Lake Wenatchee State Park is a 489-acre camping park with 12,623-feet of waterfront on glacier-fed Lake Wenatchee and the Wenatchee River and is a great place for camping near Seattle. The park is bisected by the Wenatchee River, creating two distinct areas – south park, which features areas for camping, swimming and horseback riding, and north park, which is in a less developed, forested section of the park and a quarter-mile walk from the lake.
The park has 155 tent spaces, 42 water and electric sites, one dump station, seven restrooms, and 16 showers. In addition, the park provides two ADA campsites. Call 509-763-3101 for more information.
The south campground (sites 1 - 100) has parking pads 30 to 40-feet in length, with only two pull-through sites. Larger RVs and fifth-wheelers should use the north campground (sites 101 - 197) which includes 42 large pull-through utility sites. Maximum tents allowed are one family tent or up to two 2-3 man tents. Maximum vehicles allowed are two per site, additional vehicles may park in overflow areas.

The Teanaway Guard Station is located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, north of Cle Elum, Washington. The cabin was originally constructed in 1950 by gold miner Archie Redding, who built the cabin near Mineral Springs, Washington. In 1978, Archie passed away and his cabin came into Forest Service possession. The cabin was then moved to its present location and used as a fire guard station intermittently until becoming available for reservation in 2004. The guard station sits at 3,200 feet elevation in the Teanaway River drainage with the icy North Fork Teanaway River just across the road. It is available for rent early May through mid-November and mid-December through early April. In warmer months, the cabin is accessible by car, but winter access is by ski, snowshoe or snowmobile over a 2.2-mile groomed snowmobile route. Several amenities are provided at the cabin, but guests should be prepared to bring some of their own supplies and gear for a comfortable stay.
The nearby Ingalls Way Trail allows hikers to enjoy stunning views of Mt. Stuart and the Enchantments. Fishing is possible in nearby streams. Up to 24 inches of snowfall in a 24 hour period is not uncommon in this area, making it a winter wonderland for cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding and snowshoeing.
The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is defined by its diverse landscapes, boasting high, glaciated alpine peaks, lush valleys of old-growth forest and rugged shrub-steppe country. More than 700 lakes and mountain ponds dot the glacier-carved terrain of nearby Alpine Lake Wilderness. Tree-covered valleys give way to rocky ridges and rugged peaks along the crest of the Cascades. Many peaks and slopes are permanently cloaked in snowfields. From wet forests of Douglas fir, cedar and mountain hemlock, the landscape opens up to expansive meadows and dry forests of ponderosa pine and grasses. ScoutAbsolutely horrible experience. Price is gouging, most expensive camp for very little,$70 got us water and power with a small site. Brutally slow wifi. Hot tub’s heater and jets don’t work. To top it off, a kid shit in the pool which caused the staff to close it for the night at 6pm. It’s 95 degrees out and the only reason we considered this over priced joke of a campground was for the use of it’s pool and hot tub, both of which are grossly inadequate. Extremely loud, busy, lots of unsupervised screaming kids running around and crying babies in the middle of the night. Tightly crammed spaces. Save your money, time, and sanity by seeking accommodations else where.
GuideI went to Leavenworth for the Oktoberfest event with friends. We stayed there for two nights. We checked in and out very easily and it was very perfect. There are something that I like about KOA. It is perfect for large group to stay there for a weekend for an event in Leavenworth because it has excellent shuttle transportation to Leavenworth. Not only that the campground gives many options that they have such as hot tub, breakfast, coffee, fire pit, games and etc. And it has awesome the views of mountains and even better the view of river which it is right next to the campground! And we had a great weekend there during the weekend of October!

We stayed here in July 2021 the pool and hot tub are open the club house is as well. There are 30 and 50 amp sites with sewer hook ups. It is blazing hot here in summer with little to no shade. Nice walking path to the river and to the resort community near by. It is about 10 miles from Quincy Wa. There very few restaurants in town they have a couple of grocery stores and gas stations along with an Ace Hardware. It is only 24 miles to Wenatchee Wa. For a lot more options. We had good AT&T cell and good Sprint service at our site. It is very quiet and laid back. Great views of the Columbia river from back row.

