What to do
Hiking trails with wildlife viewing: The campground at Riverside State Park connects to extensive trail systems with opportunities to spot local wildlife. "There is a nice cement slab just in the water so it makes a safe place for kids. There are lots of hiking trails and wildlife viewing. The swinging bridge is awesome," shares Arica C. about the park's natural features.
Outdoor recreation year-round: Northern Quest RV Resort provides a convenient base for regional activities. "We would stay here again if in the area. If you purchase wood they deliver to your site," notes Debbie S., highlighting the service-oriented atmosphere that makes outdoor exploration easier.
Visit the lake beach area: Liberty Lake has water recreation options a short distance from camping areas. "The campground is close to the water and lots of picnic areas. We enjoyed the beauty of the Spokane River, walking across the suspension bridge and hiking the trails," writes Lisa K., describing the water access points near camping areas.
What campers like
Spacious campsites: Campers appreciate the well-designed sites at Liberty Lake. "It was a very great experience camping here the spots are very spacious and fairly quiet and clean. I enjoyed staying here will definitely be coming back to stay again," reports Garrett Alexander F.
Clean facilities: Camp Coeur D'Alene receives high marks for its cleanliness. "This campground was super cozy and safe. They had firewood for sale, a pool, and clean showers and bathrooms. We had a very comfortable stay and were able to connect to the wifi at our tent site," writes Sienna V.
Family-friendly amenities: Riverside State Park offers amenities that appeal to families with children. "This is a larger campground great for RV, trailers and tents. The sites are enclosed in a circle, making a nice walk or bike ride. The campground has partial hook ups and is very camper friendly otherwise," explains Mary C.
What you should know
Train noise at some locations: Spokane KOA Journey campers should be prepared for train sounds. "A nice campsite close to Spokane and Idaho. Friendly staff and clean. I really like this spot, but the noise from the trains is loud. Be sure to bring earplugs if you are tent camping," advises Cinco D.
Reservation requirements: During peak seasons, campsites fill quickly. "We were lucky enough to land the island campground which made the whole experience amazing! This place has great amenities (free canoes, hot showers, flush toilets, free firewood) which made it the nicest campground I had been to for awhile," notes Jared about securing special sites.
Site privacy varies: Some campgrounds offer more seclusion than others. "I stayed in the tent part of the campground, and the sites (especially the first few) are awfully close. This is a great campground for camping with friends but I don't recommend it for a quiet getaway," explains Annika W. about site proximity.
