    Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

    Tucannon River RV Park

    Peaceful

Beautifully maintained campground with friendly camp hosts. Affordable, large pull through sites. Large shade trees in several sites. Some of the most level sites we’ve stayed in. Community fire pit or bring your own to have in your site. Nice bathrooms with showers ($1 in quarters for 7 minutes). Plenty of grass area for kids to play in. Pets welcome. Close to Tucannon and Snake Rivers. Open year round.

    Liberty Lake Regional Park

    Quiet park close to Spokane

We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane. The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it’s a great little campground. Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level. They are close together! They provide a fire pit if you want one. Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill. There is a clean shower/bathroom building and a beach within walking distance of the campground. While we were there the campground hosts did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks. We were there over July 4th weekend and they had a fireworks display on the beach.

    Spokane County Fairgrounds

    Enjoyable Stay

We followed the map from the post confirmation email we received from the Fairgrounds that included the gate code as well. We realized we hadn't recieved the email with the gate code, so about an hour out, we emailed to ask about the gate code. We got an immediate reply, which was nice. Once we got in the campground (CG) area, we had the choice of the closely spaced pull throughs A-1 through A-8 or the B back-in area that consists of 35 sites spread out over several rows. We decided on site B-29 with water and electric(50/30/20) that had one of the two nice-sized picnic tables in the CG plus two trees for some shade. Since the back-in sites are in a large grass/dirt field, you can pull around and make them pull throughs. You have to figure out how you are going to angle in the sites and hook up to the water and electric, as the utilties for each site aren't exactly intuitive. The power worked well and we got about 50 psi on the water. We got 4 bars on Verizon and since there are not a lot of trees, a clear shot for Starlink. This CG is bare bones, but we enjoyed that there were only about four campers while we were there on a Friday- Monday in July. There are plenty of little dumpsters and a dump station up near the north part/entrance. There’s a restroom building towards the CG entrance but it’s just a men’s and women’s two stall bathroom. There’s no shower facility in the CG. We enjoyed our three day stay.

    Hells Canyon Resort

    Right on the river

Campground right on the river and surrounded by businesses but no noise issues.

Pull through site was paved and level. You do need a water pressure regulator. Office does suggest the route to take for easier pull in. Some of the long term campers have multiple cars and large add-ons, so was tricky getting out.

Showers were nice and plenty of room. Sign on indoor pool stated it was closed.

Check in was easy, they do offer food items for sale but the beverage coolers were pretty sparse.

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

Quiet, Clean, well maintained RV Campground

This is an all paved rv campground on the Snake River and bordering Lewiston, ID. It has all the amenities of the Premier RV Resort affiliation. It has all the hook-ups and all sites are well manicured. A lot of the sites have longer term rv's from seasonal workers and such, it is not like a long term trailer park though. The management works to make sure your needs are taken care of. There is a paved walking trail alongside the park that follows the river with pet statiions located at intervals and is maitained by the municipality. There are Snake river boat tours nearby and plenty of shopping close and throughout the community. Fishing is a big activity on the rivers.

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

    Nice Weekend Stay

Very friendly staff that keeps the facilities clean. Full hookups with lots of pull through spaces if needed. We fully utilized the bike path along the river each day for nice long rides into Idaho and back to Washington. Would stay again.

One camper observed the spacing is practical, stating sites "are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry with hitting your neighbor with your awning or having to play Tetris with your slides."

What you should know

Seasonal operation: Many campgrounds in the region have limited operating seasons due to harsh winters. Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake operates "February 1 to November 30," while Pullman RV Park runs from "April 1 to November 30." Call ahead during shoulder seasons to confirm availability.

Train proximity: Railroad tracks run near several camping areas, though noise impact varies. At Palouse RV Park, a camper noted "There are train tracks very very close, but it was not disruptive surprisingly for the time we were there."

Reservation requirements: Booking ahead is essential during university events in Pullman and Moscow. At Latah County Fairgrounds, availability becomes limited as one reviewer mentioned it's "Only worth it if you're in town for an event." During peak times, campgrounds can fill completely.

Pet policies vary: Some rv parks near Steptoe have strict pet regulations. One camper at Peaceful Pines reported, "I've never been so harassed before by a campground for having a pet. Definitely not pet friendly. There is literally one tree they make you stay at and you can't walk the campground with your dog."

Tips for camping with families

Budget considerations: Additional fees for children apply at some locations. They will charge an additional 3 dollars per head and 5 dollars for an additional car."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: When staying at Liberty Lake RV Campground, outside loop sites provide more space. "An outside loop 50 ft. site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount," advises one RVer. Back-in sites along the perimeter often offer more privacy than pull-through options.

Cell coverage: Connectivity remains strong throughout most rv parks near Steptoe, Washington. At Liberty Lake, "AT&T service is great" and "Wifi is useable for basic internet use." Another camper at Premier RV Resort confirmed "Good cell service and WiFi too!"

Utility considerations: Winter camping requires special attention to water connections. Liberty Lake RV Campground charges "$100 deposit on the heat tape during winter on the spigot. If you don't want to pay it then you have to call them to unlock the water to fill your tank."

Access routes: Some parks have challenging approaches. One RVer mentioned Liberty Lake has "tight narrow roads up to site" that created a "tight squeeze for my 30 ft RV." Always call ahead to confirm your specific rig can be accommodated, especially for units over 35 feet.