I recently rented the cabin for the weekend in February. I've already made a reservation for a summer weekend, but this review is based on winter use.
The cabin comes with a stove & a battery lantern, with the expectation that you'll provide the fuel & the batteries. A previous user had left a propane canister and left the batteries in the lantern. It's a nice gesture, but come prepared with your own. I'd also brought along a propane lantern, and I'm glad I did. (Although this did violate the "no open flames in the cabin" rule - more on that later.) The interior of the cabin is very dark, and while the battery lantern provides light, it's only bright up close. Plan to bring your own lanterns, especially in the winter when the night's dark comes early. There are some board games and books in the cupboard, as well.
The bunkbeds are covered in plastic, but it's a thin cellophane so it wasn't noisy. There are provided pillows; I didn't use them. The bunks' mattresses are comfortable. Because of the way the Forest Service installed the bunkbed & the cupboards, the bunkbeds don't fully benefit from the heat of the woodstove. In the winter, you'll want a warm sleeping bag.
I broke the "no open flames in the cabin" rule because it was 16°F outside, and my meals needed to simmer. I imagine this rule is designed to protect the cabin as well as to protect visitors from CO poisoning. I placed the stove near a window and opened the window a crack, and I never turned my back on the stove. There's a CO monitor in the cabin, and truth be told, the cabin's drafty. But if you're going to break the rule, understand the risk you're taking, and for the love of all that is holy do not burn down this cabin.
The lock on the woodshed is the kind that the tumblers need to be lined up before you take the key out, but it's also a little worn so it's possible to take the key out without it being lined up. If that happens - as it did with me - it's really difficult to get the key back into the lock far enough to unlock it. (I had to heat up the lock & the key with a candle to get the tumblers "unstuck.") Be very careful with the lock, or you may find yourself having a chilly night. (Wood is only provided during winter rentals, so this doesn't apply for the summer folks.)
The toilet paper in the vault toilet is kept in a heavy plastic tote. My guess is this is to protect it from rodents. Please keep the lid on tight.
I wish I'd brought along a pair of camp shoes to keep my bed socks clean. There's a warning that you should expect every surface in the cabin has been contaminated by mouse urine & droppings. Consider that during food preparation. (I used some plastic wrap to cover the countertop to give me some clean space to work.) I didn't see any rodents while I was there, but there were droppings in a few places. There's no running water, so I'd recommend bringing hand sanitizer as well.
I was carrying more than my usual backpacking load, and I'd planned to haul things in on a sled. Unfortunately, I failed to test out my sled setup & practice pulling a sled, and on the trail it turned out to be a dismal failure. I got very lucky in that a nearby cabin owner saw me, took pity on me, and hauled my gear in & back out for me. However, his was the only one of the cabins along the road in use that weekend. If you're going to do something similar, be smarter than I was and test out your gear & your technique ahead of time.
Although the river is nearby, it has a steep bank and I wouldn't risk trying to get water out of it during the winter. I utilized the woodstove's cooktop & melted snow. It's not the tastiest, but it's fine for cooking with.
I will definitely come back, and next time I will be better prepared. I enjoyed the brief glimpse of life in a remote cabin: splitting wood & kindling, needing to keep the woodstove going through the night, et cetera. But I'm grateful someone else cut the wood and stocked the shed, and that I had access to modern winter clothing & recreation devices like lightweight snowshoes & waxless skis.

We brought our RV, but you can tent, or rent a Yurt or Igloo. Horses are welcome too! The new owners are doing a great job turning the property around. There is a large recent renovated cabin that fits up to 20 people you can stay as well.
There is a bar & cafe open as well on the weekend with amazing views. Highly recommend.
LegendWe’ve camped here a number of times and love it. 4 kids and a dog. We’ve tent camped, stayed in the cabins and our class C RV. We’ve been in a variety of spots around the campground. Our favorite were tent camping over the river and being close to the playground & dog park on the RV. The store is the best I’ve come across at a campsite. Great kid craft activities, nice playground, yummy pancake breakfast, great access for swimming in the river. We walk to town. It’s awesome.
LegendThis is one of the larger KOAs I have been to. Plenty of room for RVs, trailers, and tents. They also have a few cabins to stay in. Our site was near the playground which was central to the camp ground. There is a TV/ play room that my littlesloved but not as much as the heated pool, yes, they have a heated pool!
This site lies on the banks of the Yakima River. My dad was able to go fly fishing and my littles were able to search for rocks and fish in the shallow areas.
The general store has all your basic needs, but a difference from other KOAs was that they sell bee and wine!
The hosts are great but are pretty strict with quiet hours (which I prefer with littles).
GuideNormally I don't camp at KOA's but if you are trying to camp and ALSO do some usual Leavenworth things this is the perfect spot. It is walking and biking distance from town, right behind the Safeway, and has lots of amenities. Great place for kids especially there's tons of activities, playground and even a pool. There are 4 or 5 free activities daily and even a couple for 21+ which I appreciated as a visitor without kids.
We stayed in a tent site and it was small and dusty but had a private trail to the river which totally made up for the more cramped quarters. Quiet hours were observed and the staff was ultra friendly. Picked up our propane and filled it for us and everything!
I will definitely go back here during shoulder season and rent a cabin.

