    Thousand Trails Little Diamond

    Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

    Deer Park RV Resort

    Beautiful spot

After boondocking for the previous two nights this was a much needed oasis. High class operation. The name is confusing. It's actually the Deer Park RV Resort. It's right on the golf course. Seems to be a lot of long term campers. Put your trash out and they come by and pick it up in the morning. If you need propane, you set your bottle at the curb they will fill it and return it to your cradle. Beautiful bathhouse. Pool. A little pricey but worth it.

    Lake Spokane Campground—Riverside State Park

    Great campsite

We stayed at campsite 7 and had a great experience. The site was flat and spacious—easily fit both of our 12ft Gazelle tents with room to spare, and parking two vehicles was no issue. Bathrooms were very clean, and the individual showers were free, which was a great bonus. No mosquito or tick problems at all during our stay. It’s a family-friendly spot with decent privacy (6/10), low noise, and access to water, swimming, and a nearby boat launch down hill from campground. T-Mobile service worked well, and the site had a good mix of sun and shade. We’ll definitely be back.

RV Park At Chewelah Golf & Country Club

    Mostly really great

This is a five star campground based on our criteria. Only reason we give it four stars is they are letting the only trees they have for shade die and they are creating a mess. No shade without them. Grounds are largely in disarray. Also washers are top load agitator type. There are many positives though that will bring us back. It is largely a quiet small campground. It is very reasonably priced and is very dog friendly. There are several places to walk the dogs on leash and off within either walking distance or a short drive to the Colville national forest. Management is really friendly and flexible to changing needs. And they do not require payment until you show up. This is a great spot for golfers as well as non golfers. Note the club has pickle ball courts for free use! Great little restaurant and bar on site too with very cheap drinks ($9 Moscow mule!)

Spring Canyon Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Great campground right on the lake

We came here to enjoy the lake.  The campground was right on the lake shore with a great sand beach!

They sites are pretty close together but were usable.  The site we had was a back-in site, the site is gravel and pretty level.  There are no hookups at this location.  First time boon docking, so we were not sure what to expect. This allowed us to test out our travel trailer and it passed.

We have Verizon and there were no issues with cell service for us.

The campground has a clean restroom, we used our trailer shower.

Pets are allowed and with how the lakeshore was, we were able to walk around a bend and get away from others allowing us to go off-leash so our dog could play in the water freely.

Kettle Falls Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Busy Campground next to Full Service Marina

The Kettle Falls Campground sits on the Upper Columbia River in a popular recreational area.

The campsites are not very private but a few offer stunning views of the river. The campground is busy on the weekends. If you’re looking for peace and quiet try camping during the week.

There are no services except for a few vault toilets and a dump station. However, there’s a full service marina next door. The marina is a popular fishing and water sport destination in the summer.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The sites are small so parking a big rig will be a hassle.

Overall, the Kettle Falls Campground is a great place to access the Upper Columbia River. However, there is little privacy and it gets busy on the weekends.

    Swan Lake Campground

    Beautiful & quiet.

Great campground with easy access to the woods and a beautiful lake with views and fishing. Paved road, clean drinking water, vaulted toilets, locking dumpsters for trash, no motorized boats allowed. Great for families that enjoy camping, great lake for fishing and kayaking, great spot for birding. There are pull through spots for trailers in the upper part of the campground and back in spots with lake views and access. Walk in and group sites are much more private.

    Deer Lake Resort

    Beautiful

We stumbled on this resort because they were on the Passport America list. They are NO longer a passport America park as they are under new ownership. Nice large campsites, beautiful swimming area and cute little store and breakfast restaurant! Beautiful star-y skies and lots of deer at night!!! No fire ring at the site, there are picnic tables and we had a full hookup site! Staff was super friendly. Dog friendly!

    Deer Park RV Resort

    NICE

We paid $60 a night. They have monthly rates for $1000. The camp host showed us to our site AND helped us back in without even asking. The pool is nice with adult swim in early mornings and late evenings. They have mini golf, real golf, pool, sana, fitness fun, lounge area, kids playground, dog area, and more. They collect your trash at your site every day, and have a propane delivery service so you can get your tanks filled without having to get out of your slippers.
My 70 yo mother slipped and couldn't get up with her knee replacementsand the staff came running to help and got her on her feet immediately and made sure she was OK. You can tell they're are permanent residence here that decorate with flowers and elegant arrangements.

