    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV campgrounds are located within 30 miles of Covington, Washington, with hookup options ranging from water and electric to full 50-amp service for larger motorhomes. Tall Chief Campground in Fall City features spacious RV sites with 30-amp electric and water hookups, though no sewer connections at individual sites. Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor provides full hookups including 50-amp service across its 102 sites, while Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park offers level concrete pads with water and electric connections. Blue Sky RV Park near Issaquah accommodates big rigs with paved, level sites. "The pad was paved, level and long enough for Super C and toad. Will definitely come back to stay at Blue Sky," according to one visitor.

Most RV parks in the region operate year-round, though availability becomes limited during summer months. Dump stations are available at several locations, including Tall Chief and Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor, while others like Enumclaw Expo Center require using nearby public dump facilities. Cell service varies significantly, particularly at tree-covered parks like Tall Chief where reception can range from excellent to poor depending on site location. Pet-friendly policies are standard across most parks, though specific restrictions may apply. Laundry facilities and showers are commonly available, with Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor receiving praise for its "clean and reasonably priced" laundry amenities. Between October and April, reservations are typically easier to secure for larger motorhomes requiring premium sites.

      Manchester State Park Campground

Cute little state park but could use some updates at sites

Stayed here for 3 days at the start of March. Beautiful weather. We tow a 26ft travel trailer and reserved pull through site 3 which was nice and open and had lots of room for our trailer and tow vehicle. It needed a bit of leveling off on one side but nothing drastic. Walking the loop I'd say it was one of the best sites for a larger travel trailer that was also mostly level. The site is a bit of a walk to the restroom so if this matters to you, just know that. The park is on the smaller side but it makes great use of space. It was quiet and everyone kept their dogs leashed. Park host was very accessible and friendly. There is a dump station with potable water and our site also had water/electric (no sewer). Cell service worked great and we didn't have to use our starlink although our site was more open than others so I think it would've worked. If you have an EV there is a fast charging station at Fred Meyer about 17 minutes away.

      Crystal Mountain RV Parking

Great base-camp for winter and summer adventures at Crystal Mountain Resort

Stayed here for the first time in July 2021.  I understand this opened last winter.  Talking to the host, I found out it is far more popular in winter when ski season is open. It was quiet and sparsely filled in July on a Friday and Saturday night.

3 different areas respectively for large RV and 50 amps power, small RVs and 30 amp and tent only area. A fee picnic tables (no benches) available toward the tent only area.  Bathroom are just two sani-cans. Relatively clean.  There is trash and recycling behind the office which is adjacent to the host RV.

Free WI-Fi (the host will give you code) and good LTE connection on AT&T.

Silver Creek runs behind the lot and gives a  bit more of a natural feel. Otherwise you are in a giant parking lot (Lot B).

Can't beat the location for skiing and hiking or biking at Crystal Mountain!

      Cascades RV Resort

      Cascades RV Resort

We are long term RV campers here at Cascades. It is a lovely RV resort with large concrete pads with astroturf lawn and picnic table. Everyone is friendly. Nightly noise is never excessive. Gracie’s place is an onsite cafe that serves food, alcohol, deserts, coffees, and other drinks. You can get package delivery just no USPS. They do offer monthly discounts. Would highly recommend for anyone in an RV.

      North Sound Recreational Vehicle Park

      Simple Urban RV Park

This is very much an RV park and not really a campground. Seems like a clean little park, but right in the middle of Lynnwood, so if you are looking for a rural setting this isn't for you.

They offer weekly and monthly rentals, so this is more of a long-term sort of place.

      Website: Northsound RV Park

      Requirements from their site:

      • Your travel trailer must be year 2005 or newer
      • Pet friendly(limit 2) not to exceed 25 lbs. Aggressive breed restrictions apply.
      • No conversion vehicles - sorry van and bus life people
      • No trailers larger than 35' long, ideally.

      Blue Sky RV Park

      Awesome park

We reserved a space for 1 night the day before. Great communication with Brett, everything went really smooth. The facilities are great and very clean, the park very quiet. There are a lot of big rigs parked there, some of the pm long-term as it seems. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again.

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

      Nice place

Nice campground on the SW corner of Mt Rainier NP. We were here in the off season, meaning that reservations are not taken and everything is FCFS. You stop at the ranger office at the campground entrance and you’re given a campsite. $20/night. Zero cell service in this whole area (but there was good cell reception and wifi at Paradise, and free wifi at the museum 2 miles down at Longmire).

There are water spigots at this campground, flush toilets, no showers, trash dumpsters, and glass, plastic, and aluminum recycling. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. The dump station has been non operational for several years and the ranger said she doesn’t think it’ll ever be fixed.

The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome, and us at 28 ft head to toe felt very big here. The Wonderland Trail hike can be accessed from this campground, just across the road. Lots of trees in this campground, and we struggled to keep our batteries charged via solar, though there looked to be enough open sky for starlink (we don’t have starlink so I can’t say). All the loops here in this campground are pretty similar in layout and landscape.

      Cedar Glen RV Park

great long-term or quick on the way

There are several long term campers here. The grounds are kept immaculate and they regularly update the sites.  They hang wreaths for the winter holidays. Lawns mowed weekly.

