Best RV Parks & Resorts near Marblemount, WA

Several RV parks sit along the Skagit River corridor near Marblemount, Washington, providing convenient access to North Cascades National Park. Skagit River RV & Camping offers full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections specifically designed for RV camping. Just west in Concrete, Thousand Trails Grandy Creek accommodates big rigs with 50-amp electrical service and full hookups, operating seasonally from March 15 to October 31. Chom's RV Campground provides a smaller, more intimate setting with only 6 RV sites but offers complete hookups including 30-amp and 50-amp service options. For those seeking year-round accommodations, Cascade Kamloops RV Park in Darrington features big-rig friendly sites with 30-amp service. "The 50 amp sites don't have 30amp or 20amp outlets, so you might need an adapter," noted one RV camper about Clark's Skagit River Resort.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for RV sites throughout the region, particularly during summer months when North Cascades visitation peaks. Most RV parks in the area welcome pets but require them to be leashed, with some guests noting issues with owners not picking up after their animals. Cell service varies significantly - Verizon works well at Howard Miller Steelhead County Park with 3-4 bars of 5G reported, while coverage becomes more limited closer to the mountains. Dump stations are available at select locations including Riverfront RV Park in Sedro-Woolley and Thousand Trails Mount Vernon, with the latter charging $5 for non-guests. For RV travelers requiring more amenities, Town and Country Motorcoach and RV Resort in Mount Vernon offers 235 sites with full hookups and is consistently rated highly for its well-maintained facilities. Winter travelers should note that some mountain access roads may have seasonal restrictions affecting larger motorhomes.

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium Sites $55 before discount (back-in only) Pull-through Sites $55 before discount Regular Back-in Site $45

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

Military Park Jim Creek Naval Radio Station Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area

    So much to do!

It had been 15 years at least since I'd been to Jim Creek. Since then, they've done some nice upgrades. The rv pads are double wide concrete pads about 50 feet long with full hook-ups. All sites include a fire pit, picnic table, and grill with ash bucket and grill cleaning brush. The rv park is close to the recreation office that has a little gift shop with snacks and drinks. This is also where you can rent equipment such as bikes, fishing poles, boats, etc. They also have a movie theater upstairs that operates on Saturday. This building has a 24 hour lounge with free wifi, TV, dvds, books, markers, coloring books, games, and other things for visitors to use. The wifi was only supposed to work inside the building, but I could pick it up in my campsite once or twice during our stay. Verizon cell service is very spotty. When I did pick it up, I only had one bar. There are several hiking trails and you can drive about 5 miles back to Twin Lakes to fish or just take a rented boat out or just enjoy the view. Jim Creek is a Naval Radio station and is for active duty military, retired, DoD, and reserves. There is a gate and you must show id to get in. Because of this and the base police roll through once or twice a day, I felt very safe compared to a state park or even a private campground. We camped Tuesday-Friday and even when it started filling up in Thursday, it was still super quiet at night. Quiet like not even bug sounds. That was wonderful.

    Verlot Campground

Camping in a van down by the river

The Verlot campground is in a beautiful location within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This small campground showed us that sometimes camping down by the river in a van isn’t really a bad life decision. The campground themselves are 2 small loops that were nicely laid out with a good number of the 26 sites being on the water. Some of the sites are more secluded than other, and a few are setup to be combined with their neighbors to accommodate large groups. Our site (#13) was one of the sites which is more separated from the neighbors on both the left and right by fairly thick underbrush and mostly shaded with the river side being left completely open. We then had a little path right down to the river. Within the site itself you get a nice decent flat area for a tent or 2 and your standard table and fire ring with a grill. There are tons of potable water spigots located throughout the campgrounds and the restroom facilities were simple but clean and fully functional. This is a great location for either just relaxing and taking in the quiet sounds of nature or as a jumping off point to explore more of the National Forest and eventually the Northern Cascades National Park.

Amenities: standard picnic tables, fire rings + grill, flush toilets, potable water

    Prohibited: pets off-leash

Nearby Hikes: Lake Twenty-Two Trail, and the Heather Lake Trail

    Rasar State Park Campground

    Spacious Getaway

We just spent two nights cold weather camping here. It’s a beautiful quiet park with very spacious lots. There is not a lot to do besides hiking, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods, this might be the ticket.

    Riverfront RV Park

Inexpensive and great for a one night

30 amp sites with water. Dump station was not on site. No showers but clean bathrooms. Traveling with friends and we were the only 2 RVs there except for a campground host. The host helped our friends replace a pin on a slide out.

Newhalem Creek Campground — Ross Lake National Recreation Area

    Great NPS campground

General: Camping in three loops plus walk-in tent sites and a group site (closed when we were there). No hookups of any kind. I was surprised that we had such good cell coverage (Verizon) but am guessing the proximity to the town of Newhalem is why.

Site Quality: Nicely wooded with decent separation. Some were back in, and some were pull-through. All were level with a paved camper pad. The sites in Loops A and B have tent platforms (didn’t see them in Loop C); all have a fire pit (but there was a burn ban), a large picnic table, and a bear box.

Bathhouse: The one in the A loop was very clean. There are no showers. No paper towels or air dryer so make sure to bring your towel.

Activities: Daily programs at Visitor Center 12:30 and 4:00 pm. It is about a half-mile walk via the River Loop to get to the Visitor Center (farther from Loop C) where you can get information on hikes and there is a small store and interpretive center. The proximity of the Visitor Center was appreciated due to the recent fires and not knowing what was open and what was not. The River Loop is approximately 2 miles and is accessed between the A and B Loops. You can also hike to Ladder Creek Falls. The gardens have been neglected for some time, but the falls are worth it. (You can also drive to the town of Newhalem to get to the falls).

We have been in many National Park campgrounds that have been outsourced and have been disappointed, so we were very glad to find this one still maintained by the NPS and at a very reasonable rate ($12 with senior pass).

Colonial Creek South Campground — Ross Lake National Recreation Area

On the edge of Diablo Lake

On the edge of Thunder Arm of Diablo Lake and amidst huge peaks, sits this beautiful campground that is run by the National Park Service. Very wooded (some with old growth forest) with private sites. Great for tents and small campers, but not too much for anything over 30 feet. Clean bathrooms, flush toilets, camper dump station, fish cleaning station, water spigots and a boat launch for small fishing boats or canoes/kayaks. In the summer months, the lake is glacially-fed, making the water turn a gorgeous turquoise color from the minerals that are brought down with the glacial flow. Lots of great hiking options in the area, including Thunder Creek which starts at the far end of the campground. This site is just 1.5 miles west of the Diablo Lake Overlook – which is hands down the best place to watch the sunset in the area. Also, most of NOCA’s evening ranger programs are held at this site. First come, first served. Cost=$16

    Poplar Flat Campground

Beautiful campground along USFS road 44

We camped here May 14, 2016 and had the campground to ourselves. It was a great base to explore this part of the Okanagan National Forest west of Twisp, Washington. The Twisp River in mid May was swollen with snow melt and was audible our pop up truck camper in site #9.

Normally, the camping fee is $12 a night but in off season is free. There are 17 sites, there was a garbage dumpster, picnic table, vault toilets, fire pit. There is water available but it was shut off therefore free camping.