Guide to Inchelium

The Inchelium area sits within the Colville Indian Reservation in northeastern Washington, surrounded by forested mountains and close to Lake Roosevelt. RV camping options range from lakeside resorts to golf course adjacent parks, with most facilities open seasonally between April and October due to winter weather conditions. Many smaller sites don't accommodate larger rigs but provide quieter camping experiences.

What to do

Golfing access: RV Park At Chewelah Golf & Country Club provides direct access to golf facilities. "The golf course is beautiful and the area has backroads to all kinds of little towns with good burger joints," notes one resident camper. The park also features "pickle ball courts for free use" according to another reviewer.

Lake activities: Jump Off Joe Lake Resort and RV Park offers swimming and fishing opportunities on a smaller, warmer lake. "The lake is small and warm. There is great fishing. There is plenty of shade," according to a camper who visited with family. This destination sits approximately one hour from Inchelium.

Kayaking options: Several water bodies near Inchelium-area RV parks support paddling. "Kayaking very close," mentions a reviewer about the Chewelah area, while North Lake RV Park features a lake "clean" enough for "floating on the river which is just a short drive away."

What campers like

Restaurant convenience: Several RV parks near Inchelium feature on-site dining options. Chewelah Golf & Country Club has "a great little restaurant and bar on site too with very cheap drinks ($9 Moscow mule!)" according to one reviewer who appreciated not having to travel for meals.

Camp host assistance: Deer Park RV Resort staff provide exceptional service. "The camp host showed us to our site AND helped us back in without even asking," writes one camper. Another notes, "They collect your trash at your site every day, and have a propane delivery service so you can get your tanks filled without having to get out of your slippers."

Swimming areas: Willow Bay RV Resort & Marina offers "great lake access and a great swimming area" according to a visitor who spent July 4th there. The lakefront location provides convenient water activities with "nice grassy camp spots" close to swimming zones.

What you should know

Cell service limitations: Many RV parks in the Inchelium region have connectivity challenges. At North Lake RV Park & Campground, "cell coverage will be spotty here. (Bring a book)," advises one camper. Willow Bay similarly notes "No cell service, but who needs it when you're camping!"

Noise considerations: Some RV parks experience unexpected noise issues. The Chewelah Golf & Country Club RV Park had one visitor note it "was on track for 5-stars until the road noise from logging trucks became an issue starting at 3AM."

Facility maintenance varies: Bathroom and shower facilities differ widely between Inchelium-area parks. Willow Bay received mixed reviews with comments like "toilets and showers rundown and not cleaned" from one visitor, while another noted they "really could do with renovation."

Tips for camping with families

Activity options: Jump Off Joe Lake Resort and RV Park provides kid-friendly features. "It does have a playground and a swim area, lots of nice shade trees," notes a family camper, though they caution about extra fees: "they charge extra for the 2 dogs and then the extra kid since our family is 2 adults and 3 kids and 2 dogs."

Swimming safety: North Lake RV Park & Campground offers safe water recreation options. "Weather was great for hanging out in the lake all day swimming and kayaking," describes a visitor who spent a week there, though warns to "Be aware of bees during the day and mosquitoes at night."

Group camping setup: Some RV parks near Inchelium feature layouts conducive to family gatherings. North Lake RV Park provides "2 sites side by side for our camping partners. Nice grassy area for group activities," according to one family that visited with a 50-foot rig.

Tips from RVers

Seasonal considerations: Most RV parks Inchelium visitors use operate on limited schedules. RV Park At Chewelah Golf & Country Club runs from April 1 to October 31, and Jump Off Joe Lake Resort maintains the same seasonal window, requiring advance planning for visits outside summer months.

Site spacing: Columbia Point Resort provides "nice spots, wide, easy to back in (30ft)," according to one RVer who appreciated the extra room for maneuvering larger trailers. The resort welcomes pets and can accommodate bigger rigs.

Parking configurations: Deer Park RV Resort uses unique site arrangements. "We had as I call, circle the wagons layout. 4 RV spots are placed around a common grass area. This would be nice for a group, but a bit weird for a stranger placed in this circle," explains one RVer who recommends checking site configuration when making reservations.
