Best Cabin Camping near Wellsville, UT

Cabin accommodations near Wellsville provide a range of lodging options in the surrounding area. Hyrum State Park Campground features cabins with lake views and convenient access to water activities. These cabins are situated in a fully fenced and gated area with access to modern bathrooms, hot showers, and picnic tables. The cabins are positioned within a well-maintained campground with grassy areas and shade trees. North Fork County Park and Blacksmith Fork Guard Station also offer cabin rentals in more secluded settings. "Clean, safe, great views. There are a couple cabins for rent. We enjoyed our morning coffee with a beautiful view."

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. Brigham City-Perry South KOA offers cabin rentals with more amenities, including access to a heated pool, laundry facilities, and reliable Wi-Fi. Most cabin sites include fire rings or charcoal grills, picnic tables, and proximity to clean bathroom facilities. Hyrum State Park cabins require reservations, especially during peak summer months when the beach area is popular. The park gates close at 10 pm and reopen at 6 am, requiring guests to plan evening activities accordingly. A visitor commented, "We booked this campsite later into the season so we were lucky to get a spot."

Kitchen facilities vary significantly between locations - KOA cabins typically offer more amenities than the more rustic options at state parks. The Blacksmith Fork Guard Station provides a more isolated cabin experience with limited services but greater privacy. Several locations, including Hyrum State Park and Willard Bay State Park, provide cabin access to water recreation areas. For supplies, the Brigham City-Perry South KOA has a small market on-site, while other locations require bringing provisions or visiting nearby towns. Seasonal availability varies, with some cabin rentals like Anderson Cove operating only from May through September.

    Conestoga Ranch

    Total Glamping experience

Conestoga Ranch is a destination that gives luxury a down home feel.

Located in Garden City, Utah on the beautiful Bear Lake Conestoga Ranch offers luxury tents and a chance to stay in a covered wagon.

I stayed in a larger, more luxurious site because my wife and I were on our Anniversary weekend.

The tent had a king bed, shower, and deep claw foot tub. The decor is charmingly rustic with log furnishings and tin and raw pipe for plumbing and accessories, this is all intentional and makes the experience even better.

Onsite, there are clean shower rooms and rest rooms, laundry facilities, an arcade, and a very fine restaurant and lounge.

Upon check in, you park by the office and a attendant takes you and your gear up to your site, later on a fire concierge will come and start your fire as you relax and take in all the beauty around you.

Bear Lake offers so much opportunity for recreation, from boating, to side x side rentals to beaches, mountain biking and some shopping.

This luxury comes at a price...a pretty steep price for camping, rates vary, but staying before memorial day gave us the better rate.

I do think that the price is worth the wonderful experiences that we had at this fun little place.

    Have a great time.

    Sun Outdoors Garden City Utah

    On the beach!

This campground seems like it is one of the closer campgrounds to the water. It's pet-friendly, has full hookups, picnic tables, and wifi. The nice thing about this campground is it does have a beach as well as water/lake access. Not as many amenities as the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

The bathhouse was very clean. Did seem less busy than the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

    Blacksmith Fork Guard Station

    Everything you need is there!

We have stayed at this campsite for a few years in a row and plan to keep coming back. The guard station comes fully equipped with cooking utensils and dishes and cleaning supplies. It also includes a propane refrigerator and stove. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails nearby. It does get busy, and you do hear the ATVs going up and down the road all day. There is also a river/stream that runs behind the cabin that is great for fishing. The cabin itself is clean and well maintained. Its the perfect mix of outdoors (no running water, no wi-fi) with some comforts with the stove and beds in the cabin. Great for families who want a little less remote camping experience.

    Hyrum State Park Campground

    Small peaceful state park

We love state parks and decided to try Hyrum Stare Park for a couple of nights as we were heading south. This state park is basically in the middle of a neighborhood of a small community. Locals seem to love it but it’s not crowded at all.. It’s right on a small lake with a boat ramp and a small beach. The campground is small… about 8 or 9 sites with w/e and about a dozen sites with dry camping. All the sites are paved (even the dry camping sites) and level. Grassy and shady on most sites. Two bathhouses and a dump on site. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site. They also have a couple of cabins available. No store but there is a few things close by to get ice and a few things. It is totally fenced and gated. The gates close at 10pm and open at 6am. Very peaceful and enjoyable!

    Egan Basin Guard Station

    Peaceful, Remote and Beautiful

For $30 a night this camping site is a real deal! The site is well maintained, and the A-frame cabin on the site was perfect for our family of 5. The cabin and campsite has no electricity and no water, so you need to pack it all in. Its nice to have a chance to get away from technology and enjoy the outdoors. It is about an hour + to get somewhere where you can get water or other supplies, so you will need to plan accordingly.

Pros: remote, peaceful, quiet. Some nice trails nearby for hiking and mountain biking and ATVs. Also there is a stream that runs along the road to the cabin that is available for fishing. Also, although there are other campsites along the road to the guard station, once at the cabin (about 1/4 off the main forest road), you don't even know there are other people around.

Cons: When we were there LOTS of mosquitos, the forest service road to the guard station gate is a little rough in some places. For those without AWD or 4WD might have a hard time in places.

Cottonwood Campground — Willard Bay State Park

    State campground close to highway

Two loops that we saw, the first has no hook ups and the second has power and water at each site. There’s a little paved slab with a picnic table and covering, each site has a fire pit and charcoal grill. $30 for no hook ups $40 for hookups, got in around 8pm and no $30 sites left. There are toilets and showers for each loop. Really close to the highway so be prepared for that noise, and there’s a train that goes by every so often.

