Site on Jones Bay

Dirt road to a primitive road that’s one way at some points with a steep-ish grade down. No water. Vault toilets. But a spot overlooking a canyon wall with cool foliage around!

Host Leaves Room for Improvement

A friend and I popped in for a night so due to being nearby Horseshoe Lake where we planned to kayak the following day. The site was super easy to find and accessible being right off hwy 2, and no one camping but us, so very surprised by how open and available the sites were. Enjoyed the spacious…

First Time Camper

Beaver Lodge was a pretty good first spot. The spot we had for a 29’ was a little tight but there was enough room between the RVs. Problem we had was that much of the grounds were empty but we had a camper on either side. Also, the hookups were not in good spots. The electric was at the front…

Small area, small lake

This is a small little area off the road not too far. There was only one other person there fishing when we were there. The campsites are close together with no privacy between. They look big enough for a tent and this would be a fun area to float the small lake in a tiny boat and fish. We followed…

More than met our expectations both years we camped here.

Campsites are clean, well spaced so you aren't sitting on your neighbors lap. It's fairly spacious as far as the hiking and nature paths you can explore. Sites are limited, I think there might be a total of 17 or so, some of which are day use only, but we have FULLY enjoyed our stay both times,…

Tranquil

Was amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was here. I had a smaller camp trailer that didn’t really fit but I was the only one there. The 5 spaces are designed for cars and tents. The lake was so tranquil and the lake cliffs were pretty magnificent to boat up against. All kinds of birds, waterfowl,…

Decent car camping

Sites are not shaded at all and very close together. Sites on the water are highly trafficked by other campers. Water was unswimmable due to swimmer’s itch contamination. Host was very friendly and bathrooms were clean.

Primitive camping, good overnight stop, nice views

I stayed here one night in July 2021. The sites are in groups of four with one gravel/dirt parking spot for each campsite. Behind the parking spots are picnic tables, a tent area and a fire ring for each site. Generally the area is weedy, grassy or dry dirt/sand. Most sites have lake view / access,…

Group Site

Awesome fireplace and picnic area, the tent area is a short walk from the covered area. A public path right through the camping area which was kind of annoying since the tent area wasn’t visible from the cooking area so there were strangers walking around our tents. Nice private beach area.

Be Warned

We went on the 4th of July weekend. The campground was crowded with families but also groups of adults. The families were great but the adult groups not so much. There is no host to monitor people so there were folks running their generators all night and others were up partying until 2 in the…

Holiday camping

Happy to find campground mostly empty on holiday weekend. Only needed a place to stay overnight. Water spigots but no water. Campsites had no numbers. Quiet, green, remote.

Great place w a beautiful night aky

The nightly call of the loons sing you to sleep as they howl to one another. The trout are in abundance but are some what if a challenge to keep hooked. Camp site are flat. Huge fire pits. And the night sky like you only see in movies!!

Our favorite annual campground

Perfect lake to swim in that is connected to a larger ski lake with a channel so there is not heavy boat traffic on the ski lake.
