Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ravensdale, WA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks around Enumclaw and Fall City provide full hookup options for larger motorhomes and travel trailers. Tall Chief Campground features spacious pull-through sites nestled among tall trees, with 30-amp electric and water hookups but no sewer connections at individual sites. "We had to take showers at the facilities which are kept up fairly well," noted one RVer who stayed for two weeks. Blue Sky RV Park in Issaquah offers paved, level pads that accommodate larger rigs with full hookups, while Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park provides 50-amp service with sewer connections on relatively open sites.

Navigating to some parks requires attention to steep approaches and narrow access roads. Cell service varies significantly at Tall Chief due to dense tree coverage, with one visitor reporting "120+ Mbps download on AT&T in my site right now, but several sites down from me, it can dwindle down to 5 Mbps." Most parks in the region remain open year-round, though some implement age restrictions on RVs, with Enumclaw Expo Center not permitting vehicles older than 20 years. Dump stations are available at or near most parks, with Tall Chief offering on-site dumping facilities. For longer stays, honey wagon service costs approximately $60 per visit at parks without sewer hookups at individual sites.

    Crystal Mountain RV Parking

Great base-camp for winter and summer adventures at Crystal Mountain Resort

Stayed here for the first time in July 2021.  I understand this opened last winter.  Talking to the host, I found out it is far more popular in winter when ski season is open. It was quiet and sparsely filled in July on a Friday and Saturday night.

3 different areas respectively for large RV and 50 amps power, small RVs and 30 amp and tent only area. A fee picnic tables (no benches) available toward the tent only area.  Bathroom are just two sani-cans. Relatively clean.  There is trash and recycling behind the office which is adjacent to the host RV.

Free WI-Fi (the host will give you code) and good LTE connection on AT&T.

Silver Creek runs behind the lot and gives a  bit more of a natural feel. Otherwise you are in a giant parking lot (Lot B).

Can't beat the location for skiing and hiking or biking at Crystal Mountain!

    Cascades RV Resort

    Cascades RV Resort

We are long term RV campers here at Cascades. It is a lovely RV resort with large concrete pads with astroturf lawn and picnic table. Everyone is friendly. Nightly noise is never excessive. Gracie’s place is an onsite cafe that serves food, alcohol, deserts, coffees, and other drinks. You can get package delivery just no USPS. They do offer monthly discounts. Would highly recommend for anyone in an RV.

    North Sound Recreational Vehicle Park

    Simple Urban RV Park

This is very much an RV park and not really a campground. Seems like a clean little park, but right in the middle of Lynnwood, so if you are looking for a rural setting this isn't for you.

They offer weekly and monthly rentals, so this is more of a long-term sort of place.

    Website: Northsound RV Park

    Requirements from their site:

    • Your travel trailer must be year 2005 or newer
    • Pet friendly(limit 2) not to exceed 25 lbs. Aggressive breed restrictions apply.
    • No conversion vehicles - sorry van and bus life people
    • No trailers larger than 35' long, ideally.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Awesome park

We reserved a space for 1 night the day before. Great communication with Brett, everything went really smooth. The facilities are great and very clean, the park very quiet. There are a lot of big rigs parked there, some of the pm long-term as it seems. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again.

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

    Nice place

Nice campground on the SW corner of Mt Rainier NP. We were here in the off season, meaning that reservations are not taken and everything is FCFS. You stop at the ranger office at the campground entrance and you’re given a campsite. $20/night. Zero cell service in this whole area (but there was good cell reception and wifi at Paradise, and free wifi at the museum 2 miles down at Longmire).

There are water spigots at this campground, flush toilets, no showers, trash dumpsters, and glass, plastic, and aluminum recycling. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. The dump station has been non operational for several years and the ranger said she doesn’t think it’ll ever be fixed.

The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome, and us at 28 ft head to toe felt very big here. The Wonderland Trail hike can be accessed from this campground, just across the road. Lots of trees in this campground, and we struggled to keep our batteries charged via solar, though there looked to be enough open sky for starlink (we don’t have starlink so I can’t say). All the loops here in this campground are pretty similar in layout and landscape.

    Cedar Glen RV Park

great long-term or quick on the way

There are several long term campers here. The grounds are kept immaculate and they regularly update the sites.  They hang wreaths for the winter holidays. Lawns mowed weekly.

All are level gravel. All have grass area, some with patio pad. There is a dog walk area and they are currently creating a dog fenced area at the end orf the two rows.

A caretaker is on site and will often help guide rigs into the sites (all are back-in).

Close to Poulsbo (a cute, Norwegian heritage town), Seattle ferry via Bainbridge Island and just over an hour to the Olympic National Park via the Hood Canal Bridge.

    Riverbend Campground

    Nice campground with friendly staff

Interesting the other review was for a first time out with their travel trailer!  Same for us!

We got site 106 which was the furthest one out, it was right along the river.  The site has a concrete slab and fit our Jayco 174BH perfectly.

This site does is a back in, but the slab is at a 90 degree angle from the drive.  So you will have to back your trailer around a corner if you plan to park it on the slab.  Didn't see other sites like this.

The campground did have a very small selection of items to buy, but mainly snacks.  They do fill propane tanks, but only during week days.

The site had water and electrical, but no sewer connections.  they do have a nice dump station.

The camp ground itself did have at least 2 pet areas neither are fenced so a leash is required, along with a playground for the kids.

We have Verizon and had no issues with cell signal at this campground.

Also, this is a private campground, so they have a guy that stands at the gate to open it when guests come arrive.