Please note that the pictures from previous reviews may be misleading, as this campground is not located next to the lake but on the opposite side of the road. The Last Resort has multiple addresses listed on various websites, including a store, gas station, and cabins in the vicinity. To ensure we had the correct address, I called three days prior to our arrival, but unfortunately, no one returned my call. Upon arrival, the woman who checked us in provided us with a code of "1212," but it seemed unclear if she understood the situation. This made it difficult for us to connect to the wifi network. While setting up our campsite, we noticed that two other RV campers were long-term residents, and the other sites were vacant. However, due to a general feeling of unease, we decided to leave. We ultimately found a last-minute spot at Lake Easton State Park and were able to secure a spot there.
RangerClose to Moses Lake and Wenatchee - perfect getaway for the weekend. Beautiful sites near the river and the area is rapidly growing with activity. Seems like everyone has a dog. 😆

Well maintained campground even though it is quite large. If there is any kind of wind - the kayak rental will be closed so be aware. Plenty of tree cover say most sites. Very clean facilities. Note that you won’t get that secluded feeling here. This is a full service campground.
GuideAll the sites here were beautiful many different spots to access the water. There were kayak and paddle board rentals availble at the main beach. We rented a double kayak for 2 hours for $45! Kayak the island and check it out if you have time. Also plan on spending a day in Leavenwoeth since it is only a 20 minute drive away!
ScoutThis campground was awesome! We got super lucky and found one camp ground someone must have canceled and we were able to book the camp ground! The lake is absolutely beautiful and there are quite a few trails to do around the lake! Also they offer rentals for sup boards and kayaks too. This is a must go if you haven’t but make sure to book in advance to Ghana spot!
ScoutThis place has everything, including some serious wind and freezing mornings. Bring your paddle boards, kayaks and floatation islands, though the water was cold my family never left the water. One day was so windy not only was rentals closed, but the cold lake was not appetizing. Instead we drove to Safeway in Leavenworth, went shopping in town and picked up pizza from Rudloof’s Pizza and Brats, greasy, but incredible. I wish we planned white water rafting in Leavenworth, it seemed like a few fellow campers were planning to. Fire ban was a bit of a bummer, but understood, I wish I had a propane fire pit for those cold mornings. My family will be back.
TravelerThis was our first big camping trip as a family. My husband and I had both camped separately as kids/teens but we never did it as a couple for some reason.
Anyways, this was a fun trip. Despite there being a heat wave, the weather by the lake was refreshing. The campers around us were polite. My daughter even made some friends with the site next to us.
The beach was super busy but there was still abundant room to set up a couple of chairs & relax. The rentals were fairly priced - hubby went out on the lake in a kayak. And the little store was friendly. Bathrooms were as clean as busy state park bathrooms could be.
We're headed back again to the same site this year.
GuideCampground Review:
While the lake and amenities were amazing (boat and paddle board rentals all day!) The camping itself wasn't our favorite. The sites didn't offer much privacy and had paths (to the bathrooms) right through many sites. We arrived on a Sunday and left on a Monday so it wasn't too crowded, with many open spots so the privacy didn't bother us too much. This is a family campground for sure, but we'd honestly consider going back just for the Lake and the views!

As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I get products to test from time to time- today I am testing the Wenzel Double Never Flat Fabric Air Pad (https://wenzelco.com/double-neverflat-fabric-air-pad/). Honestly, we're HUGE fans! I'm plus sized and my fiance is quite tall and we fit on the pad, had the best camping sleep of our lives, and the pad didn't deflate! A little bouncing didn't effect it either ( ;) ). I'd recommend this bad boy to anyone! We really loved it and will definitely be purchasing other Wenzel products!

We've stayed here twice with other families. Once at the group site and once at other sites next to each other. If you are going with a large group you are much better off booking sites together as far away from the freeway as possible. The group site is incredibly loud because it is so close to I-90. I drempt all night that a semi-truck was running me over. Not exactly a relaxing experience. I have not experienced the hook up sites, only the standard campground. Maybe it's less noisy there? The lake is beautiful, but we had to drive from our site to get to the beach. The facilities are well maintained. If you want a shower be sure to visit the token machine at the ranger station first. There are other more quiet campgrounds you could choose if you want to get away from the noise of a busy life. I'm not sure I would pick this one again, but the lake makes a great day trip.