All are level gravel. All have grass area, some with patio pad. There is a dog walk area and they are currently creating a dog fenced area at the end orf the two rows.

A caretaker is on site and will often help guide rigs into the sites (all are back-in).

Close to Poulsbo (a cute, Norwegian heritage town), Seattle ferry via Bainbridge Island and just over an hour to the Olympic National Park via the Hood Canal Bridge.

      Riverbend Campground

      Nice campground with friendly staff

Interesting the other review was for a first time out with their travel trailer!  Same for us!

We got site 106 which was the furthest one out, it was right along the river.  The site has a concrete slab and fit our Jayco 174BH perfectly.

This site does is a back in, but the slab is at a 90 degree angle from the drive.  So you will have to back your trailer around a corner if you plan to park it on the slab.  Didn't see other sites like this.

The campground did have a very small selection of items to buy, but mainly snacks.  They do fill propane tanks, but only during week days.

The site had water and electrical, but no sewer connections.  they do have a nice dump station.

The camp ground itself did have at least 2 pet areas neither are fenced so a leash is required, along with a playground for the kids.

We have Verizon and had no issues with cell signal at this campground.

Also, this is a private campground, so they have a guy that stands at the gate to open it when guests come arrive.

      Elkamp Eastcreek

      Best place in Washington state

This is the cleanest, most cared for camping site I have ever been to. The owners Tom and Brian, make your stay very enjoyable. They care about you having a great experience, whether you’re a first time camper or a seasoned camper. They have a great store with snacks, wine, beer, and local sourced goods. They have games you can use while you are there, like corn hole and board and card games, free of charge. Sites are large for travel trailers and motor homes, they also have tent and group sites. Trailer and motor home sites have power and water, there is a dump station you can use on your way home free of charge. The bathrooms are large and very clean, the shower is 4 quarters for 6 minutes, those of us who try to take a 3 minute shower in our rigs so we don’t run through all the hot water so our partner can have a shower without waiting for the water to get hot again it’s a blessing. In the evening Tom or Brian drive through the park seeing if anyone needs ice or firewood, if there’s not a burn ban, bring a propane fire pit for your camping experience. They also sell propane so no fears on running out. The best thing is you are under a large canopy of trees which helps to keep you cool even on the hottest days. There is a small creek to put your chair in and put your feet in the water. Our first year there we brought 4 other people, this year it was 28. We make Elkcamp our yearly get together. Family friendly and a great place to unwind. You’re only a few miles from mineral lake, bring your trunks, inner tube, or your paddle boards. I’d give it a solid 10 out of 10.

    Guide to Covington

RV parks near Covington, Washington offer year-round camping options with varying amenities across heavily forested terrain. Located in King County at approximately 381 feet elevation, the area experiences mild winters and warm summers, with rainfall heaviest from November through January. Most campgrounds in this region sit within dense evergreen forests where cell reception can vary dramatically based on tree cover and topography.

    What to do

Hiking nearby trails: South Prairie Creek RV Park provides access to the Foothills Trail, which connects to a larger regional trail system. "The owner Dwight is awesome and Jessie is fantastic.....Grounds are very nice, looking forward to coming back," notes one visitor to South Prairie Creek RV Park.

Explore local lakes: Within 30 minutes of most Covington rv parks, you can visit Angle Lake, which offers swimming and boating opportunities. "Beautiful lake," mentions one camper staying at Angle Lake RV Park, which provides convenient access.

Visit Seattle attractions: Lake Pleasant RV Park serves as a convenient base for Seattle day trips. A camper noted, "We stayed at this park on a trip to Seattle. It was only about 30 minutes to downtown, but almost felt like you were out in the country."

    What campers like

Clean facilities: The maintenance standards at campgrounds near Covington consistently receive positive feedback. At Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor, campers appreciate that "The facilities and grounds are clean and well cared for. I stayed for almost three weeks and it was quiet and relaxing, despite how close together the sites are."

Pet amenities: Many parks accommodate travelers with animals. "Pet friendly, but not many attractions for children (no playground, no pool)," reports a visitor about Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor, highlighting the pet-friendly nature of most parks in the region.

Quiet settings: Despite being close to urban areas, several campgrounds maintain peaceful environments. At Lake Pleasant RV Park, "The grounds are quiet... truly silent... save for the many geese that call the lake in the center of the property their home."

    What you should know

Winter camping considerations: Most rv parks near Covington remain open year-round with fewer booking restrictions during colder months. At Tall Chief Campground, a winter camper noted, "Stayed 3 months for work, perfect beautiful, CHEEP CHEEP, not too good to be true, just right. All Hook ups included. (Bring your dump tote!) easy easy easy dump station."

Cell service challenges: Coverage varies significantly due to dense tree coverage. One camper at Tall Chief advises: "Another thing that can be annoying is trying to find a site with good cell reception due to all the trees. They definitely have a few, but I would say arrive early so you can drive by all the sites while checking to make sure you have good reception if you need it."

Site differences: Site quality and spacing vary significantly between parks and even within the same facility. A camper at South Prairie Creek RV Park mentioned, "Pretty nice park for a quick stopover or base camp. No picnic tables and only a small outdoor area.
