had a shared green space with a nice playground for children. There was a little basketball court and an additional large green space in the center of the grounds. Almost all the lots are paved and pull-throughs. It was a nice little RV Park. The only drawback was no open fires; so no s’mores on this trip. My youngest little girl decided to “catch” all the trash cans (dumpsters) and counted 5 within the park - hence the slightly strange picture of a delighted child in front of a dumpster 🤪

    Great Stop Over

Nice little spot to stop and take a breather. Spaces are a tad bit narrow for big slide outs but long enough to stay hooked up. Good Sam site and saved a little cash! 4 stars only because of being narrow. Onsite staff was great to talk with!

    Kitschy dude ranch

We pulled in during “Frontier Days”. The Dead Heads were playing a concert so it was WILD. The rv spots are pretty close together, but the day after the concert (Tuesday) it cleaned up FAST. There was basically no one here after.

You can pet bison, which is worth it. The rest of the prices are geared towards kids. Sorta run down for the prices you pay.

Definitely a ONE night stay sort of place.

    More KOA than Dude Ranch.

Spot 66 was a straight mud pit.

    Would recommend a “deluxe” spot.

RUNNN…. IF YOURE ANY OTHER RACE THAN WHITE RUN… FOR THE LOVE OF GOD RUN

Since being at this park there has been issue after issue.

This is a crappy RV Park with run down campers , and trashed areas. The front office makes this place worst. They have daily attitudes and will make up rules and say you are out of compliance even though those rules are not documented on any piece of paper signed. Nor does the piece of paper we have signed state that the rules are subject to changes at their discretion.

They do this to kick people out!!

We have no trash around our RV, we have Kept everything nice and neat and we do not have an older model RV but because we have a tarp on the top due to a leak we were told to remove it or leave.

Mind you having a tarp is not a rule on the papers we signed and were provided. Nor does the paper we sign say that the rules are subject to change at their discretion at any time.

There are RV with trash and misc item scattered all throughout their small lawn area but the front office haven’t said a word to them about that.

There are RV that have their windows open and they are PACKED FULL of junk and trash that you can clearly see. But to them that is not an issue. A tarp is.

    Clean with a great view

We stopped for a night.  It is a standard RV type park operated by the city.  It was very clean and well maintained.  The price was reasonable and we had a nice view of Scotts

Bluff.  With full hookups which we needed as it was warm and we wanted to run the AC.  The park staff was friendly at check in.

One nice thing was the sites are plenty big.  We didn't feel like we were right on top of each other.  Excellent cell coverage.  We would stay again.

    Great Location

We stayed 2 nights at this campground. It was easy to get into with our big 5th wheel rig. There were a few paved level sites that were long enough. However they were not available when we booked a couple weeks ahead, so we were in the overflow section - Site 49. It was not at all level, and we had to rehitch and angle it because it couldn’t auto-level on such a steep site. But other than that it was a nice clean campground with sites not too close together.

    Very loud

We knew there was an Air Force Base nearby but we did not know that military helicopters would be making low passes over the campground at 10 PM. Sites also not very level. Unlike other KOA’s that we’ve stayed at that offer welcome cookies or free coffee, this KOA charges one dollar for a simple cup of Keurig coffee. No fire rings either.

We were here in mid April and there was one other RV there. The campground allows views in all directions, that seem to go on for a hundred miles. Located in northeast Colorado, it is a nice “stop-off” for the road-weary traveller. Water, showers, flush toilets and power hook-ups are provided.

    This place was perfect!

This place was an unexpected treasure. There is open parking at the picnic tables so you can face any direction you want. Extremely private and spacious. Very clean and safe place with welcoming hosts. I wanted a place to relax for a few days after some heavy traveling and this fit the bill. I am a Solo Traveler with a small friendly dog and this was a safe place for us. Owners have a friendly dog which came by to visit and gave my dog some company. This is open pasture land for dispersed camping however there is a shower available plus water in a Community Kitchen. I enjoyed the freedom of open parking and found it very easy to level my motorhome. I especially like the professionalism of the owners who emailed me once I booked their facility . Would definitely stay here again because it was so peaceful, relaxing, and safe.

It’s okay… for vanlife and smaller fifth wheels

Site is $11.25/night. No water or service hookups. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. Bathrooms are plenty close to all sites.

Campground is located on a the four way intersection stop sign of hwy 14 and hwy 392, Briggsdale, CO. There is too much road noise to sleep in a tent.

Careful with large RV as some of the tree branches are very low.

We stayed in the last tent site in the back of the property. It was close to the showers, restrooms, and laundry room. This was very quiet and peaceful. The RVs didn't run the generators so it was great! The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. We went to the BBQ restaurant in the front of the building and had the best BBQ in Wyoming!

    Pawnee Buttes - Dispersed Camping

    Dispersed Camping

The camping spots along Pawnee Butte Trailhead Road are absolutely perfect. They have wonderful views of the grasslands and the buttes. The biggest downside is there are a lot of giant windmills, oil pumps, and fracking operations in the area. Very difficult to ignore them as no matter where you look you’ll see something along the horizon.

In the spot I camped in, I had two bars of Verizon LTE service. But when I drove a half mile down to the trail head I only had 3G. So reception will be spotty.

There are no hook ups of any kind, anywhere. This is truly dispersed camping. The dirt road leading into the area was in fair condition. There were a couple of spots with very deep ruts that made pulling my 22 foot travel trailer slightly challenging. I can’t imagine anybody bringing something like 28 feet or greater into the area.

There were a ton of cows in the area, even walking right up into our campsite. Totally didn’t bother us though, in fact it was kind of fun. They were completely gentle and nonthreatening.

There is minimal hiking in the area. There was one trail that led into the buttes. But between May 1 and June 30 you cannot continue into the buttes. It’s closed to preserve wildlife.

GPS of spot I was in: 40.812312, -103.999513

If I go back, I’ll try a different area.