First off, my type of camping is getting as far away from other people as possible. That is absolutely not going to happen when you are at the Gorge, but that is not why you camp at the Gorge. I’m giving it 4 stars because for what it is, it was decent enough and clean.
On a whim my husband and I decided to book camping along with our concert tickets since it was being offered and was fairly inexpensive. Our motivations for doing so were 1) not having to drive to and from the venue on the day of the show and 2) it’s an experience, might as well try it at least once right?
We went with standard camping, the cheapest option.
As you arrive at the camping area a number of attendants will direct you where to go. Your car will queue up to be sniffed by some sniffer dogs and then if you get the go ahead you will be directed to your site sandwiched in between the other cars that are arriving at around the same time as you. You’ll feel a slight sense of panic and dread as you realize how tightly everyone is packed in and how tricky it will be to carefully navigate your vehicle through the narrow patch of grass that is left between the tents and vehicles if you decide to leave. You will then take a deep breath, crack open a beer, and start settling in.
We had enough room in our designated space for our “6 person” cabin tent, and for our fairly large shade tent that we set up between the tent and the back of the car. You will absolutely want to bring some sort of shade tent if you plan on hanging out in the campground before the concert. It gets uncomfortably hot very fast if you are not shielded from the sun.
We had originally planned on driving out in the morning to explore the area, maybe find some water to cool off in, but ultimately decided not to due to the previously mentioned difficulties of navigating our car out of our site and through the sea of other campers. Fortunately we had plenty of food, snacks and a cooler full of ice and beer. If you find yourself lacking these things, there is a small general store a short walk away that has some camping supplies, beer, snacks, water, that kind of thing (sold at “we’ve got you trapped here, so just suck it up and fork over the money” prices).
The toilets were porta potties but they were kept surprisingly clean and there were plenty of them. There was a sink with running water, soap, and paper towels. I only visited the station closest to our tent but I think there were a few scattered about.
There was someone blaring loud music past midnight the first night, but that was pretty much what I expected. I didn’t encounter any issues with other campers.
It’s about a mile (or maybe it just felt like it?) walk on a dusty road from standard camping to the venue. Wear good shoes and sunscreen!
Ok, that’s about it. Everything I would have liked to know in advance to be prepared. I might camp again if I see another show at the Gorge, but I’d probably upgrade to get a bit more space and wiggle room.
GuideCampground Review: We had the best time at this campground, despite being a bit unlucky with the weather. We stayed in site 23, which had a peek-a-boo view, and a nice path down to the beach. It was right in between the beach and the bathrooms, and not right on top of our neighbors, even though it wasn't as private as we usually prefer. Sites 23-26 would be amazing to book as a group with kids (sites 24, and 25 are set back against a nice hilly wooded area and are extra private.) We have a 2 and a 4 year old and the beach was just perfect for them to play and swim. The swimming area is a huge and long small pebbly cove. We were surprised to find it had a little convenience store, kayak rentals, etc., and a beautiful playground for kids. The camp host (who was so nice!) also drove around in the evenings selling firewood. The bathrooms were extra clean, and the area is beautiful to hike and drive around. We did the Hidden lake hike down the road with our kids, and had an amazing time. Also, to be noted there is a South Campground and a North Campground here. The South (where we stayed) has less private sites, and seemed more for tent campers. The North Campground is bigger, and seemed to have more RVs and more private sites, but had no swim beach access that we could tell. Finally, the chipmunks were everywhere and ready to get into your food at a moments notice. We had to keep our food in the car the whole time, even though we have bear proof bins, because they wouldn't leave the boxes alone!
Gear Review: As a Dyrt Ranger, I also get products to test and review in the field. We tested out the Belmont Hella Good Blanket and are absolutely and truly in love with it! This blanket is waterproof, warm, and extra packable. We have another waterproof blanket that is big with the mom crowds, and I am going to give it away now that we have the Belmont Blanket. My kids and I loved how soft and fleecy it was to snuggle up in, and it kept us warm when we needed an extra layer. Me and my husband love that it folds up to about 1/8th of the size of our other waterproof beach blanket and is super durable and easy to wash (came out looking brand new after we washed it!) We have since this taken it to the beach many times, and get lots of comments about how nice it looks. I plan to buy these in the future for family and friend holiday gifts I love it so much!!! Definitely worth the investment!

This beautiful campground has everything you want and need: water, trails, scenic views, ample campsites, clean bathrooms and easy access.
The campground is just outside Wenatchee so you are close to many amenities and only a half hour or so from the lovely Bavarian town of Leavenworth nestled in the Cascade Mountains.
The Apple capital of Washington, this is the fruit basket of the Pacific Northwest. Go in late summer or early fall to stock up on wonderful fruit or take in a wine tasting.
At the campground there are boat launches for kayaking or motorboats and jet skis, with miles of water to explore. And fishing galore!
Search out the park’s namesake Abe Lincoln, found outlined in the craggy mountain rocks. One of the premier campgrounds of Washington.
ScoutThis is one of our favorite campgrounds in Washington. It is nice that the sites are large and private you don't feel like you are in a fishbowl like a lot of campgrounds that are just like a parking lot with picnic tables.
