Overview

Spring Canyon Campground, on the shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, is perfect for those who enjoy being on the water. The 130-mile long lake is a feature of the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. The lake is named after President Franklin D. Campers have the convenience of a day-use swimming area and plenty of space to sit back and soak up the summer sun and cooler days of spring and fall.

Lake temperatures are comfortable for swimming during the summer, even though much of the water originates from glaciers and snowmelt in the cold, high Canadian Rockies. The lake area has abundant wildlife and birds, including eagles and osprey. Dozens of species of fish inhabit the lake.

Good park, subpar campsites

I could see this spot being great for group sites. But the campsites were hard, small, and lacked privacy. Also, being in the upper loop, the Park Ranger made us extinguish our small tabletop smores solo stove. Not a big deal for us, but put a damper on our evening.

The beach and park were great! Lots of amenities—showers, sand beach, docks, volleyball, seating, grills, etc. However, the volleyball court sand was incredibly shallow and hard. Avoid diving to the ground while playing.

The Park Ranger let us know we could have a fire on the beach—which was the saving grace of the trip.

Spring Canyon CG

Nice campground overlooking the waters of Lake Roosevelt, created by Grand Coulee Dam. A reviewer stated that there are pit toilets only but there are flush toilets also. Another mentioned no dump station but there is. Nice vistas of lake in the high desert. Deer and quail about.

Come for the lake

The water here is amazing felt fresh after swimming in it! Campground is pretty basic not much shade at any spot and there’s pretty much no privacy

Vault toilets and I think there’s just two water spigots for the whole campground.

Good for a night or two

The Dyrt dropped the ball on this one.

Needing a place to lay our head, take a shower and dump our tank, we turned to the Dyrt, which states there's showers (there arent) and a dump station ( there isn't) here. Disappointing for a camping app. I will definately not be relying solely on the Dyrt in the future, which I usually dont anyways. But I did. So, the campground is full and kind of noisy, but has a nice view of the lake and can accommodate our 25 foot rv. It's mid August and 102 degrees when we arrived around 4:30 pm, nothing a cool swim didnt help remedy.

Ok spot to explore the area

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March. The campground is ok. Not really any privacy from other campers in the campground so it’s not exactly my type of camping. Had to walk up and down a hill to get to the restroom which isn’t exactly fun if you have to get up in the middle of the night. Looks like it has a nice beach area so it could be a fun place for kids in the summer.

I definitely recommend checking out the nearby Northrup Canyon Homestead trail if you’re in the area. Neat trail with some cool history.

Roosevelt NRA campground clean and tidy

We were there on an early October Sunday. Reservations only but easy with reservations.gov and no fee for the ease of reserving a site.

After October 1, the water was off, no garbage, and flush toilet restrooms were closed. Clean vault toilet. We were in site 10. The fall foliage was gorgeous and we had a partial view of Lake Roosevelt.

The only bad part was an extra loud generator which comes with no service campgrounds that have easy access for larger RVs.

Day use area and very large marina/boat launch.

Really pretty site!

Really shocked there aren’t more reviews on this place. There’s beach access with clear water and it’s all nestled between canyons. Very quiet but doesn’t feel isolated. Dog friendly with finished bathrooms that include sinks and mirrors. Only negatives: no camp supervisor- we paid for this site and anyone could just pull up for free. It says online reservation required but no one is here enforcing anything. Maybe it’s different pre-Labor Day. Make sure you bring a stove because campfires are a no go!

Great campground right on the lake

We came here to enjoy the lake.  The campground was right on the lake shore with a great sand beach!

They sites are pretty close together but were usable.  The site we had was a back-in site, the site is gravel and pretty level.  There are no hookups at this location.  First time boon docking, so we were not sure what to expect. This allowed us to test out our travel trailer and it passed.

We have Verizon and there were no issues with cell service for us.

The campground has a clean restroom, we used our trailer shower.

Pets are allowed and with how the lakeshore was, we were able to walk around a bend and get away from others allowing us to go off-leash so our dog could play in the water freely.