    North Fork County Park

    Nice, spacious, and secluded

Enough trees to keep your site private, able to fit a 30' trailer in over 75% of their spots, and holy cow the number of spots they have, this place is the size of 4 good sized camp grounds combined. Fire pits and picnic tables included, but that's all that's included so pack your generator and fill your water.... 5 stars it's exactly the get away we were looking for.

Ladyfinger Campground — Antelope Island State Park

    Great sites on Salt Lake

There’s 2 or 3 loops in the state park, we got one of the walk up sites on a Friday night. $20 and includes entrance fee, you check in at the guard station at the entrance and they said park gates close at 10pm.

Had a great view and were able to walk to trail heads. Our section had vault toilets for each group of campsites, huge fire pits and two picnic tables at each site. Only con is that the brine flies were outrageous!! I know outside comes with bugs, but this was like a different level! They actually chilled out once the sun went down but during the day constantly landing all over us. So just be mentally prepared.

    Bear Lake/Marina Side KOA Holiday

Beautifully developed site with all you need

We love this campground! There are a variety of ways to camp here, tent, RV, cabins and the set up allows for privacy. It really feels like a resort. There is an amazing playground for kids, swimming pool, and jumping pillow.

The area is stunningly beautiful and relaxed. The store next to the entrance is amazingly well stocked with all you’d need.

We stayed in an RV supersite that included a private hot tub and BBQ grill.

Guide to Wellsville

Cabin camping near Wellsville, Utah offers lodging alternatives throughout Cache Valley. The area sits at approximately 4,500 feet elevation with seasonal temperature fluctuations that range from below freezing in winter to 90°F in summer. Most cabin facilities remain open year-round, while some locations like Anderson Cove operate only from May through September.

What to do

Lakeside recreation: Bridger Bay Campground provides waterfront cabin experiences with wildlife viewing opportunities. "Beautiful island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. The bison are free grazing all around and a few came right up to our campground in the early morning," notes Steven M.

Winter camping: Maples Campground offers snow season cabin access for cold-weather adventurers. "Short hike in for winter camping, leaving out of Snowbasin Maples Lot. Snowshoes or touring setup will make it easier over just boots, especially as the snowpack deepens," advises Klay L.

Waterfall hiking: Cabins at North Fork County Park provide access to natural features within walking distance. "There's a hidden waterfall you can hike too, and a river runs through the park. It's a must," explains Debbie P.

What campers like

Spacious sites: North Fork County Park cabins offer larger footprints than many competitors. "Each of the sites seem to have plenty of space for any time of camping you do, and are well tended in between seasons and visitors. And even with the ample size of each site, you don't feel like you're in your neighbor's lap," reports Dave D.

Sunset views: Willard Bay State Park cabins provide notable evening scenery. "Location at the foot of the mountain provides amazing views and panoramic vistas. The staff is amazing and polite and helpful. Well maintained camp," explains Robert S.

Family amenities: Brigham City-Perry South KOA cabins include additional conveniences for families with children. "We had a delightful stay over Memorial Day weekend. Our kids had a blast swimming, playing at the playground and then spending time in the arcade," shares Kristan J.

What you should know

Gate closure times: Hyrum State Park Campground operates with restricted overnight access. "It is totally fenced and gated. The gates close at 10pm and open at 6am. Very peaceful and enjoyable!" explains Brenda L.

Bug preparedness: Mosquitoes affect several cabin locations during summer months. "Stayed for Memorial Day weekend in the cottonwood campground. With citronella candles, bug sprays and bug deterrent bracelets, the mosquitoes and other bugs were relentless," warns Rara B.

Site selection: Cabin locations vary significantly in privacy levels. "We've camped all over in North Fork sites! Our family has our anual family reunion in Mustang Flats every summer, CW8 & CW9 are great for 5 families because they're connected by a little road," advises Fale L.

Tips for camping with families

Cabin alternatives: Willard Bay State Park offers both cabin and traditional camping options. "Great State Park. The sites are well spaced apart giving plenty of privacy. We didn't have much shade in ours but they provide a ramada on a cement pad over the picnic table which was great," notes Erin A.

Swimming access: Several cabin locations provide water recreation for children. "This campground is right next to the I-15, and a set of train tracks that seem to see daily use. We didn't lose any sleep from noise, though, with our AC running at night, and during the day, the freeway was like white noise. There's a nature trail through the grounds, a nice playground, and a 5 min walk to the beach," reports Rara B.

Campground layouts: Cabin sites vary in their proximity to facilities. "Checked out the bathrooms/showers…seen better but not terrible. Also there is lots of noise from the highway and railroad which we don't mind but light sleepers may want another option," advises Erin A.

Tips from RVers

Overnight stops: Century RV Park provides cabin options for travelers needing quick accommodations. "No frills (they do have a pool) RV Park right next to the I-15 freeway in Ogden. Great desk staff. Good prices. Great option if you just need an overnight. They will leave a very informative packet for you if you arrive after hours," explains David B.

Utility positioning: RV sites with cabins have varying hookup placements. "The utilities were in the perfect position for an RV towing a car. The front desk was super friendly and gives popcorn every day. Very walkable park and safe," shares Sandra V.

Highway proximity: Noise levels affect some cabin locations more than others. "Our biggest complaint about this park was the minimal distance between sites. It does have close proximity to a lot of what Ogden offers. Concrete pads were nice, but were a couple dollars more than gravel sites," notes Rachel H.