    Elkamp Eastcreek

    Best place in Washington state

This is the cleanest, most cared for camping site I have ever been to. The owners Tom and Brian, make your stay very enjoyable. They care about you having a great experience, whether you’re a first time camper or a seasoned camper. They have a great store with snacks, wine, beer, and local sourced goods. They have games you can use while you are there, like corn hole and board and card games, free of charge. Sites are large for travel trailers and motor homes, they also have tent and group sites. Trailer and motor home sites have power and water, there is a dump station you can use on your way home free of charge. The bathrooms are large and very clean, the shower is 4 quarters for 6 minutes, those of us who try to take a 3 minute shower in our rigs so we don’t run through all the hot water so our partner can have a shower without waiting for the water to get hot again it’s a blessing. In the evening Tom or Brian drive through the park seeing if anyone needs ice or firewood, if there’s not a burn ban, bring a propane fire pit for your camping experience. They also sell propane so no fears on running out. The best thing is you are under a large canopy of trees which helps to keep you cool even on the hottest days. There is a small creek to put your chair in and put your feet in the water. Our first year there we brought 4 other people, this year it was 28. We make Elkcamp our yearly get together. Family friendly and a great place to unwind. You’re only a few miles from mineral lake, bring your trunks, inner tube, or your paddle boards. I’d give it a solid 10 out of 10.

    Indian Camp Campground

    Free range cows

Camp here for free for 7 days with a discover pass! 2 pit toilets, fire ring and picnic table at each site. Big areas for RVs, horse trailers and group sites. No water hook ups or dump stations. River access and lots of trails for nature walks. Very beautiful area! I had phone service and I use Sprint.

Guide to Ravensdale

Ravensdale sits in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains at an elevation of 623 feet, creating a transitional climate between coastal and mountain weather patterns. The area receives about 50 inches of annual rainfall, with summer temperatures typically reaching the mid-70s. Most RV sites near Ravensdale, Washington remain accessible year-round despite occasional winter snow at higher elevations.

What to do

Hiking trails access: The Tall Chief Campground location places campers within minutes of popular trails. "We love Tall Chief because it is super close to a lot of great spots around the Seattle region," notes one visitor who found the park convenient for day trips.

Coffee exploration: Local coffee shops offer a taste of Pacific Northwest coffee culture. "It's super close (like 7 min drive) from one of my favorite coffee shops, Aroma Coffee Co. Try it! You won't be disappointed!" recommends a Tall Chief regular.

Miniature golf: South Prairie Creek RV Park and other facilities maintain recreational amenities on-site. Tall Chief includes "miniature golf, playground and basketball" according to one visitor who "had a great time, even stayed an extra night!"

Lake activities: Campsites near water offer additional recreation options. "Beautiful lake" notes one visitor about Angle Lake RV Park, which provides convenient water access for guests.

What campers like

Privacy levels: Sites with separation from neighbors rank highly among reviewers. At Lake Pleasant RV Park, "trees between spots offered a really nice level of privacy" according to one camper who appreciated the layout despite compact spaces.

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathrooms and showers receive consistent praise. "The bathrooms are usually found to be immaculate. The main bathrooms have a great 'spa' feeling to their design and make you feel like you are glamping," reports a frequent Tall Chief visitor.

Landscape variety: The region offers diverse camping environments. "Issaquah Village RV Park is clean and green" according to one reviewer, who appreciated the park despite its proximity to I-90.

Laundry costs: Reasonable laundry fees matter to extended-stay campers. Lake Pleasant offers "laundry machines ($2 washer/$2 dryer) get the job done, with no need to keep feeding the machine," notes a recent guest.

What you should know

Site selection strategy: Many campgrounds feature variable cellular connectivity. When staying at Tall Chief, one reviewer suggests: "arrive early so you can drive by all the sites while checking to make sure you have good reception if you need it."

Age restrictions: Some facilities limit older RVs. "They don't allow drop-ins or vehicles older than 20 yrs" reports a visitor about Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park, reflecting a policy common at several area campgrounds.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some campgrounds. "You'll be camping 200' from I-90" cautions one Issaquah Village reviewer, though they added that "ear plugs did a good job of quieting that noise enough for us to get a good sleep."

Pet policies: Dog-friendly camping varies significantly between parks. At some locations like Issaquah Village, "you have to go outside the park and across the street to be a compliant pet owner" notes one visitor who found the arrangement inconvenient.

Tips for camping with families

Playground availability: Not all parks cater to children. "Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor is pet friendly, but not many attractions for children (no playground, no pool)," notes one reviewer, making it less suitable for families with young children.

Walking opportunities: Internal trail systems provide safe recreation space. Lake Pleasant features "short hiking trails through the trees — somewhat steep gravel trails that give you an added level of workout over laps around the park," according to one active camper.

Wildlife viewing: Many campgrounds support bird watching opportunities. "The grounds are quiet... truly silent... save for the many geese that call the lake in the center of the property their home," explains a Lake Pleasant visitor who found the wildlife charming despite occasional noise.

Storage options: Some parks accommodate trip interruptions. Lake Pleasant offers "on site storage if you need to leave your rig for a few days" and one visitor reported they "camped, stored my camper while I went on a cruise, camped and then headed out."

Tips from RVers

Campsite dimensions: Larger rigs require careful site selection. Blue Sky RV Park features a "pad was paved, level and long enough for Super C and toad," according to one visitor who successfully accommodated their motorhome and towed vehicle.

Power management: Older electrical systems may present challenges during peak usage. One Tall Chief visitor noted that "an entire section of the park blew after having several days of power issues" during a heat wave, highlighting infrastructure limitations.

Propane services: On-site propane refills simplify extended stays. Lake Pleasant "can fill propane on site" according to one reviewer who appreciated this convenience feature.

Long-term options: Extended stay policies vary significantly. South Prairie Creek RV Park provides options for longer visits, while other facilities like Midway Village RV Park are "a long term only location with 6 months or more as the minimum stay."
